Most unusually, a hunting party has been granted leave by Lord Leo to make a foray into his woods, it is not in the parts where the great royal hunt is planned, so it does not really affect matters, nor is there going to be much hunting going on, some small game mostly. This is all about bonding among the men of a certain faction.
Restricted Event: If you do not support Daemon's claim (Bittersteel tolerates only those who are on his side, or soon to be, so "undecideds" might be tolerated), then you must succeed on Deception(act) TN 12, failure means his men take you aside and kindly tell you to leave, critical failure will be less pleasant. If you are not a man, then you must succeed on Deception(disguise) TN 12, failure means that you wisely choose to leave the group before you expose yourself, this is also an available option for those wishing to hide their identity, again critical failure will be unpleasant.
Each character taking part will be perceived as supportive of the "Blackfyre cause", all tests are optional.
Step 1:
Impress Bittersteel (you may try as many as you prefer): Survival (Hunt) TN 9, it always helps finding and felling game. Warfare (Strategy) TN 9, Bittersteel likes to talk about war and battle, and he likes to know whom he might rely upon under such circumstances. Will (Dedication) TN 9, Bittersteel is not the most pleasant of people, and he likes to ask uncomfortable questions.
Scoring 3+ DoS Total: The disposition of Bittersteel improves by +1 for the duration of the tourney. Scoring 6+ DoS Total: Bittersteel offers a place as a lieutenant on "his team" in the melee. Scoring 9+ DoS Total: Bittersteel will invite you to a private meeting between him and some of the most prominent and influential knights and lords assembled.
Step 2:
Learn about Bittersteel's motives (you may try as many as you prefer): Each DoS from impressing Bittersteel can be cashed in for +1b to any test (choose before rolling): Awareness (Empathy) TN 12 Cunning (Logic) TN 12 Persuasion (Charm, Convince or Taunt) or Deception (Same as Persuasion) TN 12, choice of specialty matters.
For each 3 DoS scored, you gain insight into Bittersteel's plans for the tourney.
Note: A critical failure on any of these tests permanently reduces Bittersteel's disposition towards you by 1 and all rewards from this event are forfeit.
Special: A point of influence spent during step 1 grants +1b on all tests to impress bittersteel. A DP spent during this event affects all tests.

Bittersteel Event - Deception (Disguise) - +1D from benefit - TN12: 6d6k5 21Squire Ragnar was a young man, a carefully-groomed fuzz of beard defying his unfortunately rather effeminate features, and a perpetual scowl and sharp eyes betraying a history of having to prove his masculinity at every turn. Not that anyone cared about his name, or his history. This event was about the knights. Squires were mere background, and that's where Squire Ragnar was determined to remain. Keeping his eyes open, and figuring out the undercurrents of the political manoeuvring going on. Bittersteel Event - Awareness (Empathy) - TN12: 5d6k4 13 1 DoS Bittersteel Event - Cunning (Logic) - TN12: 5d6k4 15 1 DoS Squire Ragnar did not let this interfere with him acting as a loyal squire - doing his part to ensure good kills were applauded, jokes were laughed at, and generally, the mood of the party relax, leading to Bittersteel lowering his guard, if only momentarily. Bittersteel Event - Deception (Charm) - TN12: 6d6k4+3 19 2 DoS Total: 4 DoS Once Ragnar felt he had learned everything he could, he discreetly let the group outpace him, and silently departed.

Not known for his hunting skills Balon simply cheered on any kills and agreed with his better's assessments on the quality of game within Tyrell's woods. Eventually Bittersteel turned his sour expression towards Balon and asked him a series of provocative questions. Ser Balon was unflinching in answering him and Ser Aegor gave the slightest nod of approval at the end. Balon was beaming internally. Bittersteel's opinion meant a great deal to him and to "pass" this test emboldened Balon. When Aegor began to talk of strategy Ser Balon was quick to speak of a battle in the Riverlands (from some time ago) and began to share the blunders of the losing side. It was half way through the story that Balon realized the losing side involved a crushing defeat of Bracken forces at the hands of House Blackwood. Balon could see the anger in the purple eyes of Bittersteel. It was something he'd never forget or forgive, and Balon knew it. Rewriting due to change in TN for Warfare test.
When Aegor began to talk of strategy Ser Balon was quick to speak of a battle in the Riverlands (from some time ago) and the blunders committed by the losing side. While the lessons learned from these errors were valuable it was half way through the story that Balon realized the losing side involved a defeat of Bracken forces at the hands of House Blackwood. Balon could see the anger in the purple eyes of Bittersteel. Once again Balon found his tongue getting him into trouble and he chose to remain silent for a long time and simply observe the actions of those around him. As he listened he saw an opportunity to attempt to work himself back into Bittersteel's good graces; Flattering Daemon Blackfyre and disparaging King Daeron. Balon could tell the tactic had limited success but doubted anything would come of it.

A hunting party by Bittersteel himself was an event Aladale had to attend. There was simply too much to be learned for him not to take part. Aladale could see the appeal of Aegor, event hough he was not yet sure whether Red or Black was preferable. More importantly though, his brother had made sure that House Levalle so far was not linked to either side and Aladale did not want to give any false impression. As such, he changed his usual tunics with the black herron above the heart for some non-descript hunting garb with a grey hood, keeping mostly in the background as the party scurried the woods. For once, he was not here to build any relationships or establish any connections. He cheered when appropriate and remained silent otherwise, keeping ears and eyes open. Where possible, he encouraged discussions with a remark or two, but only as far as Rolls Bittersteel – Deception Disguise: 4d6k3 12Step 2 Bittersteel (Persuasion Convince): 7d6k5 24 – 3 DoS

Although Daeron is not a full-throated supporter of the Blackfyre cause, he is openly sympathetic of his brother's cause and claim to the throne. However, Daeron wanted to get to know better not only the men around Daemon Blackfyre, but also his own blood relations. Joining the hunting party, he offered no smiles and few greetings to the other men gathered there. Bittersteel wasn't known for being a gregarious individual and Daeron didn't want to set him off too early. As the party went further into the Rosewood Daeron managed to fell a small doe. It wasn't a great kill, nor a clean one, but it was still game felled during a hunt. Although he wasn't exceptionally impressed with the Silver Dragon's kill, it was better than what most of the other men present had accomplished and it provided an opening for Bittersteel to speak with Daeron. Also wishing to gauge the the men that might wish to associate themselves with his brother, Bittersteel began asking his brother about what he might do in a number of "theoretical" battles in the event that the kingdom "potentially" suffered another civil war. Although no experienced general himself, Daeron's instincts were good enough to make it through the scenarios proposed to him. Finally, Bittersteel began asking a number of uncomfortable questions to Daeron about his upbringing on Driftmark and his life as a "bastard". To his credit, Daeron managed to give answers that not only gave credence to his steely resolve, but he also managed to find common ground with his half-brother. Having managed to create what passed for a rapport with Bittersteel, Daeron felt comfortable enough with asking him about what he might hope to accomplish at the this tourney. Several noteworthy people joins in for the hunt, Lord Walgrave Oakheart and Ser Roland Redtusk among them, unsurprisingly Ser Quentyn Ball is also there to be found. The presence of Ser Aubrey Ambrose adds to the impression that the premier knights of the Reach are mostly sympathetic to Daemon's cause, the men bond as they trek through the woods, although this select elite is somewhat difficult to find companionship with, not so with Bittersteel, ever suspicious and eager to win new supporters of his quests, he pays particular attention to those he is uncertain about. He is very talkative with squire Ragnar, so much so in fact that Ser Quentyn needs to not-so-subtly remind him that maybe he should entertain his other guests. Both men not even noticing the cloaked knight having heard most of what Bittersteel told squire Ragnar. He takes a bit of a liking to Addam and Daeron, willingly chatting with them. Bittersteel disposition: Daeron: +1 Addam: +1 Information being revealed shortly.
