A Chronicle is a major storyline confined to a defined time period and space, typically bringing all the PC's and most of the main NPC's together.
Off-Season (downtime may also be used as a term) is what happens between chronicles, it may have events and smaller storylines with a looser structure and generally fewer NPC's will be active in them. Outside events with explicit timing, benefits with once-per day effects will generally not apply. The rumor system is also generally not active during the off-season, but trying to learn information remains possible. Most of the rules that involves timing and chronological format assumes the setup of a chronicle, and thus other adjustments may apply as needed.
Chivalry/Virtue:
At the start of a chronicle, all temporary points gained before the end of the last chronicle are halved (round down).
At the end of a chronicle, all temporary points gained before the start of that chronicle are halved (round down).
Negative points are also reduced, but a rate at 1/4 (still round down).
Note that this affects total points earned, their diminishing effect on the score still applies. So if you have ten points at the start of chronicle 2, 7 of which where earned in chronicle 1, for a total of +4 score, the 7 are halved to 3, leaving you with 6 for +3 score.
Glory:
The glory track will reset at the beginning of a new chronicle.
If you have any unspent glory at the start of a new chronicle, it is possible to donate it as influence to a home house (generally your own), otherwise it will be given back to the character (3 points of unspent glory would then be added back to the score that has been re-set to zero, meaning one starts with 2 points of spendable glory in the next chronicle).
Equipment:
PC's will have the time to have any item that they can afford to buy crafted or provided to them in time for the next active event after purchases have been declared (within reason).
Destiny Points:
Refreshes at the end of a chronicle, during the off-season there may be one or two occurrences of a single destiny point being refreshed, but it also might not be any. There will generally not be any advance notification of any off-season refreshes or indications of how many there will be.
XP, Benefits and Drawbacks:
-XP can be used to buy ability and specialty ranks (and Destiny Points), or saved for later, benefits may be taken by investing DP, drawbacks taken to gain additional DP. Benefits and Drawbacks may also be exchanged for others, all changes requires narrator approval (This mostly comes into play to judge whether or not a drawback will hurt enough to count as such, and total number of additional drawbacks being taken on).
-During off-season, such changes will only apply for events and threads not yet posted, this also generally applies for interlinked events (like a "mini-chronicle").
-During an active chronicle, such changes are typically restricted for "emergency drawbacks" to avoid death or other consequences severe enough to threaten further participation of the PC in the chronicle/story.
-One may at any time burn a Destiny Point to remove a drawback.
