Whitewalls Melee, Scene 2, Initiative, +1D from Warfare: 6d6k4-3 13After scanning the field Balon decided it was better to take his team through the mass of bodies at the center than stay put and prepare for what was heading their direction. It'd be a tougher go but he had a much better chance of losing the pursuing Redwynes and Daverhyls. The thought of sacrificing Simon Tarly occurred to him but he didn't recruit him to be a pawn. With luck they'd break through relatively unscathed and join Lord Walgrave in the Starkwood thrashing.

A hedge knight that had acquitted himself well in the melee, a pair of Vances, well equipped and probably properly trained and a pair that Balon doesn't recognize, nobodies surely. What's for dinner?: 5#3d6 8 11 12 7 137 or less: Strong opponent. 1x->Ser Arlan of Pennytree 8-11: Capable opponent. 2x->Ser Forrest Vance, Ser Karyl Vance 12: Easy opponent. 2x->Ser Gareth Lolliston, Ser Arvin Goodbrook Balon can take on up to two of the above, leaving the rest for his team to deal with.

Balon will take on Karyl Vance and Gareth Lolliston.
If Balon can direct his team he'll order:
Jorah vs. Arvin Simon vs. Forrest Normyn & Eoric vs. Arlan

A joint ”Ah, fuck.” can be heard from the two knights as they mark The Snake-Eater thundering towards them. Why couldn’t it have been the ugly little, ginger cunt? Initiative v Balon - Ser Karyl/Ser Gareth: 2#3d6-3 7 9Balon Gareth Karyl

Balon crashed into two of the knights blocking his path. The violence of his blow sent Ser Gareth crashing to the ground like a wet noodle. Ser Karyl would get a swing in but it'd likely be the only one.

Ser Gareth goes down crashing, as useful in a fight as the barrels that decorate his arms. Karyl Vance, yet ahorse, keeps his temper and tests Balon's defences. He knows where most think this duel will end and is compelled to submit as his blows find little luck.

Just a couple comments/notes on your roll. I *think* Karyl either needs to Charge Balon or Move + Attack. Additionally as Karyl has a superior longsword his bonus should be +2 (+1 mounted, +1 superior.) So what does all of that mean? If he charged you'd drop one die and you'd deal no damage. If you move + attack you're roll would be 18, still no damage.
The third possibility is if you don't have to move to engage you missed 1b for Aim in your roll. Which the max you can get is 2 DoS which at 3 ATH isn't enough to get through my AR. Melee Scene 2, vs. Karyl Vance, R2 Manuever TN19: 8d6k5+2 25, +5 Damage, -1D to Karyl's next attack roll.Melee Scene 2, vs. Karyl Vance, R2 Standard Attack (LBF I -1b): 7d6k5+2 25, 4 DoSDoing a little math: 4 DoS x 6 damage = 24 + 5 from LBF II Maneuver = 29 - 10 AR = 19 Damage. Putting Karyl at -7/12. I'm guessing he yields as he can take a Wound the next attack.

Spacing is a bit woolly, but generally, if Balon barges into them, it's generally been assumed that moving isn't needed. And that is a yield, yes.

Throwing his hands in the air Ser Karyl calls out "Yield! I yield!" loudly and clear. No dishonour in being beaten by ones better but did it have to be a fucking Southron? And one with such a blackened reputation?
Grumbling, he makes his way off the field, at least he didn't get knocked off as that Lolliston prick.

*I included the Priorities Bonus but I accidentally had +2 instead of +1b as I'm making my way towards the Starkwoods now that we've passed through the center. He'd knocked Ser Gareth off his horse before he knew what hit him and while Ser Karyl was a noted tourney knight, this was no joust. Balon's masterful use of his longsword had made quick work of Karyl and the Riverman yielded while he was still conscious to do so. Looking to his teammates he saw they had fared just as well as Balon. Ser Jorah was a little winded but was doing surprisingly well all things considered. As they made it through the mass of horses and knights Balon hoped to put as much distance between his group and the Redwynes and Daverhyls as possible. Some would undoubtedly make it through but they'd be at a numerical disadvantage.
