Ser Aubrey Ambrose had stood against the crazed hordes threatening the innocents because such is the right things to do, now he stands against the craving for vengeance and blood that Ser Daeron represents.

Daeron has no intentions to see another good knight harmed over this septon’s fate, but Abelar is too dangerous a man to remain a priest. He would not go easy on Ser Aubrey.

The clash of lances leaves both knights unbuckled, Ser Aubrey is the faster and wheels around to charge with high precision, the blade dancing in his hand. D3+B: 7d6k4-1 22SiS: 5d6k3+4 18CD: 17 (14) AR: 11 Health 12/12 Initiative: 6d6k4-2 18Charge (LBF I, -3b): 6d6k4+6 24 8 damage/DoS, so 24-11=13?

He barely gets his shield up in time to absorb some of Ser Aubrey's blow, any slower and the duel might have been over, but he takes no time to ponder things as he gives his own riposte.

Few knights of the Reach, or indeed, the realm, can match Ser Aubrey Ambrose for the speed and elegance of his swordplay.

Daeron can’t match him with skill or speed, but he intends to make up for it with strength and tenacity.

Daeron felt his temper rising as Ser Aubrey continued to effectively control the combat. As the dragon began to stir an image flashed in his mind, that of Ser Roland’s body being carried away. If he was to unleash the dragon it was likely that at least one of them would be dead by the end of this, likely both of them. Abelar was dangerous, there was no doubt about that, but what good would another dead knight do to stop him? For once he swallowed his pride and knew when to admit defeat.
“Yield! I yield Ser.” Casting his sword to the ground he raises his arms while he still had the strength to do so.
He takes a Wound to soak up that blow and Yields.

Ser Aubrey complements Ser Daeron on his ferocity and admits that he was in fact worried of what might happen if the raging dragon that stood up to Ser Otho Bracken had awoken.

“You honor me Ser, but it seems that the Seven have blessed your sword this day. I look forward to when we might again fight side-by-side.”
