When the Tourney master read out the matches of Round 1, Ser Aladale swallowed hard. He didn't know a lot about Ser Ormond, except for the fact that he was a cousin of the main Hightower family and a very good fighter. He had hoped to draw an easier opponent, but what could he do now. Before he ordered his squire to ready his armor, he made a quick round on the Tourney grounds. Maybe he could learn a bit more about his opponent's weaknesses, the Seven knew he would need all the help he could get. KYO Ormond Hightower (Streetwise): 5d6k3 14

As Ser Aladale had feared, Ser Ormond is a formidable opponent with no weaknesses or habits for him to exploit, perhaps on the unimaginative and conservative side which an equally skilled jouster might be able to take advantage of. Most consider the match so much of a done deal that finding someone willing to take a bet on Ser Ormond is nigh impossible. Every now and then, however, upsets did happen.

Volunteer handler should go with noble technique, Ormond isn't the type for trying anything fancy.

It did not look very good for Aladale. His research had only confirmed what he already feared: His opponent outclassed him by far. But he wouldn't go down without a fight, that much was sure. He looked into the stands where he found Lady Tanda watching him. While he did not wear a ribbon and merely rode in her honor, he did not want to disappoint her, he was determined to give the audience a show. He raised his lance to the stands and Ser Ormond and prepared himself. Upon receiving the signal, he kicked his horse into a gallop while leaning forward. He might go down, but at least he hoped to take down his opponent as well... Ser Ormond came onto the field atop his destrier, clad in shining full plate, his house's sigil proudly displayed on his shield. He exuded confidence and chivalry, a perfect example of a knight from House Hightower. He nodded in respect to Aladale before taking a lance from his squire and couching it in preparation for the first pass. At the sound of the trumpet Ormond spurred his mighty steed and went racing to meet his opponent. It was over in the blink of an eye. As if Aladale's fury was steadying his lance arm, he hit his opponent as hard as he could, while the Black Heron painted on his shield took the sting out of Ser Ormond's lance. He managed to stay in the saddle and turned around to look after his opponent. The man had certainly taken harder charges than this one, but it seemed his balance was off. Just was the Levalle knight turned his head, Ser Ormond slowly slid from his saddle falling down onto the dirt of the Tourney Ground. He had made it! Opening his eyes, he looked for Lady Tanda in the stands once again. "This one's for you Mylady!", he shouted, but he doubted anyone could hear him over the cheers from the crowd. He dismounted slowly, bathing in the attention and walked over to his opponent. Removing his gauntlet, he reached for Ser Ormond and helped him up. I spend my destiny point to make Ser Ormond fall from his horse and lower his hit to 1DoS R1T1 Stay in the Saddle (TN10): 5d6k3 11

The crowd is stunned, they had expected Ser Ormond to make short work of this unremarkable knight from this uppity nobody house. As much as they might dislike a Levalle, they love an upset even more.
Destrier and Full Plate worth of ransom.
