Blessed with size, natural talent and the social status for training, Roland was a champion knight who had been feted at every house he served with.
Every house that was, but one.
The very house at which he had earned his knighthood.
For overthrowing Dornish knights but returning their widows unharmed he had been knighted by Redtusk and cursed by the man he had sworn his sword to.
Lord Walrave Oakheart. Father to the notorious blackguard Rennifer Waters. Sworn foe to the Dornish. A man who felt free to name Roland's betrothed as freely giving of her virtue in open court.
Roland shouted across the field for all to here.
"LORD OAKHEART. YOU DID MY LADY GREAT INSULT THIS NIGHT PAST. I SHALL BE STRIKING FOR YOUR BREASTPLATE FOR YOUR HEART HOLDS NO HONOUR AND THEREFORE LITTLE LIFE."
"BEFORE THIS DUEL IS OUT YOU SHALL RECANT THESE CALUMNIES."
Driven by his lady's wounded honour Roland adopted wild tactics, risks be damned.

Lord Walgrave snorts, not so fool as to not know the likely outcome, but he has no plan of allowing this knight of summer struck by the red hot sun to force any such apology out of his mouth. A yield, dearly sold, and not a word more, he resolves.

Charge Lord Oakheart HiS, EF: 8d6k4+8 27 Blood of the Andals for +2 =29 for 3 dos = 24 damage Roland’s blow was well struck but not enough to unhorse his foe. For once he did not mind. V Lord Oakheart initiative: 5d6k4-2 7 - awful roll, but should still be enough post whatever injuries/wound Lord Oakheart takes? Roland spurred his mount and dealt a timing blow to Lord Oakheart’s finely made helm. R1 charge Lord Oakheart lbf -1b: 9d6k4+6 25 8 damage per DoS

The duel is disappointingly short and one-sided, at least for those hoping for good sport, the polite might point to Lord Walgrave's extensive injuries from the melee, the cynic might note that Roland was always the favorite when opening with the lance as favors him better, the realist could offer that both in fact, is true and Roland is also the better warrior to begin with. It does not take long before Lord Walgrave wordlessly throws down his sword in surrender, but to deign to give Roland the words he demanded, or any words at all, no. In his own mind, silently bearing the humiliation of defeat after having said words not suited for polite company, however true, is the only choice. No man of honor would denounce the truth even if it were best left unsaid, and a half-hearted apology that it was wrong to offend the lady so would accomplish nothing but make him seem weak and mellow to his peers while appeasing nobody.
So he is coming in with capacity reduced by 3 injuries and 2 wounds from the melee, I am not sure if that's supposed to be 3*8=24 (and possibly 3*10 accounting for everything). I think the sword charging should be at +3 for 22 (which is still 3 DoS). Running math up and down, it's too remote a possibility that Walgrave can snatch a victory here although tough makes it possible that he actually does get to act first, but even so he's not possibly going to scratch Roland enough to stop that, so yield it is.
Roland: +1 glory Everyone: +1D on any attempts to spread rumors casting Walgrave as a villain until the end of phase 3.

Roland searched for some stinging rebuke to the silently departing Lord Oakheart, but given his limited wit struggled to find such. He had been desperate to force Lord Oakheart to publicly recant, but dreams of dragging him through the mud and in to a confession would have to remain such: simply dreams.
He made do with a salute to Alicent and stoically ignoring the bested lord. There would be time enough for politics and stinging rejoinders later.
Perhaps he should have paid more attention to his maesters.
[OOC: my mistake on the maths, should be +3 - I was still adding in Animal Handling and leaving off the mounted attack bonus but we dropped that house rule a while ago!
I'll try to remember to put this victory to political use or have Alicent/a PC that's more competent take advantage. Roland may well dislike Walgrave enough to do it himself.]
