After Ser Preston yields, Aerion tries to gather his wits about him but can barely catch his breath before Ser Loren is upon him. It certainly was an odd phenomenon that as the number of contestants diminishes over time in the melee, the field seemed to get smaller rather than more open. Still, now was not the time for questions regarding the perception of time and space. Now was a time to try and take out Ser Loren before he himself falls.

Ser Loren is a bit of a surprise this far into the competition, that he has emerged almost unscathed even more so. His initial strike, however, does not come anywhere near what Ser Preston had mustered. Loren initative: 4d6-3 12I think you missed a bunch of penalties from injury/fatigue on initiative. Loren Lannister CD 16 (13) AR 10 Health 9/12 Charge: 7d6k3+3 14 1 DoS, no damage, but triggers fatigue. Takes fatigue to ignore AP on attack.

Aerion manages to raise his shield up in time to stop most of the blow from doing any significant damage, but he is reminded of a story one of his sparring partners told him of a torture technique used deep in some dark dungeon of Old Valyria. 'Death by a Thousand Cuts' he called it, where each individual cut was almost insignificant, but they added up to inflict excruciating pain on the victim. This was something like that, though definitely less torturous and in this case received voluntarily.
His arms weighing heavy, his armour dented in several places, and his mount showing signs of exertion, Aerion is not is the best of spots. Most men quit well before they are at their limit. This is what separates winners from losers. The words of Lord Leo rang clearly in his head. Although he might not have much to give, he still had some fight left in him yet, and manages to land a solid blow on Ser Loren despite his exhaustion. Fatigue and Injuries are accounted for, but missed the penalty from bulk. Initiative goes to 0. (yeesh!) How did he get this far without taking injuries/fatigue!?! Likely out as soon as he lands anything substantial!

Ser Loren may not hit quite as hard, but he appears to have taken an easier road, and possibly more than capable of matching Aerion considering the amount of battering sustained.
Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good, but if this guy had fighting 5 he'd be perfectly comparable to the majority of those who made it this far. Loren Lannister CD 16 (13) AR 10 Health 1/12-1 fatigue Aim+Attack: 8d6k4+2 192*6-10=2 Takes fatigue to ignore AP if/when attacked.

Aerion tries to swing at the man, but barely has any strength left in his arms. His sword barely lands against the man's shield as the lesser knight with better fortune is able to parry it away easily enough. Aerion concentrates on keeping his shield ready over more reckless offense, as the more inexperienced fighter may tired quickly and leave himself open for a counter attack. Aerion's injuries and wounds have clearly caught up to him, and he lunges forward in a last ditch attempt to take his opponent out with him. Instead, as he puts the last ounce of energy into his swing and dropping his shield in the process, he misses wildly and instead does little more than unbalance himself. He slumps sideways in his saddle, fighting to stay conscious more than to stay in his seat, and his sword arm hangs limply by his side, the tip dragging on the ground making a thin line in the mud as his mounts training takes over and it leaves the field knowing the man riding it can offer nothing else. P2.5 M6 - Reckless Aim + Attack vs. Ser Loren vs. CD 16: 9d6k5-6 12Aerion takes a wound to get in the last desperate swing. Aerion yeilds. (man it's a slippery slope once you need to take multiple injuries/fatigue!)

Technically, you'd be taking another attack and then yield for that to not be unsportsmanlike. CyB: 4d6-3 15Loren Lannister Health 5/12-3 fatigue

Oh, sorry. Didn't know that. Aerion wouldn't want to be unsportsmanlike, so let me take the hit.

Aerion takes the hit and knows he went past his limit. He would have chastised himself as foolish for being so reckless for the sake of a tournament, but his head was too fuzzy and all he could think about was the pain in his shoulder from that last blow. He raises his arms, and finds that his left only goes up halfway. Tommen is already waiting for him on the sidelines ready to take him to a Maester for tending.
Milk of the poppy to be used.
