Oh the irony. Jousting against the knight my sister wants to marry. Of course Balon had a desire to marry Preston's sister (among other things...) but that had a more remote chance of happening. Balon had watched Preston in his earlier tilts and he rode in a similar fashion to Balon. They were equals in the joust and Balon wondered if it went to swords would he hold the same advantage he did over Roland Crakehall. For now he'd go about his normal routine and see what Preston's tactics were before adjusting accordingly. After his match with Ser Roland Balon had went to a weaponsmith and bought a castle forged bastard sword. Won't make that mistake again...Balon trotted his blue roan courser onto the field and saluted his opponent before finding Lady Lyanna (Florent) in the stands and bowing his head to her. Time to see if my luck holds out for another round. Whitewalls, R5 P1-3, vs. Preston Oakheart, N+EF, SiS, CyB: 3#6d6k4+5 25 24 20 3#6d6k4+1 11 18 18 3#6d6k4 16 20 20PR: 19 To Hit: 6d6k4+5 (EF) Damage: 9/DoS (Half due to Noble) SiS: 6d6k4+1 CyB: 6d6k4 HP: 12/12 Superior Courser Full Plate

Ser Preston nods to his opponent and readies himself to charge.
Animal Handling 4 Ride 2 Endurance 4 Fighting 5 Long Blades 2, Lances 2 Talented (Fighting) Superior Destrier Superior Full Plate
He has a (minor) advantage with the lances where Balon has (a larger) one with swords, so should do HiS and possibly more offensiveness as the match proceeds.

It doesnt matter because of your SiS roll but you missed 1b and +2 in your To Hit roll.

CD: 13 (17, will use Fatigue to ignore AP when attacked.) HP: 12/12, Tough F/I/W: 0/0/0 Passive Fighting: 24 Superior Bastard Sword Superior Large Shield Full Plate _________________________________________________________ Whitewalls, Melee, vs. Preston Oakheart, Initiative: 5d6k3-4 10Balon knew he wasn't positioned properly in his saddle as he rode to meet Ser Preston but it was too late to do anything about it. He cursed to himself as the force of the blow knocked him from his saddle but as he fell he caught a glimpse of his opponent falling from his steed as well. Balon quickly recovered and drew his newly acquired bastard sword. He movement was much quicker than his duel with Ser Roland Crakehall but Ser Preston was a better knight.

CD: 17 (13 Base +4 Fatigue to ignore AP) HP: 12/12, Tough F/I/W: 1/0/0 Passive Fighting: 24 Superior Bastard Sword Superior Large Shield 9/15 Full Plate _________________________________________________________ Father will need to clarify as Smash is currently being looked at but the "health" of a shield is its starting TN. So a Superior shield has a starting TN of 15 (or 18, I don't know) and is reduced by damage done. So you did 6 damage to it (bastard sword is ATH+2). To Smash you need to beat the CD or TN of the shield, whichever is higher. Whitewalls, Melee R1, vs. Preston Oakheart, Maneuver: 7d6k5+1 23, Success, +5 Damage, FailureWhitewalls, Melee R1, vs. Preston Oakheart, Reckless Attack + Aim + 2 Fatigue: 9d6k6+1 25, 3 DoSWhitewalls, Melee R1, vs. Preston Oakheart, Standard Attack: 7d6k5+1 21, 2 DoS, 2 DamageWhen Ser Preston struck Balon's shield the Snake-eater grunted in anger. Knocking down knights and smashing shields. The fucking tactics of women. They were smart tactics to use but that didn't stop Balon from hating them. Balon used a series of thrusts and strikes to try and put Preston off balance before failed to do so. Balon was able to finally hit Ser Preston but the damage was negligible.

No, maneuver is not success because of talented. Shield is 15, 9 now (but CD=13 is the score to beat).

Alright, I'll edit my post since LA 2 and 3 were contingent on LA 1 being a success.

Let me know when you have it updated. Updated. Preston at 10/12 HP and TN to damage shield is 17.

Ser Preston handled the flurry of thrusts easily enough, but as one slipped through Balon could hear a sharp intake of breath. Thankful for his armour, Ser Preston took to the offensive again, hammering away on the shield and giving the audience something to cheer about as it falls to splinters. Phase 2 - Whitewalls R5 vs. Ser Balon T2 - Smash Shield + Aim - vs. TN 17: 8d6k5+2 22 - 2 DoS12 damage to shield, total 18 - should be broken? Question: Breaking shield mentions a reduction of difficulty by the damage already done. Does this apply if the TN is based on Combat Defense? (assuming you're taking more Fatigue to ignore AP?)

CD: 1 (6 Base -5 Reckless) HP: 12/12, Tough F/I/W: 3/0/0 Passive Fighting: 24 Superior Bastard Sword Dirk Superior Large Shield 0/15 Full Plate _________________________________________________________ FA: Drop Shield LA: Draw Dirk Spend Fatigue for extra LA GA: Reckless Two Weapon Attack Whitewalls, Melee R2, vs. Preston Oakheart, Two Weapon Attack, Reckless: 8d6k6 25, 3 DoS, 24-10 = 14 Damage***If I have my math right Bastard Sword is ATH+2 and Off-Hand +2 for Dirk meaning 8 Damage/DoS. That should put you at -4/12 HP, meaning you'll need to take two injuries. Father can let us know if Preston will continue fighting.*** Balon dropped his ruined shield and drew his dirk. Without his shield he was extremely exposed and did his best to end the fight as quick as possible. With a reckless lunge Balon stabbed and swung with both weapons, hoping to overwhelm Ser Preston and force him to yield.
