Normyn Flowers and Balon Blackbriar. One likely complicit in Ashara's death and the other probably killed Vorian. He felt anger rising and his grip on his sword tightened. No, this isn't the time or the place for vengeance. It won't bring them back and it will only cause more problems.Steeling himself, he used a breathing technique of the Braavosi to center his mind, an icy chill focus replacing the burning rage that had threatened to overtake him moments before. I probably can't take them both, but I'll be sure to put some hurt...So focused on the two blackguards before him, he was taken by surprise by Ser Roland Redwine taking up position beside him. Not good to let myself lose awareness of the battlefield. Good thing this is a tourney where a blow to the back would be seen as cowardly instead of pragmatic."Ser Roland, so good of you to join me."In a lower tone he adds, "For Lord Appleton's sake, I ask you to take on Blackbriar. I would rather not mar this fine gathering by killing him." P4 Appleton Melee vs Normyn Initiative (-4 AP, +5 WDII, -1 Injury): 5d6k4 22(Oh mighty Orokos - I give thanks for all you have given me. I sacrifice in your exalted name, that you will not abandon me on rolls yet to come.) EDIT: neglected to account for my armor being Superior, so only -3 AP, not -4. That pushes my initiative up to 23, which I believe is higher than Normyn can roll. CD: 14, AR 10 Health: 7/12, 1 Injury

"Killing!? Boy needs a spanking!" Redtusk seems to be in a good mood. Ser Normyn does not share such enthusiasm, if no less determined. Normyn CyB: 6d6k4 13Initiative: Lower than 23 CD: 13 AR: 10 Health: 10/12 Coyotcode suddenly acted up since Ysilla roll, so went to orokos, which now appears to have history working again

Davos was not in great shape; if he hadn't been dealing with Oakheart's cronies he might have already yielded and left the field. Being pushed to fight solo instead of with his friends had put him in an ornery mood, so he had pushed farther into the competition than he normally would have, determined to show that he was not to be taken lightly. It did, however, mean that he was in no position to engage in a battle of attrition with Ser Normyn. He needed to win the battle quickly and decisively if he were to win at all. In a real battle, on foot, he could rely on his strength and the heft of his greatsword to deliver powerful blows while maintaining a proper defense, but he did not have that luxury here; instead he had to be more reckless than he particularly cared for, and rely on his quick reflexes to strike a blow that would hopefully make Ser Normyn yield rather than take advantage. With barely a nod to Redtusk, he pushed his steed to a thunderous gallop and struck at the golden-haired bastard with all the force he could muster.
Hurray for Orokos making a comeback. P4 Appleton Melee Fighting(Long Blades) +1D Reckless -1D Charge, +1b (effective) Talented, +1 Talented, +1 Mounted, +1 Superior Weapon, -1 Injury: 10d6k5+2 24 vs CD 13, 3 DoS x [5 +1 Mounted, +2 Charge = 8 per DoS] for 24 - 10 AR = 14 damage. Pretty average roll, but good enough. It has been some time, so I welcome others reviewing my modifiers to make sure I didn't miss anything. EDIT: In hindsight I'm not sure there was room for a charge; amusingly without the charge modifiers I would still have done exactly the same damage, as I would have gotten an additional DoS and 3*8 = 4*6. CD: 12 (reckless, fatigue for AP), AR 10 Health: 7/12, 1 Injury EDIT: Davos will take a fatigue to ignore his AP.

Ser Normyn is rattled, but a swordsman of no small skill or experience, replaying to Davos' ferocity with calm composure, maneuvering his horse to get the best angle for an opening with his sword. Maneuver+Attack (LBF II): 2#9d6k5+3 26 221 DoS on Maneuver, 3 DoS for 3*6+5-10=13 damage. CD: 16 (13) AR: 10 Health: 4/12 Injuries: 2, Tough. Fatigue 1 (presumably Takes fatigue to ignore AP if attacked.

Davos had half-expected Ser Norymn to yield after that first blow, but apparently he was tough bastard. Grunting under the impact and his vision narrowing for a moment as darkness threatened to overcome him, Davos manages to keep his feet though he is pushed back. If he were completely in his right mind, he would probably yield, but between the ringing in his ears, the battle-lust, and the thought of his opponent possibly being responsible for his sister's grief and him never getting to meet his niece, the thought of giving in is untennable. Surging forward again, he launches another massive attack against Ser Normyn, though at this point he is fighting against his own body as much as he is the knight opposite him.
Take 2 injuries to reduce damage from 13 to 5. 2 health remaining. LA: move LA: attack, still using reckless technique P4 Appleton Melee R2 Fighting(Long Blades) +1D Reckless, +1b (effective) Talented, +1 Talented, +1 Mounted, +1 Superior Weapon, -3 Injuries - 1 Fatigue: 10d6k6-1 2727 vs CD 16, 3 DoS for 3*6 = 18 -10 = 8 damage. CD: 12 (reckless, fatigue for AP), AR 10 Health: 2/12, 3 Injuries, 1 Fatigue Davos will take a fatigue to ignore his AP if attacked again.

Even though Normyn probably could hold out for a little longer, and quite possibly win, maybe even be the favorite, it would serve no purpose, he would be utterly spent and progress no further. Perhaps a green boy would have pressed on, or someone not yet having grown up, like a certain famous knight from the Arbor, but the Great Bastard is none of those things.
He yields.
Picks up 2 injuries and yields

Davos is tempted, oh so tempted, to strike down his foe in spite of the yield.
But that is not who he is.
He nods to the golden bastard and lets the defeated man leave the field, knowing that he himself will soon be following.
First though, there was another blackguard that he needed to ensure was defeated. Catching his breath, he looks over to the fight between Ser Roland and Balon Blackbriar.
Not sure if I can jump in on the other thread or not (or if it's needed or not). Normyn and I went 2 rounds, Roland's latest attack marks 3 for them.

Had to break it down into standalone duel scenes for my sanity, if there's another melee, I'm thinking it'll have 2 teams facing one another like in Ivanhoe. Much easier to figure out methinks.

Ok, will wait to the outcome of that fight to see what happens.
