This thread is to provide an overview of the Player Characters, and players are encouraged to present their character here once final approval of the character details have been granted by the narrator. The presentation should take the form of what is reasonably public knowledge and it would be very appropriate to include a physical description, though one is not limited to just including this, though things which other characters are not likely to be aware of or easily discover if they are curious should be marked as such. Optionally you may also include OOC notes as to any angles through which other characters may know yours, and also what sort of interactions you would enjoy having.

Post by Laena Pyre on Jun 12, 2018 3:24:45 GMT 1
Lady Laena Pyre, née Flowers Appearance 21 years old, attractive, with Valryan-silver hair, but bright blue (rather than violet) eyes. Birthing hips, but only a modest bust.
Children Her daughter, Sylvina, is four years old. She inherited her mother's hair and features, but her father's soft, expressive brown eyes, which she uses to charm all around her.
Her son, Landar, is two years old. He inherited his father's black hair, but his mother's blue eyes. Curious to a fault, he's liable to go off 'exploring' if Leana or a servant take their eyes off him for even a moment.
History Born and raised in King's Landing until legitimized at age 11, she then went to foster under Lady Rhonda Tyrell. Shortly after turning 16, she married one of Lord Tyrell's landed knights, a man in his forties named Ser Vernan Pyre. Not particularly attractive (though not ugly), not particularly distinguished (though well-acquitted enough), not particularly charismatic (though not a boor), he was simply an honest knight, doing his best for his lord.
For a while, things went well. There was some disappointment when her first child was a daughter, but less than two years later, she provided her husband a son and heir. Things were looking hopeful. But then, disaster struck. Ser Vernan died suddenly. With no knight to man the hold, Lord Tyrell was forced to find a replacement, and Laena lost her home. Reluctantly, she moved back to Starkwood lands, with two children who had no useful family or claims to land.
Now, after a suitable mourning period, Laena is determined to try and get married again, while she still has her youth. And, at the least, she has proven very fertile. But the world is not the same one as five years previously. Great Bastards like her are at the heart of a growing schism in the realm, and are carefully examined for how they will act. These political winds could blow even a ship merely seeking safe harbour into the rocks.
But Laena is smart, wilful, and charismatic; nothing is going to stop her from making a new home for her and her children.
Nothing.

Post by Ser Donnel Blackbriar on Jun 13, 2018 8:38:19 GMT 1
Ser Donnel Blackbriar
"Ah, friend! Much have changed these last few years! Let ut talk for a while! Catch up on everything!
Overview
Aye, my brother still rules, although I feel the vultures crowding in on his percieved weakness, I only hope that he will hold! Ah, yes I am still known for my chivalry, although I must confess that my martial prowess has weakened with age, I can promise you my code of honor is strong as ever.
I often feel like it is that very same code of honor that plagues me. My honor makes me unable to solve the split between my brother and wife, and it leaves me sleepless.
You know me, I will never give up on my code, so my question is, how much can I take before I break fully?
Appearance
Ah yes, age has not slouched me much I tell you, Im still tall as ever! I have lost a bit of weight recently, it is true, but it seems, old friend, that you have gained it, and more to spare! Hahaha!
Yes I often hear that I have a determined look about me! I think it is my eyes! They have sunken in from all they have witnessed, although my nose remains as hawkish as ever!
How do you like my hair? I simply dont have the time to shave, so I simply let my hair and beard flow... Of course the wife keeps on nagging about how I don't listen to her because the hair covers my ears... But thats wives for you... We all have to suffer under one! I cant imagine how aegon the conqueror managed! Having two, and both with dragons too!
Aye, my skin is dry... I have spent so much time exposed to the sun and wind, My face is tanned like leather! Hey! I preffer my simple quality garb over your garish, indecent folds any day of the week! Aye, my sword is the only thing I have that is excessive... I believe that those who face me deserve to know who slayed them, and the day I fall myself, old Honor, My sword, may be the only telltale of who I am!
Personality
Aye, I usually puts on my friendly demeanor , and you know me... I mostly like to listen, I don't speak out of turn, and certainly not when it is not needed! I must admit that this has changed a bit under the surface, but I keep the act up, only to you can I trust this! The others won't understand it!
Aye, the insecurities plague me, and I feel unable to make any decision, of fear for going wrong! In times when his duties grows too much for me to bear, my demeanour often changes, gone is my friendly, carefree attitude, at times like these I feel replaced by a gruff, bitter old man, who feels as if his past acievements is all for nothing.
My scheming wife and my inept brother worries me greatly, for my loyalty to both is absolute!. The same goes for the way the septons fanaticism threatens to fill the people with hate! It pains me, but how can I speak against the septon, when the septon is my faith? The will of the septon is the will of the gods... Have I strayed this far from my faith? That I can't even recognice whats right anymore?
As my weary body weaken, all I prays for is that my children gets the life I would have wanted for myself. A life of hard, honest work, with the occasional joust or feast... A life without all the politics that I have to endure in his brothers absence. I guess it is the nature of time that the old ways must give in...
History Being raised as a second son, I have had to fight for everything I have ever achieved! I was always big for my age, and was never afraid to get into a scrap if someone looked at me funny... I guess that was why I got to serve under Ser Walton Ball, aye the father of the famous Fireball himself!
I couldn't believe my luck when he picked me, but my joy soon turned to frustration. Serving under Walton was a constant trial of hardships. He never let me go easy, always working me to the bone. If his armor had a spot, I went without food. If I wasn't awake and ready when he roused, I went hungry that day. No tasks was done in half measures, because he would scan everything I did for the smallest of flaws.
In my sparring practices he never went easy. In my time under him I lived in a constant fear that he would one beat me so hard that I wouldn't wake up! These days I miss the old bastard! Everything was simpler back then! Giving my everything was the minimum, but he never demanded more than he knew I could do!
During my squiring I hated him, but when I earned my spurs, I understood why he had run me like that! I saw other knights saying their vows, pudgy men, greedy and spineless. Having been dolled over in a castle, with servants for themselves, they wouldn't know which end of a shovel goes into the earth! I am ashamed that these men so poison the honorable knightly order!
Erhm... Where was I?
Ah yes! After I earned my spurs I started traveling the land, honing my skills at each and every tournament... I competed to perfect my art, but then I entered that fateful tournament at Peake! The prize was a fair maiden, and I was obviously intent on performing my best! I must be honest... With knights like Dennis Hightower present, I didn't even in my dreams think I could win!
When me and the Hightower knight rode towards each other in the final tilt, I only braced myself against the impact... The first round went well, and I kept atop my horse with ease! Emboldened by this, I struck the Hightower man with all my feriocity on the second hit, and I think I caught him offguard! I was smashed, struggling to keep my saddle after he hit my breastplate, but as I gained controll of my horse, I saw it! Titus had fallen to the ground, I was victorious!
I must have been concussed, for the rest happened in a blur! I was brought up before Lord Titus Peake, and he gave me his daughters arm... Of course she was a feisty one! The next month I spent being yelled at for not losing to Dennis... I almost started to think Ser Dennis lost on purpose... But then... a week after our wedding, her mind changed. With my patience, helped nicely by my son in her belly, she finally started to settle! Of course, after the first one brought out such joy in her, I was more than happy to continue producing them. Aye, now we have quite the litter!
When I rode to a tournament, I always made sure to bring a few of the small ones! It is important that they start learning! And now that Ser Balon and ser Vortimer is all grown up, I am happy I never lost fate in them! Although my wife wanted them to stay home more often!
Hah! That old hag got proven wrong, our two eldest are strapping lads, and the rest are well on their way!
10 questions:
1. What is your opinion on Dornish?
The king knows best... They can be tolerated... just dont ask me to trust them!
2. Do you value honor as a positive quality on it's own merits?
Yes.
3. Who is your squire (for knights)?
(Subject for change) Quentyn flowers, a capable squire, chosen for his merits rather than breeding.
4. Did you serve as page/squire/lady in waiting, if so, where?
(With narrators approval) Aye, I served under Walton Ball himself. He was a hard man to serve under, Im happy for the Iron he hammered into me! If only my brother had served under him... Maybe he would have a spine himself!
5. Do you have any opinion of females being head of house, or having other such responsibilities largely considered the role of men?
Hahahah Youre funny as always!
6. How religious are you?
Just as religous as proper, a prayer a day keeps the gods away, and I have enough to think about without gods getting in on it!
7. What is your opinion on the struggle between loyalists and Blackfyre supporters?
They will battle, I will serve whomever my brother designs, and after the ashes of war is settled, nothing will have changed.
8. What is your opinion of non-knighted men?
I will die for knightly ideals... but many knights are undeserving of the title, and some without it deserves it!
9. What is your opinion of anyone not behaving according to the ideals of chivalry/virtue?
Weakwilled. They deserve my pity, but nothing else. (Obviously harder to see those shortcomings in those close to him!)
10. What is your opinion and treatment of your lessers (smallfolk)? Alternatively your betters (if you are not noble)
I am their shield, I make my sacrifices so they will never know the sacrifices I make!
Sir Donnel, talking to his horse on a late evening ride."

Post by Ashara Starkwood on Jun 13, 2018 13:27:04 GMT 1
Lady Ashara Starkwood
Appearance: Dark brown of hair and eye, with olive hued skin - very much her mother's daughter. Slender and toned, no one will be naming mountains after her chest, but she draws men's gazes nonetheless.
Information: Lady Ashara Starkwood, daughter of Lord Ulbert Starkwood and his wife, Lady Allyria (formerly of House Dayne). Attractive and lithe, her long limbs put her half a head above most women, and her bold gaze and Rhoynar heritage draw interest and scorn in equal measure. Almost a woman grown, she has spent the majority of the past five years serving as lady-in-waiting to a Martell princess of similar age - part of King Daereon II's efforts to establish peace with Dorne.
Having been absent from the Reach, little is known of her. Other girls sent as part of the same peace efforts speak of a passion and talent for dance, and that while she can be cold to strangers, she is warm and personable to those that get to know her.
It is unclear why she has returned from Sunspear. Some say that Lord Ulbert has arranged a betrothal for her, though nothing official has been announced. Others say it must be because of some sort of trouble or scandal, but have no evidence for their claims.

Post by Septon Abelar on Jun 20, 2018 0:32:13 GMT 1
Septon Abelar
While House Blackbriar's leaders are known for their quiet, dutiful method of piety, Septon Abelar is the fire. His charisma is matched only by his all-consuming zealotry, which he unleashes in public sermons, private audiences, or anywhere else sin or evildoing may be found. In addition to the typical duties of a septon--preaching to the smallfolk, tutoring young nobles--Abelar has taken on non-religious roles within the house, including bombastic announcer of edicts, diplomat or emissary, and adviser to the lord. Indeed, there are some who have remarked that Abelar has never been seen at the same time as House Blackbriar's hooded executioner, whose grisly work is often preceded by one of Abelar's thunderous performances. His reputation precedes him in the Reach, where his fiery sermons and denunciations have made him known beyond the halls of Gyldenhaal. He has been known to reduce knights and ladies to tears with his furious castigations, which have at times exceeded what decorum might otherwise dictate. Despite his seemingly uncontrollable urge to judge and condemn, Abelar is shrewd enough to never completely overextend in ways that could jeopardize him personally or reflect too badly on House Blackbriar. At the same time, he can be gracious and flattering to those whom he deems worthy.
Abelar stands at average height, only slightly stooped as he approaches fifty. His eyes are dark and captivating, always alive with judgment and energy. Thanks to his thin frame and animated fervor, he could be mistaken for a younger man if it were not for the lines on his face, the shocks of silver running through his black hair, and his unhealthy focus on piety, honor, and justice. He wears simple robes of white and a belt woven of seven fading braids that were once the color of the rainbow. They whisper that he scourges himself for penance, but his robes conceal any scars on his body.
OOC Notes
Hi everyone! As you may gather, Abelar is not a guy with a great sense of humor. He can be an engaging conversationalist and is a trusted agent of House Blackbriar, but at the same time, hoo boy, he has some triggers. Best not to mention your mistress, or show too much eagerness for the pleasures in life. He's gonna be weird about that stuff, and his opinion of your character is going to be heavily dictated by their piety, virtue, honor, and other such concepts.
Abelar is also a well-published scholar, though his corpus of work is limited to religious texts and exposition of the same. If your character is well-read, they may have come across his works, which were created in Oldtown and King's Landing about twenty to thirty years ago. His scholarship is largely concerned with the powers of the Faith prior to the reign of Jaehaerys the Conciliator.

Post by Olyvar Rowman on Jun 22, 2018 0:56:28 GMT 1
Olyvar Rowman is a plump, soft, well-mannered hypochondriac in his early 40s. He always complains that he feels sick, he avoids lifting any weight because "his back is killing him" and he always moves slowly because he is afraid he will injure himself. He drinks very little as he gets drunk very easily.
Even though he would not be called handsome by most, he has a pleasant complection and a disarming smile. He is always polite and respectful with everyone. He is devout in the faith of the Seven and he always offers alms the products he fears that are going to be spoilt. He has a reputation of being honest in his deals.
Even though many consider him weak, people that stole from him in the past have returned the goods and begged for forgiveness, which Olyvar readily granted. He comments that the gods always look after honest men.
Olyvar uses an argent scallop on azure as his emblem. He has no motto but he is often heard saying “I am the most honest merchant you will ever meet”. He is often accompanied by his personal guard, Ralf.
History:
Olyvar grew up in Riverrun. His father was a relatively successful merchant until his ship got plundered and he was abducted by the Ironborn. The ransom that he paid to get free destroyed him financially. Soon after he ended his life.
Olyvar liquidated everything that was left and moved to the Reach, settling down at the Tear. He started trading mostly in agricultural products and sometime later he opened an inn, "The Scallop And The Cat".
Nowadays he trades in anything that has a prospect of profit but still mostly agricultural products.

Post by Aladale Levalle on Jun 23, 2018 14:15:49 GMT 1
Description Ser Aladale Levalle, is the younger brother of current Lord Allister Levalle. A man in his late thirties, he wears his dark brown hair short and typically trims his beard accentuating his distinctive features. With his lean muscular build he looks every bit like the a typical knight of the Reach. Despite his age and status, Ser Aladale is not married.
He is a regular attendant of the various Tourneys in the Reach and can often be find on all kind of social events across the region, ranging from Weddings to Feasts. Due to this, a regular observer of the Reach's nobility most likely knows the Levalle knight from sight.
Despite his regular appearance at Tourneys, Aladale is not particularly known for his success in the lists. While adequate with a sword or on horseback, he typically prefers social activities to martial ones and can often be seen in talks with anyone from Lords and Ladies of status to regular man-at-arms and smallfolks.
OOC If anyone is interested in establishing an existing connection with Aladale prior to the start of the chronicle, I am happy to do so. Please send me a PM

Post by Lysette Starling on Jun 27, 2018 1:32:08 GMT 1
Description Lysette Starling is stunning to look at, with milk-fair skin and long windswept hair of pale gold. Her eyes are the fathomless blue of the deep sea, and possessed of a keen and piercing stare. Her dresses are often rather simple, even plain, though this simply allows her own natural beauty to shine through. She's fond of sky-colors, blue and white and grey, with splashes of yellow.
Personality The Lady Lysette is earnest and serious, her sense of humor showing in dry comments and sometimes obscure wordplay when it shows at all. Though she has mastered courtly graces, she sometimes seems to have little patience for them. It's not uncommon for her to find a well-placed excuse to leave a function early, or hold herself aloof from the buzz of conversations. In fact the word 'aloof' describes her rather well, oftentimes, though if someone stumbles across one of her interests-of-the-moment they quickly see another side of her entirely.
History Being raised in a castle full of knights left a lasting impression on Lysette. At once she found the swaggering and boasting to be intimidating...but she was also pampered and coddled by men vying for the approval of her father, as well as by her father himself. Fortunately her mother and the wise Septa took her in hand early on, teaching her discipline. Even as a young girl she heeded those lessons, holding herself apart from the squires and knight's sons that she grew up with in the castle. Despite having friendships with some of the other girls, Lysette often combated the solitude by escaping into the worlds of books, guided by the House maester. Even now she's known to be unusually interested in strange and obscure topics, though applies herself far more to ladylike pursuits.

Post by Mikel of Harroway on Jun 27, 2018 23:29:58 GMT 1
Ser Mikel of Harroway is a good looking man of average height with dark brown eyes and matching hair kept short. He appears fit, calm, and confident. He has spent nearly a decade traveling the Seven Kingdoms and participating in tournaments all over typically performing well in the joust and better in the melee. There was an incident nearly two years ago where rumor has it that Mikel had stopped Otho Bracken from beating a Blackwood man who died soon after. During the trial Mikel stood witness against Otho but it was a quick affair and all charges dropped.
Mikel is of common birth and earned his Knighthood when a party he was with was ambushed in the Mountains of the Moon by the Burned Men. He is passionate about his professional, respectful, and typically quiet. He has recently begun serving House Starkwood and is in his early thirties.
(OOC: As new as can be to all this, looking forward to it.)

Post by Balon Blackbriar on Jun 28, 2018 6:46:17 GMT 1
Age: Two and Twenty (born in 172 AL)
Physical Appearance:
Tall with a robust physique from years of martial training. A mop of sandy brown hair crowns his head and he wears a full goatee. While some believe his furrowed brow is a sign on hostility or anger it is more of a predatory gaze, his hazel eyes assessing those around him. There is a pridefulness about him that causes him to stand straighter, walk more confidently, and puff his chest out.
Demeanour:
Balon's personality was shaped by his father, Gormon Peake, and Fireball. His jovial side he gained from his good-natured father, using his charm to win friends easily. His foul language in the company of knights and soldiers he gained from Gormon, and his perfectionist attitude towards the martial pursuits he got from Ser Quentyn Ball. Like many young knights that aren't battle tested he seeks to prove himself whenever possible. As he is unwed he attempts to charm any pretty woman he sees. He isn't looking to sire bastards but who doesn't want to have a little fun now and again.
An unabashed Blackfyre supporter and Dornish hater, Balon is unafraid to share his opinions on the aforementioned.
History:
Born to Ser Donnel Blackbriar and Shiera (nee Peake), Balon spent his youth following his father to tournament after tournament. His love of swordplay was so great it is said that as a baby one hand held the wetnurse's tit and the other hand held a training sword. By the age of 8 his mother sent Balon to be a page for his cousin Lord Gormon Peake. Some say it was to learn from a great man. Others say it was his mother keeping him away from Gyldenhaal so he didn't pick up any bad habits from his weak willed uncle Lord Jon.
Gormon recognized his talent and recommended Fireball take Balon on as a squire. With Ser Quentyn's training Balon became an able jouster, a feared swordsman, and a honorable knight. Since being knighted by Fireball Balon has traveled the Reach, the Stormlands, the Crownlands, and on occasion the Riverlands, joining any tournament he comes across. With the Seven Kingdoms relatively stable Balon has yet to prove himself in battle. Something he desperately craves to do.

Post by Daeron Wildfyre on Jul 1, 2018 3:58:42 GMT 1
Ser Daeron Waters: Legitimized son of King Aegon IV, sworn brother of the Kingsbridge Companions Personal Standard: A silver three-headed Targaryen dragon on a sea-green field, replaced in the Riverlands with a green flame cross on a sable field. Appearance: A 23 year-old-man with the classic features of Old Valyria, silver-golden hair and intense violet eyes. When not clad in his heavy armor, he's often found in traveling leathers or courtier's clothes, usually in his favorite silver and sea-green, but when he's feeling feisty, he'll don Targaryen (or Blackfyre) red and black. Since adopting a new device, he's moved to green on black as his own colors. Background: A Great Bastard and scion of House Velaryon, Daeron entered the service of his Aunt Alysanne, Lady of House Starling, as a young adult after being rejected by his own kin. As a retainer of House Starling, he rose among the ranks of the Kingsbridge Companions and word of his skill with sword and lance were spread throughout the Reach. As a knight, the "reforms" of King Daeron concern him and his personal sympathies towards his brother, Daemon Blackfyre, have pushed him towards the Fire faction. What the role of a Great Bastard might play in any upcoming struggle is yet to be seen. Common Knowledge-A dangerous and temperamental knight in the service of House Starling who arrived in the Reach from Driftmark -Knighted by his uncle, Lord Willem Starling, after winning a squire's tourney at Cider Hall -Open supporter of Ser Daemon Blackfyre's claim to kinghood -Has become an enemy of Lord Eldon Merryweather and his blackguards after the events at the Black Tourney Timeline171 -Born Daeron Waters in the town of Hull on Driftmark to King Aegon IV and Lady Alysa Velaryon 179 -Becomes a page to his uncle, Lord Laenor Velaryon 183 -Gets into a fight with his cousin and heir to Driftmark, Maelys Velaryon ending with a broken arm for Maelys and Daeron being released from Lord Laenor's service, visits King's Landing with his mother where he is publicly acknowledged by his father, King Aegon IV, and where he meets his brother, Ser Daemon Blackfyre. 184 -Is sent to live with his aunt, Lady Alysanne Starling of Kingsbridge and becomes the squire to his uncle Lord Willem Starling 190 -Wins a squire's tourney at Cider Hall and is knighted by Lord Willem for his skill at arms 192 -Meets his half-brother, Ser Aegor Rivers, for the first time at a tourney at Old Oak and is quickly swayed by his words to support the idea of a King Daemon Blackfyre 194 -Participates in the Black Tourney where he carries the favor of Lady Shiera Woodwright, a half-Dornish beauty, and makes enemies with Lord Eldon Merryweather and "Ser" Otho Bracken over their transgressions against his adoptive house. Earns the epithet "Wildfyre" for his aggressive jousting techniques which he readily accepts. Fights as a lieutenant for Blackfyre in the Grand Melee in which he challenges and helps defeat the Brute of Bracken. 194 -Unwittingly incites an incursion into Dorne which he participates in himself, but along with his cousin, Ser Addam Velaryon, refuses to massacre Dornish merchants 194 -Speaks out against King Daeron II in public after the defeat of Ser Daemon at the hands of "Ser" Rennifer Waters, also stands against his honorable cousin, Ser Addam Velaryon after the vigil of Lady Ashara Starkwood. 194 -Attends the tourney at Whitewalls where he champions Lady Johanna Peake and makes an impressive performance at the Tactician's Tourney and defeats the blackguards of Longtable alongside his fellow Companions in the Melee. 194 -Takes part in Lord Gormon Peake's Grand Hunt where he slays a massive boar with a single strike and brutally assaults Ser Walgrave Waters for insulting Lady Johanna Peake, he also jousts in the tourney at Goldengrove, but makes less of an impact with his presence 194-195 -Fights for House Bracken in the Riverlands against House Blackwood, during which he helps to capture the town of Mudgrave, holds off the Ironhand's ravagers around Blackbuckle, and defeats Ser Dennis Hightower in a duel during which he maims the Hightower knight. At Battle Valley he fights a brutal duel with Ser Rhys Daverhyl, but loses and is taken captive.

Aerion is generally friendly and well mannered, often seen smiling and trying to make the best of any given situation. He is pious and just, and could easily be considered a true knight. He has been known to try and insert humour wherever he can, and is quickly becoming popular with locals for his tourney performances. Description:Aerion stands a few inches above 6 feet, and is of broad shoulder. He is the difinition of a knight, as handsome as he is gallant. He keeps his hair short in military fashion, and can often be seen sporting a few days growth on his face, making him look a few years older than he is. He does pay attention to the current fashions and when opportunity arises he will sport something extravagant. His eyes are a pale lavender, with flecks of gold; a tribute to his father and his Targaryen heritage, and his hair has a slight tinge of brown in it's silvery thickness, belying his Starkwood blood. His lightly tanned skin is that of a man who spent hours outdoors, though for some reason hasn't become leathery like many men he spent those hours next to. History:Aerion was born in King's Landing as a bastard of the Targaryen King Aegon IV and spent his early years there before travelling with his mother to House Starkwood. Once he was legitimized, he was sent to squire for Lord Leo Tyrell, and spent much of his life at Highgarden. Post by Roland Cordwayner on Jul 9, 2018 13:23:03 GMT 1
Description Roland is a tall, robust knight of six foot and two inches in his early twenties. His arms, armour and clothing tend toward the practical with any ornamentation heavily favouring religious symbols.
He wears his hair unusually long for a knight, albeit not quite long enough to make wearing a helm uncomfortable. He seems to take a great deal of pride in his black hair, which makes for a striking contrast to the golden hair of many other Cordwayners, such as his niece Denyse, who he dotes on. He tends to vary between sporting a light stubble and a short beard.
Roland generally wears the arms of both house Cordwayner (boots on green and yellow diamonds) parted per pale alongside those of whichever house he is currently serving with.
As House Cordwayner's "spare" son, Ser Roland has been afforded significant freedom to follow his own path, albeit some claim his sister-in-law regards him as unwelcome at Hammerhal.
Common Knowledge - Knighted by Ser Roland Redwyne, Redtusk himself, for killing one Dornish knight and capturing a second. - Left Lord Walgrave Oakheart's service under a cloud after returning Dornish ladies to their own lines rather than taking them as prisoners. - The incident with the Dornish led to heated words between Ser Simon Tarly and Ser Roland, and the two are known to dislike one another. - Squired by Hugh Blackwood. - Noted tournament knight, having prevailed in numerous smaller tournaments. Roland is a fixture at such events, lacking lordly responsibilities or a family to tie him down. - Markedly devout, often visiting famous Septs or listening to speeches by Septons. - Habitually refers to "Ser Daemon Blackfyre" rather than Daemon Waters, although he has not publicly supported Daemon yet, unlike many of House Starling's companions.

Malcolm is not a very remarkable knight when it comes to stature with a height of 5'10 and an accompanying build. He is 37 years old and travels with his squire, Beric Longthorpe.
He wears his hair a bit longer than usual and looks after his beward meticulously. At least some have pegged him as somewhat vain for it. While he does have arms that indicate the House he currently serves, he also can be seen in the colours of House Caswell from time to time. The white and gold help getting attention from the people and it also looks great in his opinion, if only a bit impractical to keep clean...
Common Knowlegde: - Squired for and knighted by Lord Bryce Bridges. - Known for his adherence to the knightly ideals - Spent most of his life before entering the service of House Blackbriar as a Hedge Knight. - A distant cousin of Lady Erena Blackbriar, his exact relation to Lord Armond Caswell is unknown.
