Roland walked to the lists rather than riding for once. Redtusk had spared him from Ser Simon's disgraceful challenge despite being denied his preferred mount. Leveling the contest when it came to steeds seemed the least Roland could do for the man that made him a knight. "Let it not be said some poisoner tilted our contest - tilting is for lances, not level competitions!" "Duty has borne me well thus far and you would do both me and Fortitude an honour if you gave my other mount a opportunity for a ride." He had faced Redtusk often, and had sometimes managed to anticipate his foe's tactics due to familiarity. PR: 21 or 20 AR: 11 Health: 12/12 I/W/F: 0/0/0 Know opponent Roland Redwyne: 5d6k3 14- Roland offers to let Redtusk ride Duty, his superior Destrier, while himself riding Fortitude, his superior Courser instead due to the previous poisoning of Redtusk's mount. - If Redtusk declines, Roland will borrow a courser from House Starling instead to make sure he's not riding a better horse.

Redtusk, as far as Roland can see, tends to vary his tactics in accordance with whatever strikes his fancy, sometimes offensive, sometimes defensive, though rarely reckless when not required, caring more about having fun playing this game rather than winning it, although he plays it well and wins often enough. Accepting Roland's best horse though? No, that would tilt the scales by doing best vs second best as far as horses went, in Redtusk's favor. But when Lord Willem offers Redtusk to borrow his best steed, fully comparable to his sworn sword's, coming up with excuses to turn that offer down is not something Redtusk is nearly as adept at as all things martial. A younger brother might comment that he was just itching for a chance to beat his namesake with such a handicap and then bask in the praise of such a feat afterwards, a younger brother would know that Redtusk brought a perfectly fine Fossoway courser as he always does.
So Redtusk's plan of getting bragging rights for beating Roland despite inferior horse gone (he wouldn't brag, just enjoy others talking about it while he stays humble happy go lucky). PR: 22 AR: 11 Health: 12

Roland saluted Lord Starling's worthy gesture. A Starling by name, but clearly a fellow Cordwayner in character!
Tactics: N in all passes.
1) Initially - HS,EF,Ag3,HiS 2) BotA used to bump a HS stake hit to 3 or for SiS if needed. 3) Once BotA used up, switch to EF + Braced unless opponent goes HiS, in which case chuck in HS. 4) If opponent starts going Def + HiS, override tactics above and simply match, once 1 and 2 used up.

Shock and adulation ripples through the crowd as it is over before it even begun, Redtusk flies into the dirt on the first pass. Some had hoped for a longer match.

Another miracle! Another blessed miracle from the Seven!
Roland flipped back his visor to smile at his betrothed, the beautiful Alicent Yronwood.
Ransoming his own lord's horse back after such a chivalrous gesture seems most unknightly, but such is a petty concern after the thrill of victory! Calming himself, Roland managed to remember his etiquette and check on his fallen foe.
"My apologies but my good fortune that you spent your reserves defending knightly honour yesterday. No doubt you shall avenge yourself on me in some future tilt or the upcoming melee. The champion of Highgarden's main risk is being swarmed by lesser men keen to make a name for themselves."
With that, the match was over almost before it had begun. Now there was a chance to watch Ser Aerion Flowers take on the peerless Blackfyre. Most expected the latter to win given his skill and reputation, but Aerion was a brave and talented knight and jousts always had surprises to offer.

Not paying for a ransom would be out of the question for Redtusk, it's not like he had not collected more than enough of it before.
Superior Full Plate and Superior Destrier.
