Laena's visit had struck a nerve within Daeron. Had her knowledge been shared on its own, he might have been able to disbelieve it, but given that his own research had independently confirmed what she shared, it was hard for him to deny it. He had no ideas of abandoning his cause, but the knowledge that Lord Gormon was behind some of the most heinous crimes of the Black Tourney unnerved him and made him recognize that he was a potential danger to his half-brother's chances of winning the throne if others learned of this information.
In light of all of this, he needed someone to talk to, and none were better than his cousin and fellow Companion whom he often treated as a younger brother, Ser Addam Velaryon.
When Ser Addam answered his summons in the training yard he saw Daeron sharpening his blade next to the ruined stump of a straw dummy. Clearly he had taken out some feelings on it.

Addam was in no particular hurry to answer his cousin's summons. If it was truly something important, Daeron would of sought him out himself or at the very least said so. Strolling across the yard, He stopped to admire his cousin's handy work.
"What? Did Butterbumps make fun of your sword play or something?"

He gave a chuckle at his cousin's joke. It was quite funny and made him feel better after the weird day he'd had. Setting his practice sword back on its rack he strode over to Ser Addam and gave him a pained smile.
"Cousin, you are a sight for sore eyes. It has been an unusual day for me."
He briefly relates to Ser Addam his recent encounter with Laena and the discovery that Lord Gormon Peake was the likely patron of the Hooded Man and how his own findings had confirmed her information.
"What do you think I should do? I dare not risk our cause's success by isolating the Peakes, but if both and I Laena know his secret then it's just a matter of time before others know as well. Part of me wants to quash the rumors and the other wants to get out in front of them."
He doesn't even mention that it makes the rescue of Ser Aladore seem staged by Lord Gormon's presence, he didn't believe Ser Addam to be capable of such underhanded maneuvers.

As Daeron informed Addam of what he and Laena had found, Addam found himself doing something he never really done before, he thought about it. He had always wondered if the rumors we true. That the kidnapping was all a ploy to get the Florents on the right side. But it all seemed convenient, yet if true...
"Do you think Lord Gormon is that stupid?" His tone wasn't mocking or malicious, but inquisitive. "To use a man that so easily linked to him, perhaps we have chosen the wrong side. I mean once we got the man description, it seemed fairly easily to find out who he is and who's his patron. Yet Lord Gormon is only his patron. The man is a merchant, he has no master, his loyalty only belonging to whoever will make him the most money in the long term. Perhaps he was acting on another's orders or he acted on his own to curry even great favor. And even if this was all Gormy's idea, does it matter? What is the life of one child and the beating of an heir in exchange for hundreds of lives saved and the rightful king on the throne?
Taking a step forward, he placed a hand on Daeron's shoulder. "My advice? We tell Lord Gormon and then you bury it. If the enemy get a hold of it, it will cause even more deaths and even my head. He will know how to erase this rumor for good. As for your sister." Addam quickly glance at the sword in Daeron's hand before changing his mind just as quickly. No, not yet atleast. "She a Starkwood, and their actions at the Black Tourney should be warning enough. Maybe she different, maybe she not, but she should be convinced that there is little to gain by spreading this as gossip."
Edit: Good to go

Pretending to ignore Addam's glances at his sword he ponders his words.
"I can assure you that the links were not easy to make. Only through the concentrated efforts of our house at Gardenton, my own efforts afterwards, and Lady Laena's methods could we discover these connections. However, I think you are right, Lord Gormon will need to be informed that Harrot has been compromised. If he is in fact our man, then I imagine that he will make the merchant 'disappear' and at least bring some form shadow of justice to the victims of the Hooded Man.
And you're correct, the scales still weigh in favor of Ser Daemon, but we cannot permit our fight for chivalry to be soiled by blackguards. We are just servants of the True King, but I believe that Blackfyre deserves to know the affairs of his servants. As king it is his responsibility to make decisions and ours to inform him. As for Lord Willem, I'm divided on what to do."

“There are blackguards in every cause. Always has always will. All we can do in the end is ensure we do what is right and that Daemon sit the throne.”
Addam frowned at his cousin. There was no questioning his loyalty to the cause, but did he have the resolve to his it through? “Word from court is Bloodraven wants to take more drastic actions against us, but it’s Ser Butterwell that prevents him from acting. Publicly atleast. Maybe this merchant was acting on Bloodraven’s guidance.”
“Lord Willem could careless about this infomoration. Gods, even when I told him people wanted him dead he asked for proof. If you do tell him, don’t expect a guiding, expect to be ask for proof. And to me, doing business with a merchant, not matter in what capacity, is not enough.

Daeron found that his cousin could be brash and foolhardy, not that those were traits that he of all people could fault others for. Today though he spoke true.
"You are right cousin. Once this affair with Lady Lysette and her wedding is settled and Lord Starling no longer needs my sword, I have thought to seek out my brother and offer my sword to him. If our information is correct then he will need solid men around him to guide him and keep him safe. Please keep this to yourself though. My plans are not out of disloyalty to Lord Willem or this house, but out of duty. A duty to do what is right. Thank you for helping me stay the course."
Slightly edited some of the phrasing to reflect that Daeron is considering departing House Starling, not explicitly planning on it.

Addam stiffened at the mention of Daeron's plans, but perhaps it was whats best for House Starling. Better a house united under the false king than a house divided in these turbulent times. "I do not fault you cousin. Lord Willem has taught us that each man must do right. I am certain that he see your departure as a victory, that one of his own has moved on to expand upon the virtue of righteousness he has instilled upon us."
"With you joining your brother, me becoming Lord Protector of Oakenshield, and Alicent undoubtedly growing bored of Kingsbridge and dragging Roland off, Kingsbridge will become much quieter. Fear not though, the companions will continue to excel as they always have, and who knows, maybe in time when my son has come of age and King Daemon has no farther and Roland finding married life unbearable, we will return home to gallivant around the Reach once more as brothers in arms."

He again gives a laugh out loud.
"I would hope so, what a terror we would be at the lists. As for departures, it is still an idle fantasy until Lord Starling and I both feel that my service is no longer needed. I hope that his neutrality in the coming struggle will keep these lands safe rather than isolate allies, otherwise I might end up spending the war patrolling our lands against raiders from Longtable or elsewhere."
As devoted as Daeron was to his half-brother's cause, he could not imagine himself breaking his oaths to House Starling, even if it kept him out of the war. However, like many men his destiny often led him beyond his imagination.

"I'm sure Lord Willem will eventually come to his senses and ride forth to join his strength to the cause, but until that day, I'll make sure to leave some of our foes for you." When the war breaks out, Addam had no intentions of staying behind. His ambitions laid outside the walls of Kingsbridge.
OOC: A little belated, but no time like the present to wrap the scene up. /Scene for me unless you have something else you want to add.
