Ser Dagos is thin and wiry, appearing almost naked next to the fully armored Balon, wearing only a cuirass and plating on his wrists and shins, steel gauntlets and a half helm. He carries a spear and a small shield, his vision or movement unrestricted, there is grace and flexibility in his step as he begins to circle his foe, keeping his distance. Ser Jonothor warned Balon of what to expect, Ser Dagos intends to use the wide open field, packed hard by the constant trampling by men and horses, to use his greater mobility to frustrate and wear down his opponent while dodging blows. All Balon needs to do is to close the gap and take advantage of his foe's poor protection, but that will not be easy.
Dagos is a clever bastard and ensures that there's a distance of 8 yards between him and Balon at the start of combat. Initiative: 6d6k4-2 16CD: 11 AR: 5 Health: 9 |

My base movement is 4 yards. With 4 Bulk that is reduced to 2 yards with a sprint of 4 yards? The evidence was suspect at best and he'd been told Dagos was innocent but it wasn't like he could withdraw as champion. That'd be an insult to Lord Leo and considering the poor first impression Balon had made with the Lord of Highgarden Balon had no plans to do so. Allowing Dagos to take the black would be the middle ground between killing an innocent man and letting him escape the charges against him. While Balon was heavily armored Daogs was not. As Ser Jonothor had warned him, Dagos would try to tire Balon. It was a trick Balon wouldn't fall for. |

Dagos whips his spear towards Balon's knee, it glances off the metal, but the point was is get it between Balon's legs, he pulls it back violently to hook his foe on the inside of the knee and sends Balon off balance. Then he makes an attempt to strip Balon of his shield before, fleet of foot, he begins his little circle dance again.
CD: 11 AR: 5 Health: 9 Counterattack w/SF I&II, Knock, Knock: 5d6+1 15 No damage, but Balon is prone at 1 yds away. Strike at Shield: 9d6k5+1 18 5 damage to shield. Dagos moves 5 yards away so now it's 6 yards between them. |

Ser Dagos makes no sign to close the distance, that task falls upon Balon it would appear. Lord Walgrave shouts that he should stand and fight like a man, but most of the crowds recognize how utterly foolish it would be to follow such advice.

Ser Dagos does indeed not take any such bait.
Given how LBF I is written, it can't be activated before you actually make a fighting test.

Dagos attack is expected, but now against Balon's shield instead, the force is enough to throw him off balance.
CD: 11 AR: 5 Health: 9 Attack shield+knockdown w LBF II: 5d6+1 17That takes Balon's shield to 6/15 and him on his ass at 2 yards, it's 10k4 at range yeah. |
