I've seen a few new accounts created, so I wanted say welcome - and also to encourage you to say hello. Games like this work best when the players are engaged with each other, OOC as well as IC. If you have any questions, you can often get a faster (if less authoritative) answer by asking publicly rather than sending a message to Father. There is a lot of information to absorb, and some of us have been looking it over for weeks or months - we can be a good resource for you. For character concept questions, this is probably the best thread to post in (though of course if your character has secrets you would probably not want to post them publicly). For mechanics questions, use the Mechanical Discussion thread. For setting questions, the Q&A thread is probably the best bet. For everything else, there's the Pre-game General OOC thread.

Sorry Ashara but after careful consideration I've decided to stick with Balon Blackbriar. I can't see myself cavorting with a bunch of disgusting half-breed Dornishmen.

That's what's so lovely about ooc threads! You can chat with everyone, regardless of how much you hate them in character😉

Quite alright Balon, best to play what you WANT to play rather than try to shoehorn yourself into something else. Perhaps one of the new players will join us.
An update on the player distribution: 3 Blackbriar - 2 knights and a septon 2 Starkwood - 2 ladies 2 Starling - 2 knights 3 Levalle - 2 knights, 1 lady* (lady may move to Starling) [See Laena's post on pg2 for the details]
Assuming (a dangerous thing in general) that all knights are warriors and all ladies(and the septon) are intriguers, Starkwood is short on muscle and Starling is short on social power.

I think there are 24 users, so im assuming (dangerous indeed) that we will end up with more characters than this! Lets just keep an open tone and pray that more people join!

At least one Levalle knight is not (only) looking for a melee or joust :-)

16 members including me and the account I sometimes use to check how the forum works out from a regular user.
A couple of brawny characters headed for Starkwood it seems.

I was Davian. But don’t worry, I won’t be trying to role play a super honorable character ever again! Lol

Sorry Ashara but after careful consideration I've decided to stick with Balon Blackbriar. I can't see myself cavorting with a bunch of disgusting half-breed Dornishmen. Hey! There's disgusting half-breed Targaryen bastards needing shunning as well! A couple of brawny characters headed for Starkwood it seems. Glad to hear it! Welcome, brawny types. Out of curiosity, any other Great Bastards in the works, or am I the only person batshit enough to think that putting *that* big of a target on their head is a good idea? Do we know how many are from the old forums btw? Would be interesting to see how many are back for more and how many got recruited! My incredible deduction skills makes me assume wasdaveth was Daveth as well? While I did admit that in my first post in this thread, just to confirm that yes, I did play Daveth in Dragon's Dance. I'm aware of at least a couple of other veterans, but I won't 'out' them as I don't think they've stated such publicly.

Just thought I should pop in and say hello. I am for the most part new to playing a RPG (except for some computer games) and have not played on a play by post. I have been looking into the ASOIAF RPG for quite awhile and when I saw this post on the greenronin website I thought I'd give it a try. I'll try not to slow anything down or look too silly. I am creating a character for Starkwood which should help with the current lack of muscle. Thanks to everybody in advance for your patience for the plethora of questions I'll be asking!

Great to let this one be your first! Asking questions means that you are interested, and nothing is more important for a play by post game than having interested players! So ask away!

I would generally recommend new players to ask loads of questions, there's veterans of previous games of this sort in each house, and all of them hang around here.
PbP is different than RL, and this is different than regular PbP, though if you haven't done any regular PbP I don't think the latter difference is going to matter.
