Lynesse accompanies a small Blackbriar contingent to one of the many smaller festivities held following the so-called "Black Tourney". She preened self-consciously in a new dress, sporting the colours of House Blackbriar that denoted her Wardship, and blushed prettily when passing knights would bid her good day. Far away from the more turbulent courts of Hightower and Highgarden, and out from under the bootheel of her uncle Eustace, it was a chance for Lynesse to be seen as a Lady in her own right that she fully intended to capitalise on. She exchanged pleasant words with old acquaintances from Oldtown, and was suitably impressed at the display of arms before the tourney commenced. Lady Lynesse have some interesting choices. Lord Owen Roxton a widower, though reports suggests he has no intention of remarrying, some consider such a thing odd on account of him having no son of his own, but he is said to have brushed aside scores of proposals, perhaps to not create any conflict with his daughters? The man is a fine knight, able to match almost any man with Widowmaker in hand, but in the joust he is an outsider.
Ser Normyn Flowers might be more interesting as far as marriage prospects go, but the Great Bastard is likely to have a chance at more favorable marriages despite black accusations of his relationship with his brother's wife, a highly capable jouster, though an outsider rather than a favorite.
The one favorite whose attention she catches is a jouster of foul repute. Ser Simon Tarly is her best chance of being crowned the Queen of Love and Beauty, but the man took out his frustrations on his squire after being eliminated at the Black Tourney, savagely beating him bloody. He also rode in the honor of a bastard, a half-dornish bastard at that, Lady Alena Flowers is buxom and beautiful, if such a word can ever be used to describe a dark skinned harlot, and her promiscuity is a thing of legend. He rode for her only to get to tilt at what's beneath her skirts, surely.

Lynesse let Ser Tarly ride on with little more than a polite smile. A violent temperament was not uncommon among knights, especially of so notable a marcher house, but it simply would not do to share a single degree of separation with the likes of Alena Flowers.
Ser Normyn had a fair countenance and manner about him. As a Great Bastard, he carried with him the obvious gravitas of his bloodline. Some whispered of his bond with his brother's wife, but such things were often whispered of lesser brothers of greater prominence. Still, Lynesse was wary of drawing the attention of a man with so many likely enemies. In those she possessed a wealth already.
Lord Roxton seemed a reserved man, but strong for all his quiet. Moreover, if he considered the wellbeing of his daughters in his own decisions, Lynesse marked that a stroke of genuine nobility. She bid him good luck, and laughed at a small jest he made in passing. "Noble Lord, would you bear this small token on my behalf?" she asked smiling with a warmth that reached her eyes.
