Verity was nervous, turning up rocks with her forelegs despite the mount's experience. He patted his steed in an attempt at reassurance. Attempting to avoid any similar feeling at facing the redoubtable Fireball, Roland dipped his lance at the Hightower contingent and gestured towards lady Janna's favour, offering a slight bow from his saddle. Rather than the Starling tunic he favours or the Cordwayner colours he sometimes complements them, Roland again wore the simple grey tunic he had stood vigil in, close to Hightower's own crest. However, his shield still Starling arms alongside House Cordwayner's boot. Ser Quentyn Ball, a strong knight, had never had all that much interest in the joust, claiming that in a real fight, all that training was wasted. He is very good horseman all the same, but not nearly good enough to remain seated after Ser Roland's well placed blow. Seldom had he kept his mount so well, stout even as Ser Quentyn broke his lance with a solid blow. Ser Roland trotted back to the Hightowers, gesturing at lady Janna's favour and thumping his heart twice with a gauntlet in triumph. The songs are true, I even ride better carrying a favour from a lady noble in both birth and heart. He offered but a slight bow to Ser Quentyn from his seat: the man was a skilled knight but also a braggart who had disrupted a holy ceremony. Ser Quentyn doesn't seem to care much, he knew his odds going in, and would have accepted that gamble. He mumbles something about the squire delivering the ransom and leaves.
He's got a Destrier and Full Plate to ransom. +1 Chivalry, +1 Glory
