Alliser was washing himself in the basin, fresh water having been pulled and warmed just in time for him to freshen up after the joust. His wife was sitting on the bed, watching his hand dip with small washcloth to the water and back to his form to scrub the sweat and dirt from his form. He applied the lavender oil to his underarms and neck, then chewed on some mint preparing for market. Alliser walked past the bed where Delena was waiting giving her hand a small squeeze he kisses her forehead, "I will be back soon my love," he then leaves, attaching his belt with his heavy coin purse and sword to his hips. He then makes his way towards Gardenton, one of his guards accompany him.
They search through the market for one of the best sword smiths in Gardenton, as Alliser was seeking someone to craft a blade for his brother and only wanted the finest for the mighty hunter of the white Stag.

It was easy to pick Malyk out in a crowded market. Today he was dressed almost entirely in pink and white. His expertly tailored brocade jacket probably had been red a one point. The fabric had, in fact, been dusty rose when it had been a brocade cover on Alys' bed for many years. The Senechal wasted nothing and the Levalle tailor was rumored to be very fond of the boy, so always did his best with whatever cast off he was brought. It helped that Malyk was so attractive. Not many could pull off a knee length cherry blossom pink jacket, but Malyk could.
Malyk loved many things, but clothes ranked among his favorites. Nothing made the man happier than new clothes. His room at the manor amounted to a glorified closet that happened to have a bed. It was the one way that Lord Alliser had managed to find to reward the Senechal, and since most of the fabric procured would have been thrown out anyway, it was an easy way to keep the boy happy.
Squire Albion was with him, helping with the days shopping, judging by the numerous packages he was burdened down with.
"The teapot is fake," said Malyk with casual conviction. "But I will take it anyway with the matching cups. The Tyrell cook is looking for one like it and she deserves a little something."
The merchant didn't even blink at the offered price, which was eminently fair for what it was. Few argued with the insightful Senechal. Better to accept a fair price than be reported to the guards, not that Malyk ever had or would.

Lord Alliser smiles at the young vibrantly dressed Senechal. After he had conducted his business Alliser made his way over towards the fresh faced man and called out to him. After garnering his attention he warmly claps the shoulder of the black eye, "I see you have already made your way through the market and gotten your supplies for the day. I have a favor to ask of you." Lord Alliser gestures over towards the tanners district and begins walking, "We happen to have a magnificent hide in our possession. Ser Aladale has no need of it, nor do I. it would sure be a pity to loose such a beautiful thing, or to have it locked away in some room only to be admired by the cleaning staff." There was little dust in castle Levalle, thanks to the rigorous standards that Malyk had adopted so the hide collecting dust would be a non issue.

"My Lord, I agree. Perhaps some hunting leathers for Lady Ellyn? It would look lovely with her hair and eyes and will remind everyone what House brought down the white stag whenever she wears it. She is also, as yet, unmarried. An example of your wealth and power, perhaps a subtle indicator of her dowry, would not go amiss. The reminder of her purity would not hurt either."

"I was thinking of hunting leathers for yourself," Lord Alliser gives a warm smile to Malyk "Without your actions and planning there would be no hide to give. What more fitting tribute to your skills and talents then to wear the very hide you helped procure?"

The first look on Malyk's face was utter shock. Such a reward had not even crossed his mind. He stood there looking at his Master, his head tilted to one side as if he handn't truly heard correctly.
The second look was his brow furrowing. Lord Alliser could plainly see the war between his desire, the potential insult of refusing such an honor, and his duty to House Levalle. Predictably, the duty won out.
"My Lord, I am grateful you think of me so highly, but the hide is a rare and costly thing. There are many ways you might put it to your advantage."
Not an outright refusal... an opportunity for the Lord to reconsider... and giving his Lord his council, as was his duty.

Lord Alliser smiles God's blessings on his head, it is a wonder that such a selfless man found his way to stone harbor, "I have made up my mind and discussed things with my brother. We both agree that your part in the bunn was invaluable, for you not only organized the hunt but found the Huntsman that brought us to the stag."
Lord Alliser gestures towards the stench wafting from the leather working district, "shall we go get you fitted for your new armor?"

"As my Lord wishes." He smiled. He tried, and failed to hide his pleasure at the prospect.
He turned to Albion. "Take the packages to the pavillion and then deliver the tea set to the Tyrell kitchens with my compliments. I won't ask anything more of you since you fully intend to sneak off to the wrestling today."
Lord Alliser's squire gave no surprise at the Senechal's talent for mind reading. He was used to it by now. "Will you be competing? You are one of the best in our House."
Malyk shrugged. "Perhaps. They say such competitions are for the common people, but they are usually won by some Knight anyway, against which most smallfolk can't compete. I suppose it's an opportunity to test how good you are against a Knight when he isn't encased in metal. I'm not sure why they even enter, to be honest. The prizes are a pittance compared to the joust and it can't do a Knight's reputation much good if he loses to a farm boy from Appleton."

Laughing at the idea of a knight loosing to a farm boy Alliser asks, "Well if you do intend on competing, let me know. I am sure Lady Delena would love to see you knock some knights from their high horses." Clearly bemused at the thought he continues, "Squires and knights do like to have a little harmless fun now and again. But it is rather unfair towards the smallfolk." Giving it some thought he continues, "To make it sporting, if you do go I will give you some gold dragons to pass out as a reward. Any man who competes well but is not noble, give him one of these. Alms for the humble of spirit yes?"
[if Malyk does attend, I will give him 4 gold dragons. One for each contests (besides the horse racing) to be given out to whomever scores the highest and is status 1]

"If my going will make Lady Delena happy, then I should be happy to, and your offer is very generous. It would be life-changing to many of them." Malyk would now be going for that reason alone.

"Bah," giving a small chuckle he waves away the last comment, I spendt more then that on my last tunic, "I am just glad that she will have some real entertainment. Regyn does his best, but he is not the wrestling type. He prefers fancy words and smooth handwork." Giving a grin that shows his white teeth he continues, "But lets go see a man about a suit. Then it is off to the swordsmith to get Aladale his new sword."

As they traveled through the market, Malyk pondered. "Have you considered, my Lord, giving Lady Delana some duties to alleviate her boredom? I'm not sure what she would be interested in, but I would think living in idle luxury would become very tedious after a while. In smallfolk homes, the wife generally runs the home and the family finances. In your case, you run the finances, and I run your home. That must be difficult for her. I think I would go crazy if I had nothing to do all day." The last statement was made without any irony. "Have you considered giving her a project? It could be anything really... charity work, or perhaps overseeing the merchant guilds and lifting the burden from you. She is a woman not without considerable talents."

Considering his words Alliser comments, "I did not think of such things. That is why you are worth the white stag hide." They continue onwards, making their way through the crowd as he ponders the younger man's words. "I agree that needle work might begin to bore my wife. What do you think would be more stimulating for her?"

"I would not presume. The choice should be hers." replied the Seneshal. "She is intelligent and very fond of social gatherings. Perhaps she might be in charge of the various festivals. We might even increase the number of festivals to monthly, which should increase trade dramatically and please your people a great deal. That is just a suggestion, of course. My advice is that you ask her what would please her. People are always happier when they can choose their own purpose in life rather than have it chosen for them. I'm sure with some thought and the opportunity, she will find something that will give her fulfillment."

"these are all good ideas. Perhaps we can discuss this later with her?"
