Daeron dare not show his face in the Bracken camp, but he still wished to speak with his half-brother, Ser Aegor to make sure that everything was being done to bring Highgarden to their cause, in an appropriate manner. He feared that the ham-fisted actions of Otho and Lord Leo’s general indecision threatened their chances of swaying the great lord. However, given Bittersteel’s tardiness to meet at their predetermined location, he feared that his opposition to the Brute might have also isolated him from the Great Bastard. His self-assigned mission too important in his mind, Daeron moves on hoping to find the other important Blackfyre supporter that might be lurking the halls of Highgarden, Lord Gormon Peake. Although he didn’t know Lord Peake as well as he knew Bittersteel, could the man really deny a simple request from a Great Bastard? Frustrated that he, a Great Bastard and partisan for the cause, could not obtain a meeting with either of the men, Daeron stormed out of the castle, too proud to seek a meeting with someone lower down.
He had wanted to make sure that proper marriages were being arranged between Lord Leo’s children and Blackfyre’s supporters and/or children to finally bring Highgarden into the fold, but all he could do now was hope that he wasn’t the only one with the same idea.

On his way out he made one final attempt to seek out a man of influence. He had not seen much of Fireball during the tourney, the previous day’s beating notwithstanding, but perhaps through him a message could reach the right ears. Highgarden Aflame-Meet Fireball: 6d6k3+6 16
