Lord Karl's body is washed and on display in the sept, soon the silent sisters will boil the flesh off his bones for Lord Benjen to bring him back home. Knights have stood vigil, prayers have been said. Kind words have been spoken. Lord Willum would be insulted. He died as he lived, chasing glory and adventure. His life is nothing for the history books or the measured words fit for the halls of The Seven. His life should be told by songs, his deeds recalled in the company of merry men and lustful wenches to the sounds of laughter and cups filled to the brim with the good stuff being clanked together.
Given the pent up demand for a jolly good time after this horrible tourney, the turnout is exceptional, inhibitions are lowered and propriety thrown at the window. The great bastards, Mya Rivers and Ysilla Flowers dances upon the tables, the heir to Storm's End partakes in the most bawdy of songs. Lady Mya has dragged her sisters Gwenys and Shiera here as well, though they seem mostly content to join Lady Alicent Yronwood in drinking quietly and observing their wilder siblings with amusement. Lord Durwell brings his sister Daena here as well, making sure to extract a promise that she will stay on the tables with the other "spectators" before joining in with Redtusk and The Laughing Storm in bawdy songs.
-All parts of this event are optional unless otherwise noted (drawbacks will attempt to make you partake in certain parts, sometimes one part requires that you also do another). -You should mention which parts of the event that you skip (if any). -You cannot have negative Event Points from one part (so if you get more simple failures on drinking that you get EP for number of servings, you get 0 EP from that part). -This thread should be reserved for actions and rollings, interactions between characters should be played out in separate scenes. -Abelar will be thrown out if he attempts to join. Get Merry like Lord Karl!-This requires you to partake in "Drink Like Lord Karl!" and take at least enough servings that the virulence is large enough to have a theoretical chance of inflicting penalty dice. -Gain +1D to all Persuasion tests during this event (though a few specific NPC's are immune to this effect, as noted below.) -But you also gain your choice of Lascivious or Vainglorious drawbacks for this event, or the automatic failure on it's test if you have it. (If you have both, you must then fail on one of them, if you have one, you may chose between automatically failing on the test or picking up the other one). -If you go for this option, all tests in this event must be marked by L or V to signify which drawback you picked (or chose to automatically fail). Drink like Lord Karl!-You may take as many servings of ale as you like. -If you take a number of servings equal to twice your endurance rank, make an Endurance(Resilience) test at TN 9, repeat this test adding a cumulative +3 each time you take an additional number of servings equal to your endurance rank, on a critical failure you pass out. -The total number of servings taken are used to determine the alcohol attack as per poison rules for ale, however, for each four servings beyond twice your endurance rank, reduce the virulence by three and increase the toxicity by one. -Whoever can take the most servings before passing out gains +1 glory. -A lady that passes out suffers -1 virtue -A lady that drinks enough to have to test Endurance and does not pass out gains 4 event points. -Gain 3 event points per six servings taken. -Lose 1 event point per simple failure on an endurance test. -You pass out after having the chance to partake in everything else this event has to offer. -Vainglorious: You must test for this in order to not partake or to voluntarily stop. Sing like Lord Karl!Endurance (Stamina) TN 9 Persuasion (Charm) TN 9 -Gain 1 event point per DoS. Wrestle like Lord Karl!Fighting (Brawling) TN 9 Athletics (Strength) TN 9 -Gain 2 event points per DoS -Highest total DoS: +1 Glory -Per Critical failure: Reduce glory won in this event by 1 (minimum 0) -Ladies suffer 1 virtue if joining in. -This counts as strenuous activity for healing injuries/wounds. -Vainglorious: If having 3 or more ranks in Fighting and Athletics, you must test to avoid partaking. Dare like Lord Karl!Simple intrigue (Taunt, non deception) TN 9, may also resolve against the intrigue defense of a participating NPC (or PC with their permission). -Gain 2 EP per DoS, +2 per +3 TN from situational modifiers due to audacity if successful, +1 EP per point above 9 of intrigue defense of target of specific character. -Objective should be something lighthearted and in reasonably good sport, otherwise suffer -1 chivalry/virtue and -2 disposition from your target. -You may opt for using deception specialties, if so you do not gain any EP, and you suffer no chivalry/virtue if achieving a result of 13+ -Zealot: Must test in order to avoid using this option to advance your goals. -Vindictive/Furious: Must test in order to avoid using this option to get back at someone who wronged you (if such an NPC is present). "Heres to all the sorry buggers in the ground and here's to us all staying out of it!" The walls and beams of the Golden Rose where creaking from the rumpus, bearly containing all the celebratory Lords, Ladies, knights and maidens - letting go as if the world was ending. Perhaps it was, but bugger that, the wine was flowing, the ladies were smiling and the lads were getting rowdier by the minute. Now this was a fucking feast. His duties as Captain of the Guard had kept him busy most of The Black Tourney - Balon, the dumb glorious bastard, probably never realised that killing one of the king's favourite sandbuggers meant an increase in guards duties and tons of more work for Eoric. Not that anyone cared. But now that shitfest was coming to an end and Eoric was going to enjoy it. The more he drank - and he drank a lot more than one would expect or deem suitable - the louder and more familliar he got. Eoric was a small man, standing about a head below the avarage man or more so if next to a Blackbriar or Baratheon, but that never stopped him. He wrestle and drank with the biggest of them, revelling in the glory and satisfaction when he beat the bastards and was drunk enough to ignore it when he lost and simply stumbled onto and (attempted to) sweet-talk and wench or bastard he came across. Throwing a coin at the troubadours he requested, nay demanded The Dornishman's Wife played more than a half-dozen times, each time hollering the lyrics while trying to dig his scarred face between any two tits - one time it even worked! Finding himself drinking with Symon Starkwood - "Symon the SLAYER!" he belted, filling their cups whilst slapping the half-blood on the back - hard. This was one of his favourite past-times: egging young, dumb cunts on. The Scorpionbane had always been a cruel bastard and no doubt, if anyone deserved a tourney sword jammed in their face, it was him and somewhere Eoric admired the young Starkwood for it. Somewhere. But this was the Reach, Ser Lambert was a reachman and the little shit had killed him in a hissy-fit about daddy, who was fine. Fuck that. It's with all smiles, laughter and friendly encouragement he pushes the young Starkwood, but with enough of an edge, enough of a patronising challenge for the boy to drink himself into a heedless stupor. What would come of it, Eoric didn't bother with - he was to shitfaced himself but atleast the piss-ant wouldn't be so cocky anymore. Seeking out the willing wench from before, Eoric tries to make a subtle exit but he was never one for discretion. But honestly, who gives a flying fuck? Post by Laena Pyre on Jan 5, 2019 1:50:19 GMT 1
[Note: RP above, rolls below] Laena had had a ... trying day. And this party was just the excuse she needed to throw away her worries, and enjoy herself. After all, what were the chances this day could get *worse*? For once, she let herself get seriously drunk, fortunately keeping enough self-control that, while impaired, she did not end the night comatose. While not quite central enough to be the life of the party, she charmed, sang, toasted, and lightly flirted the night away. He didn't quite notice when she'd showed up but Laena was standing beside him. They talked for awhile before he leaned in and whispered, "I dare you to get up on the tables with Mya and Ysilla and dance for me." He pulled away from her ear and gave her a wink and a nod up to her half-sisters. "Or is the dragon scared?"Laena sniffs at him. "Your transparent attempt at manipulation is as crude as it is unnecessary." Though her somewhat amused tone robs the words of much of their fire, before she joins her sisters in their dance. Her relatively modest attire helps keep her movements shy of scandal, however loose through skill and inebriation they are. While she does pay particular attention to Balon - it was his dare, after all - she makes sure to spread her attention across the room, showing off her talent as much as possible. She also tries to synch up her movements to her sisters, to double the effect, particularly Ysilla, the sister she was closest to. There was dancing and Balon asked several women to dance though he made a concerted attempt to dance with Gwynesse Grimm, one of the most beautiful women in the Reach. While he did he was very flirtatious and looked to see if Laena was watching, and more importantly if there was any sign of jealousy. By the time Balon found Laena, she was happily dancing with Ser Daemon Blackfyre himself, seemingly oblivious to whoever he had found to dance with. How deliberate the timing of the dance was was a matter of opinion. Finally he settled in with Laena, dancing, telling dirty jokes, and she had a dare too. By this time of night, Laena was convinced she had the *greatest* idea ever. "Sister!" She greets Ysilla. "These stupid men can't wave a twig at each other without shedding blood! Time for us to show them how it's done!" She thrusts an empty serving tray and a requisitioned broom with a towel wrapped around the end into her sister's hands. "Find a mount, we ride!" She gets a drunk, dopey grin on her face, and places her face next to her sisters, and points towards Ser Mikel. "I think that horsey in particular would be willing, but the choice is yours." Remembrance - L - Dare - For RP - Fighting (Lances): 2d6 9Remembrance - L - Dare - For RP - Agility (Balance): 3d6 7For some strange reason, convincing Ser Balon to spend time between her thighs as she rode his shoulders (albeit with her skirt between the two of them) was not hard at all, and she managed to prove her very, very important point by completing their 'joust' without maiming anybody, even themselves. Fresh off her victory, she felt a familiar burning hunger, for something a bit more scandalous than food, though no less vital, at least according to her. Fortunately, Lord Marq was around! Unfortunately, he seemed more interested in moving his tongue than his hips, and not even in the fun way! Come the next morning, she couldn't quite remember what he'd said, she was split between not wanting to take advantage of how drunk she was (the charitable answer), and him having his eyes on another woman, for the sake of one of his uncountable schemes (the more plausible answer). Whatever the reason, she was very drunk, very horny, rather pissed off, and somewhat unloved when Balon came by. The end result was as predictable as it was unfortunate. After the beating he received in the melee, Ser Daeron was in no shape to be drinking and wrestling with half the Reach.. And yet there he was, permitting himself to let loose, putting aside politics and revolutions for one evening to celebrate the life of the most raucous man he had ever met. In the process the battered knight sang bawdy songs, got his ass kicked by the weird seneschal, and overall deepened the bonds that tied Westerosi nobility together. The blonde hair of Lady Tanselle drew his eyes, but it was her bust that grabbed his attention. Post by Ashara Starkwood on Jan 5, 2019 7:31:04 GMT 1
Ashara did not drink much. Indeed, she had not even been to the Golden Rose Inn before this evening. She also really didn't know Lord Karl. They had never met, though only the most oblivious did not know who he was and what sort of man he was. In normal times, she would not be here - but these were not normal times. She heard there would be dancing, and that was enough to convince her to go. The rest of what went on, she thought would not be for her. Despite the rumors and attitudes to the contrary, she was a proper lady. Well, mostly. That was the plan, at least. As any good general can tell you, however, plans tend not to last long after the first encounter with the enemy - and seeing Denyse Cordwayner and her alleged father here certainly qualified. Lord Karl would likely be dismayed that there were in fact any enmities at this event, but as someone much smarter than her had once said, once you are dead you don't have much say in what happens. If Lord Karl expected everyone to be friends - well, then he was a fool and a dreamer, but that was evident anyway - and he shouldn't have died. Or something like that. Ashara had not stuck to the plan, and being unaccustomed to alcohol, it had a greater effect on her than she had expected. It shouldn't be too bad though, with her brother, two cousins, and a number of friends here, they wouldn't let anything too bad happen to her... she hoped. greatbastards.boards.net/post/16010 (For reference to rolls made.) "WHAT FUCKING CUNT THINKS HE CAN OUT DRINK ME!" Balon roared with a mug of beer in each hand. If Karl had taught him anything in the short time they'd been friends it was how to have a good time. The first time he'd tried to go drink for drink with Lord Karl he'd been carried to his tent by Florent men. The second time he'd woken up in a booth at the Golden Rose. Now that Karl was gone Balon felt like he needed to take the mantle of King Drinker. Ale after ale went down, lowering his inhibitions and raising the volume of his voice. Balon smashed his mug together with others and toasted Lord Karl in all his reckless glory and love of life. "To Lord Karl! Three cheers for that magnificent bastard!"As Balon drank he began to sing. The Bear and the Maiden Fair, The Dornishman's Wife, which he finished with a raspberry and a thumbs down, and My Lady Wife. He sang a relatively unknown song, one he'd heard while at Starpike. It involved a knight and his inability to lie about his love of a lady's derriere. The knight in the song would argue with other knights how it was wrong to deny the righteousness of a nice butt to grab onto. His love of a lady's butt was so great he'd commission art pieces on them. It went on like this for some time and Balon hoped the song would catch on in the ale houses and winesinks of the Reach. He didn't quite remember when he took his shirt off but a space had been cleared out for men to wrestle and he was more than happy to oblige anyone that challenged him. He laughed when he won. He laughed when he lost. He laughed when he made an off-hand remark to a lady who promptly threw a drink in his face. Balon saw some braver ladies look like they wanted to join but figured none would take the proverbial leap. Their loss. Eventually he tired and put his shirt back on and went to the bar where he watched several women dance on the tables. He didn't quite notice when she'd showed up but Laena was standing beside him. They talked for awhile before he leaned in and whispered, "I dare you to get up on the tables with Mya an Ysilla and dance for me." He pulled away from her ear and gave her a wink and a nod up to her half-sisters. "Or if the dragon scared?"Some details to be added in a separate thread. There was dancing and Balon asked several women to dance though he made a concerted attempt to dance with Gwynesse Grimm, one of the most beautiful women in the Reach. While he did he was very flirtatious and looked to see if Laena was watching, and more importantly if there was any sign of jealousy. He bowed and thanked Gwynesse when they were done and he grabbed another drink and toasted Lord Karl, Ser Daemon and Restusk, and a slew of Fire supporting knights and lords. In his inebriated state he almost toasted Ashara but held his tongue in the end. He knew she was here and didn't want her to spoil the mood by yelling at him for being nice. Finally he settled in with Laena, dancing, telling dirty jokes, and she had a dare too. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ During the festivities he made sure to let everyone know it was he that had jumped into the Mander and rescued Lady Lyanna Levalle. It was the kind of selfless act you'd expect from someone who supported Ser Daemon Blackfyre. Hmm, where did everybody go? The drinking had been hard, and Seban had been caught in his own thoughts as the others dissapeared. Only him and the bitter old Eoric remained. His friends would be the cause of many irate fathers, and many regretfull wives tomorrow, but with the cold insecurities for the future seeping into all hearts, propriety seemed to be the last concern they all carried. His friends lacked the vision he had, for while they wasted their assets, and used all their wit for a night of warmth, Seban had a plan, a year in the making. Her pale complexion, her raven hair and tall, lithe frame put these immodest and immoral wenches to shame. She was like a purebred destrier, and they were like cast out mutts yapping in the streets. It took more to get a Destrier, sure, but how so lovely to have one! The red winestain on his shirt reminded him of how he had brought her to safety, before avenging her fathers death. He was decided, she needed a man to lead her through the tough time, and Seban was prepared. He was smarter by far than Donnel, and not too poor of a swordsman either, and had a dazzling smile and a nature women loved. She would be his! Rising up was hard, as his head started spinning. The a flagon of downish strongwine, which had made him cringe from the taste in the start, but which now flowed ever so gently down his gullet, provided him with the bravery he needed. One arm out in front to navigate the crowd, the other clinging to his flagon, going out to balance the threacherous footing of the wooden floor. Her laugh was heard before he saw her, and lured him closer. As he arrived, her chaperone was just busy removing a drunken bafoon, who thought the affection of a lady was an easy matter to win. "Ser Seban" He was greeted, and the words flowed as sweetly as honey into his ears. She was almost as tall as him, the blackbriar blood running strongly in her veins, and he had to stretch himself, disregarding the precarious footing, to rise even an inch above her. "Lady Delia." Seban tentatively tried to grab her hand, and his arm accidentally brushed against her bosom as he took her hand. "I understand your loss-" Seban got no longer, although tiptoeing for height, he was still caught flat footed by a slap. Seban falls to the ground, the dornish wine he had clung onto soiling what little of his garment was still untouched as he drops it. Shocked, Seban lifts his left hand to his face, where an angry red mark is appearing. In a dread moment of realization he finally understands what happened: just as he took her right hand in his, her left one had slapped him across his face. As the faces of the crowd turns towards the spectacle Seban staggers to his feet, and tries to make his escape, tears already forming in his eyes. No harm done to dance with him, Tanda figures, much to her later regret, for Ser Symon is in the best mood ever. He drank like a fish, sang like a bird, a pity that Lady Perianne did not feel like undressing, but can't fault a girl for not having the courage to put on such an audacious show as The Reach has never seen. He danced with Lady Gwynesse Grimm, a pity that he is the firstborn, for else he would surely marry her. And then she came on to him, Lady Tanda, perfect in every way, and he could feel the magic, he need only reach for the inside of her thigh and she would guide his hand up and in, and then take it and lead him towards the back. Instead she ended the dance with a slap to his face. His memories after this gets rather hazy.

Ashara is somewhat astonished that Tanda actually dances with Symon. The daughter of one of the three ringleaders of the Fire faction, dancing with the half-Dornish heir of a loyalist house? Almost unbelievable. It seemed that Lady Tanda was far less partisan than her father, good to know.
She had only meant it in good fun, really... and then Symon acted like an oaf. As much as she loved her brother, Ashara sometimes truly couldn't understand how he could be such an idiot - this was most definitely one of those times.
Rolling her eyes she walked over to Lady Tanda - elbowing Symon in the ribs as she passed by him. She might not like Lady Tanda's father much, but that didn't excuse her brother.
"My lady, I apologize for my brother's boorish behavior. Had I known he was honoring Lord Karl a bit too much I would not have even thought to subject you to him."

Ser Daemon goes about to see if he can't one-up everyone at drinking, clearly enjoying himself, Lady Mya is having the time of her life, glowing in the revelries, and attracting a small army of men hoping that she might be up for an after-party, her sister Gwenys is much more reserved, spurning Mya's urgings of really joining the party. Shiera Seastar joins in with reserved enthusiasm, but whispers things into Lady Ysilla's ear that made the wild dragon's face light up in wicked delight.

Lady Amerei had resolved to party lightly, as a lady should, but at the sight of Lady Tanda, a plan begins to form, what if she lost her maidenhead? She needs an agent to serve her needs, one that is a fine specimen hard to resist, and so high profile and unsubtle that discretion will surely fail! Ser Farman? No, too slick and smooth. She needs someone like Karl, The Laughing Storm of course! She takes a few cups, more than a few maybe, to build up a courage, and a few sweet words is all she needs for her agent to get to work, triumphantly she goes to dance with Lord Marq, but the drink makes her forget all about light partying, it feels just right, they will be husband and wife soon enough, why wait? Her plan goes off, almost without a hitch, except nobody notices Ser Lyonel leading Lady Tanda away for some private moments. Lady Ysilla needs no encouragement indeed, she makes a point to drink one more cup than Lyonel Baratheon, and being Ysilla Flowers means that the term ladylike has no meaning, she joins in on the wrestling to shock and amusement, the first knight brags that he will take her down gently, he lasts no more than a second, the second takes her more seriously but is outmatched, the third makes no such mistake but he yields screaming when she yanks his balls, at this point she declares that the only reason men had labeled such activities unladylike is that the notion of being beaten by a girl while screaming like a girl is so terrifying. She gets back at the Seastar by trying to make her have some fun too, but sister Shiera is all pretty and no fun, so she happens upon Lady Janna Hightower and decides to show her things that no septa would ever tell her about, mostly because those septa's would have been forced into the seven sisters instead, the young girl giggles nervously most of the time, but that's okay. Finally she gets brother Daemon up there on the tables with her and sister Mya. Roland Redwyne resolves to drink Ser Daemon Blackfyre under the table, the Great Bastard doesn't know his limits. Redtusk consumes half again as much as most other men of robustness consider to be the "safe" limit, and he is still feeling great! He sings, and wrestles, and dances and dares like Lord Karl loved, he also picks up his girl, or at least makes the efforts, Lady Alena would likely prefer someone less loud.

"To Lord Karl. A man who lived well if not cautiously."
It would be his only drink. Unlike others he did not need ale or wine to have a good time. Malyk loved parties; attending them, giving them. It was only recently he had discovered why, but the reasons did not matter. It was at gatherings like this that people were... realer... was that a word? While some people's behavior might be considered scandalous by some, he made no such judgement. No actions needed to be off-limits unnecessarily unless they seriously harmed others, or oneself. A degree of embarrassment later was a small price to pay in exchange for a moment of joy. He just wondered how much of that joy any of these people would remember on the morrow.
Malyk loved singing. He had a fine voice and a large repertoire of songs. He sang several that night, but the one that garnered the most laughter was of his own creation. The catchy tune belied the mocking tone. It was even a little bit sexy to counteract the man's fake piety. Some might have taken offense, but those who deeply supported Abelar were likely not at such a raucous event. It was a shame the man had not been allowed in, he'd like to have seen the look on the his face. The rather insulting song was sung with angelic sweetness; a easy tune to hum, and perhaps infectious. It was the final arrow he had in his quiver. Tomorrow they would be gone and he would move on to other concerns.
You're a mean one, Abelar You really are a heel You're as cuddly as a cactus You're as charming as an eel, Abelar You're a rotten apple with a greasy black peel
Just face the music You're a monster, Abelar Your heart's an empty hole Your brain is full of spiders You've got acid in your soul, Abelar I suspect a bridge in Gyldenhaal is missing a troll.
You're a foul one, Abelar You're a nasty stinking skunk Your eyes are full of venom Your soul is full of gunk, Abelar, ooh yeah
You're a vile one, Abelar You have poison in your smile You have all the tender sweetness of a plague-infested rat, Abelar Given the choice between you, I'd take the plague-infested rat plague-infested rat, woah
The three best words that best describe you, are as follows And I quote Sick Prick Dick
While he loved singing, he loved dancing more. His position meant he was not as intimidating as some of the nobility and knights here. He was also extremely handsome, although that counted for much less considering the glittering assemblage of attractive people that were in attendance. Still, he had no shortage of partners, and even asked a few of the more reticent ladies. He watched with amusement as some of the dance partners paired off and snuck out for other things. Given the circumstances, Malyk chose to decline such complications. They would be leaving tomorrow and he preferred to not have any serious regrets or attachments.
If he loved singing and dancing, he adored wrestling. There was something about two men in a physical contest, armed with nothing with their bare hands, that had always appealed to him. His lithe frame meant he didn't have the same athletic prowess as some, but his skill often made up for it and opponents often underestimated him. He managed to pin several larger men to the floor with only a little difficulty. If any were angry, the cheeky disarming smile looking down at them usually assuaged that.
For the most part, he simply enjoyed the party. Everyone was tense from the events of the tourney. Malyk was no different. It was healthy to let off some steam. Between the dancing, the singing, the wrestling and the talking he wandered the party ensuring everyone was having a good time. He even dared a few people to loosen up a bit; nothing overtly scandalous, but audacious enough to lay outside their comfort. Everyone should make a few harmless mistakes. It built character.
Your song continues, Lord Karl. Wherever you are, I think you would be proud.
