[Phase 2.5] The crowds holds their breaths [Melee Scene 4]

Joined by Ser Aubrey Ambrose, the Brackens, lead by Ser Aegor Rivers invites to a series of single combat, notably keeping Ser Ulbert on the flank where Ser Aubrey and Bittersteel are to keep him away from Lord Jon in particular, the plan works halfway, as the Blackwoods focuses on Bittersteel and ignores Ser Aubrey and Lord Jon, with Lord Rodrik eagerly accepting single combat with Ser Hoster Bracken. Even with Ser Aubrey to help, Bittersteel does not last long against the combined might of Ser Brandon and Ser Ulbert guided and directed by Ser Morgarth. Ser Aubrey is quick to take advantage of the opening Brandon left behind when battering Ser Aegor into submission and moves in to block Ser Ulbert from advancing on Lord Jon, though finds himself wedged between Ser Morgarth and Ser Ulbert who leaves Lord Rodrik to fend for himself while trying to deal with this more troublesome foe.

Lord Rodrik holds just as well as Ser Aubrey does, which is to say, both are in for a serious fight, Lord Rodrik does not hold back because of pride and youthful zeal, many of the Reacher knights recognizes the same spirit in him that animated Lord Karl Willum, alas, most remember where that spirit drove him, unconcious off the field like Ser Rodrik, although the young Lord doesn't appear to be pushed halfway through death's door as Lord Willum was. Ser Aubrey's cause is more noble, preventing Ser Ulbert to reach Lord Bracken with his axe, but his swordplay is getting desperate as a knight even as formidable as he have problems against that axe, especially with Ser Morgarth having no other intent with his sword than to distract him or hinder proper defense. And yet, Ser Aubrey prevails, taking almost all his strength to finally unhorse The Ironhand, but is far too spent to continue fighting.

Ser Hoster, in keeping with the chivalry The Bracken Team has displayed throughout, allows his lord father to battle Ser Morgarth all on his own. After a long winded duel, Lord Jon offers a draw and Ser Morgarth grudgingly accepts, eight men clashed, only Ser Hoster Bracken remains, surprisingly, almost unscathed. Though what will be remembered is Ser Aubrey Ambrose shielding Lord Jon against the Ironhand and even besting his foe at great difficulty and peril to himself, most of the Riverlands nobles are quick to point out that if it weren't for Ser Aubrey, odds are that another corpse or two would be added to the tally, of today and the ancient feud. Notably, those most eager to draw such a conclusion does happen to turn sentiment against Ser Ulbert.
