Addam watched Ser Roland's tilt against Fireball from the list's entrance gate. While Ser Roland was his sworn brother-in-arms, he was disappointed to see one of Ser Daemon's men fall so quick. As Ser Roland was leaving the list, Addam quickly took Verity's reins from the squire assisting the knight. "Ser Roland, if you have a few moments I would like to discuss the matter you had me look into." Addam didn't elaborate farther until they were out of earshot from the crowd. "Your sister was the subject of quite a few conversations last night after the hunt. While most comments are far to vulgur to repeat, one knight did have a different tale from the rest. It seems that your sister didn't visit the Redweyne's camp the first night. Instead it was some pretty Dornish girl that started the rumor. I didn't catch a name, but there was only a handful that were present that first day."

Roland nodded as Addam took control of Verity, shared service having built trust between him and the Valyrian blooded knight.
"I am grateful you found the time Ser."
He listened patiently, first frowning then smiling in relief.
"You have done me, my niece and House Cordwayner a service Ser Addam. We can state with high confidence that her good name is clear, not that I ever doubted the matter."
"I had heard similar talk of a Dornish schemer, so it is good to have it recounted without my telling influencing your search."
Roland's tone now turned grave.
"I feared Lady Ashara Starkwood was responsible for such calumnies, as few here meet the precise description I gained of a graceful, dark haired, long limbed Dornish woman."
[OOC: Awareness (Empathy) TN 8 to notice Roland's tone shift from his usual anti Dornish sentiment, 2 DoS picks up some attraction/fondness that seems to trouble Roland]
"I confronted Lady Ashara about this matter, and now fear she is as much a victim as House Cordwayner from those playing at politics, for she swears it was not her."
"By some mummer's trick, someone seeks to both discredit House Cordwayner and set us against Lady Ashara, newly betrothed to join our ranks. Although it must be a most convincing piece of mummery, or perhaps something darker..."
Roland pauses and looks around, his tone remaining serious.
"Sorcery perhaps. Some witchcraft or glamour."
[OOC: I've been intrigued in to believing there's more afoot/that Ashara is at some risk, so the above is Roland's way of squaring the results of his investigation with his intrigue defeat.
Totally up to Addam if he's as credulous as Ser Roland.]

Helping a Brother Awerness: 3d6-3 6 What change in tone?
Addam could only laugh at Roland's gullibility. "You are a fool Roland, honorable, but a fool. I do not know if it was Lady Ashara who spread these foul rumors,but..." Shaking his head in disagreement "I think it is unwise to presume anyone innocence based solely on their word, especially the word of the Dornish." [OOC: Not sure how you want to handle the intrigue, but Addam going to try and convince you to keep all possibilities open. He fine with you thinking she is the least likely suspect.]

"You speak truly Ser Addam, fair form can hide foul words, but I spoke to Lady Ashara and am convinced she is under some threat, even if I did not wring the full truth form her. Even if she had some hand in this it was due to some dagger that forced her to move, and we have seen from the attack on Lady Alicent that such daggers are all too real. Ashara and House Cordwayner are the victims here, not the plotters. I do not think we should stand here and besmirch the name of a maid in peril." "I should seek out Ser Hugh and see to my armour and the ransom won, but thank you for the advice." Roland moved to depart, but not before hearing out any final warning from his fellow Companion. [OOC: Roland flubs his Romantic roll, and therefore isn't minded to stay for a long winded argument D4 - Romantic - TN12 to stay for Addam's intrigue: 3d6 5. Therefore I probably have to Quit to respect my previous full intrigue loss, at least until presented with evidence/testimony to the contrary. A simple intrigue roll against my TN 10 intrigue defence seems reasonable as we depart: Roland trusts Addam given their shared service, while a non-friend/house member would probably just get hit with the full Quit.]

Addam was a bit taken aback by Roland's steadfast belief, but never the less offered a respectful nod in agreement. " Well than, I will leave it up to your discretion. Should you ever need my assistance with anything in the future, don't hesitate to ask." Offering a firm handshake. "I wish you good fortune in the rounds to come."

[OOC: Addam going to respect Roland's unwillingness to discuss the matter since he doesn't even know if it was Ashara and its not his house.]

Roland felt tension leave his body, relieved at Addam's decorum on the matter.
"My thanks Ser Addam, you are a true Companion in both name and deed. You too, Ser, you too."
