PR: 19 ToHit: 6d6k4+5 (N, EF) SiS: 6d6k4+1 CyB: 6d6k4 Full Plate Superior Courser ________________________________________ Based on previous tilts Balon believed himself to be the jousting equal to Ser Roland. However most had said the same about Balon and Ser Manfryd and Balon remembered all too well how short that match had been. Unlike his joust against Manfryd, Balon started cautiously trying to feel out what his opponent was going to do. If they were equals Balon hoped to take the fight to a duel of swords where Balon *should* emerge victorious. Atop his blue roan courser Balon looked to the crowd for family members, friends, Lady Lyanna (Florent), and Laena. He nodded to Lyanna and looked down to her favor tied to his arm. This plus Laena's locket plus my shield. Either I have an abundance of luck or I've jinxed myself. Maybe I should cover all my bases and keep Lady Jeyne's small-clothes in my satchel. Balon laughed. Pre pregnancy....At the sound of the trumpet Balon charged towards his foe. Whitewalls, R4 P1-3, vs. Roland Crakehall, N+EF, SiS, CyB: 3#6d6k4+5 24 23 22 3#6d6k4+1 21 16 21 3#6d6k4 20 21 16

Ser Roland is young and talented, his sturdy frame does need a few more years to fill out proper by Balon's estimation, then he might be a match with sword as well as lance and horse, but the future is not now.

The brown boar of House Crakehall stood proudly on Roland's shield, and so far at Whitehalls he had been as tenacious as his crest. His ornate plate carried engravings of the animal, and the smallfolk in the crowd were convinced that this lent him the beast's staying power. Whatever the superstitious peasants thought the two knights were evenly matched after three passes. Roland Crakehall was a son that any lord would be proud of, but so far Balon had the mettle to match him. Quite a match was in prospect! v Balon P1-3 N;SiS;CyB: 3#7d6k4+4 24 20 20 3#6d6k4+1 16 21 23 3#4d6 13 16 11- Tied at 4 DoS each after three passes.

Men oft talked of Titus as being Donnel's son and heir when it came to jousting and chivalry, but for the moment it was Balon that wore this mantle. Slowly but surely he pushed himself with all his skill and might. There was only a dirk's length in quality between the two so far, but that gap was evidently in the Reachman's favour. PR: 19 AR: 10 Health: 12/12 v Balon P4-6 N;SiS;CyB: 3#7d6k4+4 27 17 22 3#6d6k4+1 17 21 21 3#4d6 13 14 16 - apologies, wrong character name here but right dice pool. - Balon leads 8 DoS to 7. He'll stop if narrator wants him to concede for +1 Chivalry, otherwise he'll continue and step up his aggression to attempt a comeback! Narrator, I'll just do a 50% chance he resorts to HS, otherwise more conventional aggressive tactics unless instructed otherwise!

Going to post R7 & R8 only to see where the DoS totals are before the last round. Depending on how things go Balon might do something crazy for R9. Balon was winning but Ser Roland wasn't ready to concede just yet. If they both managed to keep their seat the fight would end in a melee and Balon was fine with that. He trusted his swordsmanship to carry the day. Maybe Wildfyre was on to something.Whitewalls, R4 P7-8, vs. Roland Crakehall, N+EF, SiS, CyB: 2#6d6k4+5 22, 22 2#6d6k4+1 19 17 2#6d6k4 15 16Another two passes, another two solid hits by Balon.

Two more solid passes from these redoubtable knights! Anticipation grew in the crowd at the thought of seeing a match with a full nine passes of broken lances without either man being dismounted. PR: 19 AR: 10 Health: 12/12 v Balon P7-8 N,HiS,HS;: 2#7d6k4+6 23 23 2#6d6k4-2 17 17 2#4d6 11 19- Balon leads 10 DoS to 9, Roland Crakehall continues with HS for the ninth pass! He may go a little more aggressive in an attempt at a decisive finish, as ever subject to narrator instruction.

Probably mostly in his interest to not have it settled by swords.

He was (barely) winning and unless Ser Roland did something spectacular it'd go to a duel on foot which Balon had wanted. Just don't get knocked off. Roland rides fiercely in final pass, shattering his lance in to a cloud of splinters upon Balon. Yet both remain in their seats and the crowd cheers viciously on to the promise of these two skilled swordsman drawing steel against one another.

Perhaps it is the cheering of the crowd that overwhelms the two fighters for but a moment as they both stumble on the charge. The Young Boar proves to be the fastest of the two, delivering the first blow in what would surely be a fierce duel.

Father can correct me if I'm wrong but: *Bastard sword has a 1B training penalty so your base To-Hit roll should be 7d6k5+1. You rolled too many dice. For expedicany: Duel vs. Balon Dice correction for Bastard Sword: 1d8 1New roll total by Roland Crakehall. New Roll total = 20, 1 DoS, No damage.Additionally, damage for Bastard Sword is ATH+2 base. So your charge would've been 7/DoS and 5/DoS normal. *Your passive fighting is 24 (Fighting 5 (20) Long Swords 3B (3) Superior Weapon (1)) _________________________________________________________________________________ Both were slow to start and both were ineffective with their first strike.
