"If ser must insist" He digs out a few coppers to pay for the ale, then slowly drains the cup. "Would be a shame to let any go to waste" he declares and wipes is mouth.
He gets up slowly, surprisingly calm for an ordinary man, but neither does he appear as nervous as a guilty man would be when caught. "If ser might be so kind to indulge me, what lady was attacked? I have heard about dead septas, dead lords, multiple dead in the jousting, a raping and a hundred accounts of noble ladies spreading their legs.

Daeron is unmoved.
"I'll have plenty of time to explain on our way to my camp. Now move!"
He motions with his sword to emphasize that last point.

"Fine, fine" He does start moving, but not with any enthusiasm. "So what exactly do I stand accused of being involved in? Ser must know that after a few rounds of questioning, even an innocent man might be saying whatever he thinks the questioner will be wanting to hear?"

Daeron gives a shrug. The “stonemason” wasn’t a noble (as far as he could tell) and therefore deserving treatment representative of his low status. In the end he expected that the Tyrells had ways of sorting out the truth from the lies and the guilty from the innocent. It was just his job now to deliver the man.
“The sooner you’re in custody, the sooner I’ll have time to explain everything to you, how about that?”
He’s clearly in no mood to engage the man in more conversation, certainly not this far from his camp or away from his allies.

"Or maybe there were no noble lady that was attacked, and you're just shaking me down for my gold, is that it?" He asks pointedly. "Because if so, we might as well do the transaction here and now and I don't have to walk too far back, or worry about being led to a place where nobody might chance upon seeing you strike me down" It sounds as if he actually does believe that this might be what Daeron is after, and he can hardly deny the lure of a quick and sure golden bribe over the uncertainty of a reward, hood and stubble is not a particularly solid description to go on.
I see your Blood of Valyrian enabled simple intrigue and raise it with a little stab at your avaricious drawback. Intrigue Iniative: 2d6 8Objective: Pay himself to freedom. Intrigue Defense 12 (+2 because act) DR 6 Will 9 Also: Free Acting: 6d6k4 20, is 2 DoS for +2 ID until you succeed on read target.

[D7] Happily Drunk - Read Target (awareness): 5#3d6 12 14 8 12 12 [D7] Happily Drunk - Read Target R2 (awareness): 5#3d6 7 13 14 10 12
[D7] Happily Drunk - Convince v. Lord Willum (Persuasion): 10#3d6 13 8 10 10 16 8 6 12 10 [/b] 8[/p]
[OOC: I put the rolls out quickly as possible and will fill in later. As this is my first intrigue I was not sure of what modifiers might be relevant so did not add any, but believed I picked the correct skill. Persuasion - convince, as he will be trying to convince Lord Karl to go on and on and on until, he hopes, the lady loses interest or his men decide it best to take him back to the pavilions. I believe I failed in 10 read target rolls, so assumed Mikel just wouldn't succeed and therefore did not add +1D to the convince rolls. Will fill in with IC narration when able to.]

Okay, so first read target is a success for Mikel as the TN is 8, giving him +1d6 on everything, so everything else is actually 4D, and +2 because of chivalry (Karl gets +3 for being a lord). So you can do 10#1d6+2 and add each of those to the corresponding 3d6 result. Drunk Karl Willum: Objective: Friendship (Charming Mikel away) Intrigue Iniative: 7d6k4 19 He goes first because Mikel can't match that. He also goes straight up charm. I'm doing the lazy bit and skipping the free intrigue action for him. I'll do his first action and then, then 10 rolls with assits. Alena Assists: 10#6d6k4 16 18 22 15 11 17 19 17 14 16 Should be success on each. As charming as a drunk can be: 6d6k3+3 19 10#6d6k3+5 23 18 19 19 22 18 11 22 22...So Mikel's ID an DR should be 11 and 4, with 14 composure, unless Mikel holds Karl in a high regard (disposition at +2 or higher) which he does 3*DoS influence, so 2 at 16+ and 5 at 21+, so round by round: 12-7-5-3-1-(-4)-(-6)-(-6)-(-11)-(-16) After his sixth round, you'll have to start taking frustration and it'll just go downhill from there. As you'll be needing to hit 19 to start whittling down his composure, it looks like you'll be losing.

Okay, reviewing possibilities, there isn't even a theoretical possibility of you winning with those rolls, so can iron out details later, but this means we can be moving forward. Also, Daeron choosing as he did means that the other thing also happens. Meaning we can proceed to day 8.

Dislike would add +2 to your persuasion tests as pointed out, which means he'll have to switch actions. Objective: Pay himself to freedom. Intrigue Defense 12 (+2 because act) DR 6 Composure: 3/9 Bargain: 6d6k4+2 19 Is 2 DoS for 8 influence dealt, 6 goes through.

Dislike would add -2 to your persuasion tests, doesn't change anything here. Objective: Pay himself to freedom. Intrigue Defense 12 (+2 because act) DR 6 Composure: 6/9 Read Target: 6d6k4 17 For +1D to further tests. [OOC: didn't we house rule this the other way? greatbastards.boards.net/thread/17/intrigue"When using the intimidate and taunt techniques, you receive the opposite bonus/penalty from disposition, it is easier to use these techniques against people you dislike and harder against those you like."]
