[P2.5] M3 - Initiative v. Otho: 5d6 11 Clear of Ser Harold Grell Mikel searched for The Beast of Bracken and found him easily enough. By the time Mikel had oriented his horse and touched spurs to it, the Beast had resolved his own fight, found Mikel, and began moving too.

Ser Otho's face is concealed behind his helm, but his sinister visage somehow comes through regardless. The man himself prefers a coal black armor, no tabard or caparison, but the prancing stallion is painted in an angry red on his shield. Though nobody needs that to recognize The Brute of Bracken.
I believe that's a 9 because of AP Otho CD: 13 (15 in round 1 because Sinister) AR: 11 Health 12/12 Otho initiative: 4d6-2 9Meaning re-roll: Rerolls: 5#4d6-2 14 8 9 10 19However, if you like, you can just take the tie and do simultaneous charge.

[P2.5] M3 - Charge Otho: 7d6k4+2 13 [P2.5] M3 - Charge Otho - Talented reroll v. TN 1: 1d6 5 Result: +4, Total 17
17 v. 15 for 1 DoS, 8 damage = 0 damage
Mikel brought his sword down with deadly intentions, but intentions alone didn't get it done. Otho was eager, Otho was ready, and the advantage of speed and initiative of which Mikel had were squandered as Mikel failed to kill, maim, or even slightly injure the beast. Good Armor, poor strike. Thought Mikel before their struggle began.

Otho's return was solid and Mikel leaned into the impact. Trusting in the sling running over his shoulders from his shield, he released grip on it for to better handle his sword as he slashed out toward the back of Otho's head. As he did so he spurred his horse on only turning back to face Otho once he was out of the Brute's reach and had his shield back in hand.

Otho follows Mikel, laughing at his foe running with the tail between his legs as he hammers down relentlessly on his foe.

Ser Mikel of Harroway CD: 11 (Shattered - 2) (AP 2) PR: 14 AR: 11 Health: 1/12 I/W/F: 2/1/2 *takes 1 wound to absorb damage, and 1 fatigue to ignore wound on attack* FA: Drop shield GA1: [P2.5]M3 Mikel and the beast - Reckless + Pull from Horse (Fighting/brawling) -1 fatigue to ignore wound: 9d6k6-3 29*+1 talented, -2 injuries -2 fatigue accounted for in roll* Mikel had hoped that forcing Otho to move and fight would have him attacking without being properly set to, and thereby reduce his effectiveness. Judging by the hit he just took his hopes had been sorely misplaced. Mikel knew the truth of superiority of skill over physicality, he had only ever known one man to be the exception to this rule. Against most peers, or those of superior skill, Mikels grappling was often an advantage. Judging from his experiences with Otho, including this one, Otho was stronger then that exceptionally strong man he knew. And on top of that, Othos skill couldnt be denied. Without a second thought as to what might happen after taking Othos latest strike on the shield and watching the shield crack in half, barely staying together, and feeling an instant burning pain in his shoulder, Mikel again released his shield yet as he did so sprang forward. As with Ser Jonothor Mikel grabbed for Othos helmet and wretched it whichever direction seemed most promising. Unlike with Ser Jonother, Mikel sprang from his own saddle and towards Otho, throwing the entirity of his weight into the effort of dragging the beast from his beast. In less time then that of a heartbeat he reminded himself that this was just a melee, and then supported his decision by remembering the promise he made to himself after his fight with Simon Tarly.

In a tumble they go down, Otho furiously tries to pull Mikel down next to him, but fails.

After their tumble Mikel stays just ahead of Othos reaching hands, resisting an urge to return his belittling laugh, he instead finds his mount - who had stayed nearby - and makes his way off the field.

The words Ser Otho shouts after Mikel are not the sort that can be properly described in polite company, let alone repeated. The crowds all cheer though, this time the Brute was prevented from killing anyone, and Mikel made him mad, which is reason enough for anyone to like him.
This does count as defeating challenging opponent.
