Thaddeus was no warrior. His skills laid elsewhere, or so he liked to tell himself at least. Of Alliser Levalle's two sons Imry was the one with an aptitude for sword, horse and steel while he much preferred court, drink, hunt and the fiddle. But a Lordling of the Reach had little choice in such matters, if you were not fit to call yourself a knight, many thought you not fit to rule. Good King Daeron II served a perfect example of such reasoning. But Thaddeus Levalle was still a Ser, annointed and knighted at Brightwater and still skilled enough with the blade to give the average hedge knight pause. He doesn't know the knight opposed him but recognises the three red martlets of House Grell. The two knights charge of against one and another.

Even in the Riverlands being a Levalle in the melee has its dangers, but Ser Preston wasn’t one of them. Yes, he went hard against the Black Fox, but more likely to win a position at the Tear more than anything else. However, so far his chance of winning anything was slim.

Thaddeus deflects the blows of the riverlander and finding a weak spot in his defence, he drives his sword in hard at the joints.

The blow hurt but Thaddeus returned the gesture in kind - he didn’t expect to last too long but falling this early on would not suffice. He ruthlessly strikes Ser Preston neck, a blow that might have killed had they not been using blunted swords. The Grell knight promptly yields.
What the hell, man!? CD: 10 Armour: 10 Health: 4/9 F/I/W: 0/0/0 Melee - Scene 1 - R2 Aim+Attack v Ser Preston: 6d6k4+1 21 - 3 DoS = 15-7= 8 dmgConsequence of Defeat: Yield

Thaddeus stays close to his captain and in a brief moment of stillness he aids in surveying the field.
