With two dozen contestants left or near enough as makes no matter, victory might seem within reach now, but still beyond the grasp, five men of Kingsbridge have managed to wade through Frey's and Merryweather blackguards to make it as far as this, and Ser Thaddeus Levalle continues to surprise with his Resilience, though a cynic might note that it is Ser Robyn who has done all the hard work. Ser Hoster Bracken remains the sole Riverman left on the field as far as people can tell, the West and East remains strongly represented by Ser Robb Reyne and Ser Wyl Waynwood, and Blackfyre limps along despite the throbbing he has received, but more than half of the remaining knights represents the Reach, and so it is among the favorites, while both The Red Lion and Wild Wyl Waynwood are having bets placed furiously in their favor, others in good form include Ser Manfryd Grimm, though most suspects the canny maneuvering around the field, picking fights before the fights picks you, is Lord Durwell's work, Ser Manfryd is the one who breaks whatever opposition they steer into. Lord Owen Roxton has been on the receiving end of some small trouble, and upon shouting the challenge to Roland, the anticipated match within a match draws it's own attention among the gamblers, but while one man is sure to go down, he is like to take the chances of the other with him. But that is to be expected of Lord Owen, ever eager to match himself against the best, and it doesn't really get any better than the recently crowned champion of the joust.
In other parts of the field, some outsiders clash, Ser Aerion Flowers, runner-up in the joust finds himself face to face with Ser Titus Blackbriar and Ser Preston Oakheart, capable swordsmen both. Perhaps not quite so terrifying as The Krakenbeast, but Ser Victarion had merely solid knights around him, none who turned out to be a match to Ser Uthor, unlike now. It might be gallant to not have cousin up against cousin, though the Oakhearts are honorable enough to treat the melee like good and proper sport, unlike others who take out their feuds. Those fishing for opportunities to find odds that are much too high might consider the Levalle's, The Red Lion is formidable, but also well known, well liked and well respected. Ser Robyn and the Levalle's in general may be everything except those things, and Ser Robyn is considered mostly to be a knight in name only, but he seems highly capable even so. If one doesn't feel like putting some dragons on Ser Robb being defeated and there would be a good payout if so, one might consider a bet on another favorite, for the Red Lion is surely going to be in for a painful encounter with The Mauler.
Roland is up against Lord Owen Roxton and Ser Patrek Florent, can oblige Lord Owen's challenge to single combat and have Patrek face Jaime and Vardis, or do team on team.
-Proud would very much kick in here.
Parmen, Thaddeus and Robyn is up against Robb Reyne, Roland Crakehall and Loren Lannister, can arrange 3 times single combat or group vs group, either option would have pro's and cons from the PC's perspective methinks.
Aerion with Uthor is up against Titus Blackbriar and Preston Oakheart, can also do group or 2x single combat (the latter is probably more winnable).
