A great many knights and others following the duty to cause and allies or seeking glory and riches for themselves heeds the call to arms for Blackwood or Bracken, fewer in number go to help and protect those who are about to get caught in the middle. Meanwhile, the stormclouds in the sky over the political landscape in The Reach grow darker, thicker and ever more numerous.
A choice to be made:
For Phase 3, event access will be restricted to the following tracks:
A. Remain in the Reach.
B. Rally behind the Blackwood Banner in the Riverlands.
C. Rally behind the Bracken Banner in the Riverlands.
In order to partake in phase 3 events, one must first declare one's choice here, preferably as soon as possible to allow the narrator to focus his creative energy on things on the various tracks based on which PC's might partake.
The following items are on the agenda in The Reach:
-A new member of the star tribunal is to be named to replace Septon Castos. Ordinarily an affair that would pass quietly, but with the increased attention cast upon it as of late, and the influence it's ranks holds in Oldtown where a single feather might tip the scales of control of the Hightower, interest is unusually high.
-House Fossoway hosts a Grand Masquerade Ball, of a more tasteful nature than the last one. Though some suspect it is one last insult to Lord Jon who died at such an event.
-Various opportunities for lesser schemes.
In the Riverlands, what can be expected is for each PC to partake in 1 to 3 skirmish scenarios before a grand battle ensues, possibly with further skirmishes afterwards. Some minor events surrounding the campaign might also happen.
While one could do something different like going to the Riverlands to protect the innocent, that will almost certainly lead to considerably less involvement in the story from an OOC perspective. The narrator may have an idea or two on how to weave such into the larger story, but it is not a given that there is sufficient creative energy to turn ideas into scenes.
It should be noted that until actual scenes are posted, the plans might be changed on narrator whim. In particular, the second act in the Riverlands is yet to be designed, so how many skirmish scenarios there will be depends in part on how long it takes to complete those scenes (and how well the supply of more scenarios holds up) and the time needed to prepare the big battle.
Consequences:
-Characters going to the Riverlands counts as absent for the purpose of House Fortunes for phase 3.
-Characters having committed to join Blackwood or Bracken in the relevant event and goes back on their word suffers -2 Chivalry.
-Characters who did not commit to join either side, but joins anyway gains +1 Disposition with the House joined and -2 with the opposing one.
