Located downriver from Highgarden (allegedly because the Gardener Kings wanted the offal and smell not to float past them), Gardenton is the largest settlement in the Reach after Oldtown, while it is less populous than White Harbor or Gulltown, it is wise not to try to correct locals claiming otherwise, and for certain it is cleaner and more orderly. It's walls are stronger than most castles, and it's militia is well trained and equipped. For the most part it serves as a way-station of the various produce that is exported from the abundance of the Tyrell lands and the wharfs tends to be bustling with activity. There is also a considerable import of luxuries and exotics, perhaps half of such things entering Oldtown finds it's way here to be bought by Tyrells and other Reacher nobles further inland. The number of master craftsmen residing here rivals that of Oldtown and King's Landing. Merchants and travellers considers Gardenton as the most expensive place to stay in all of Westeros.
