One of the main two talking points prior to day 1, the clash between the half-brothers Ser Aegor Rivers and Ser Brynden Rivers, Great Bastards, their father a king, their mothers Bracken and Blackwood, and their personal rivalry is said to be equally great as it is between those two houses at the worst of times. The suspense hangs heavy in the air as Bitterstel hefts his lance aggressively in a bid to crush his foe, though Bloodraven anticipates this and rides calmly as if riding at a quintain. His strategy serves him well, with Bittersteel leaving himself overexposed and overextended, Bloodraven's lance is placed well enough to make his balance fail him and to the ground he goes. Bittersteel leaves the field in a foul mood. Up in the stands, Mya Rivers quips that it's like first sex, lots of talking, very little action, and when it does happen, it's over too soon. More than one lady is shocked at the comment, but several can't help but giggle.
