Filled with excitement and a nervous energy for the joust, Daeron sizes up the young knight climbing into his horse across the list. He'd heard good things about Ser Vardis and his family. He wanted a clean quick victory, but he had no desire to embarrass him. Looking over at Lady Woodwright, he gives her a salute, intending to earn her favor. Rolls:KYO-Vardis Wythers-Cunning: 3d6 8

Ser Vardis Wythers is an accomplished knight, one Daeron cannot remember having seen in action before, a though match most likely awaits.
Passive Ride: 18 AR: 10 Health: 12/12
Applies heightened stakes for +3 TN for staying in saddle for both.

Seated comfortably in the saddle, Daeron casts his gaze across the yard. DamnSer Vardis was clearly a more accomplished rider than him. Though no slouch himself, growing up on a rocky island afforded Daeron fewer opportunities to train as a rider than most of his counterparts in the Reach. I hope he's not as skilled with his lance as he is his horse. My best bet would be to win a battle of attrition.Hoisting his shield emblazoned with the Starling sigil and raising his lance, Daeron kicked his spurs into Argent, powering the warhorse down the list. Crunch:

Ser Vardis' lancework is not as good as Daeron's, but his horsemanship is stellar, making this a very even match. Heightened Stakes, Noble: 5d6k3+4 17 1 DoS, no damage but TN 13 to stay in the saddle means Daeron is in trouble. stay in saddle: 6d6k4 17 stays in saddle Passive Ride: 18 AR: 10 Health: 12/12

*I’m going to spend a DP to make Ser Vardis fall from his saddle so we can continue the duel on foot.*

Ser Vardis seems to have won when Ser Daeron falls off, but for several long seconds he struggles to regain his own seat, ultimately failing. The crowd cheers at the prospect of swordplay. Initiative: 3d6k2-4 7Combat Defense: 9 (Large Shield). CyB: 4d6k3 10Health: 10/12 Let's say combat begins with a 2 yard distance, swords drawn. It's generally bad form to bring a greatsword to resolve a jousting match. You take 5 damage from falling off the horse and can do catch your breath action before the fun begins. Hmm, with him having -1D..he's going to get messed up. Might as well fast forward to him yielding?

Ser Vardis’ lance less knocks him from his seat and more pushes him off. Regardless of semantics, Daeron finds himself tumbling from Argent and gasps as the wind is knocked from his lungs. DamnHe thought that he had lost the match, especially with the cheers of the crowd.. until he heard the other thud of Vardis hitting the ground. Opening his eyes he scrambles to his feet motioning to a squire to fetch him his blade. Struggling to draw the sword from its sheath, Daeron simply snatches the whole thing from the boy’s grasp and with a flourish of his wrist he sends the sheath flying as he stalks forward. This was his chance to make up for his poor horsemanship and he wasn’t about to ruin it. Charging in, he swings his sword in a high arc at Ser Vardis. Rolls:CD: 10 AR: 9 Health: 11/12 If it's kosher can I just use the CYB roll from earlier? Initiative vs Ser Vardis-Agility (Quickness): 4d6k3 17Charge vs Vardis-Fighting (Swords): 8d6k4+1 20 (3 DOS) Damage: 7 per DOS

One strike of the sword is all Daeron needs, Ser Vardis fails to react quickly enough to block it and the blow leaves him on the ground, and he makes no move to get up under his own power.
Initiative: 7 Combat Defense: 9 AR 10 Health: -1/12
Defeated.

Daeron seems to be equally surprised that he felled Ser Vardis with a single blow as he was gearing up for a second swing. Taking a knee to inspect the injuries, he calls over a maester to make sure that his noble opponent suffered no serious harm from his stunning stoke.
As Vardis is taken from the field Daeron leaves a message with his squire indicating that he’d like to meet with him once he’s feeling better. Following this he offers a proud bow first to Lady Woodwright and then to Lord Wythers in honor of his gallant son.

Lady Shiera comes down to tie a ribbon around his armor. "Well fought, ser."
Destrier and Full Plate worth of ransom.
+1 chivalry, +2 glory, and now at +3 Disposition from Shiera.
Just a note that "Lady Woodwright" is the wife of Lord Woodwright, their daughter would never be addressed or spoken of as such.
