Lady Tanda Peake was notoriously difficult to find time with, but Lynesse did her best to ride the high tide of her momentary fame, being a witness in Eldon's defence. Gossip was a potent draw for young ladies, and few scandals could eclipse the one playing out around Lord Eldon at Lord Peake's Grand Hunt.

As first impressions goes, lady Tanda's does nothing to dispel the rumors of her pride and arrogance, she says the right words in greeting, makes the proper curtsies, but her nose is held so high as to almost certainly obscure Lynesse as she looks down across it. The Peake scion makes no effort to hide the opinion that she is superior to just about everyone, especially Lynesse. The question as to what does she owe the pleasure of her company rings hollow in the ears, with the unspoken undertone of "what use will you be to me?".
