A sworn sword of Lord Florent, Ser Randyll is capable enough to defeat Trystane, over many matches the Great Bastard should emerge victorious in maybe 4 out of 5, but that does leave the possibility that the one time this is not so just happens to be today.

Trystane takes a more cautious approach this time, abandoning flashy manoeuvres in favour of trying to strike a balance between breaking lances and having a chance to unhorse Ser Randyll.

Ser Randyll had the beating of most knights - he was capable and well horsed. However, Ser Trystane was not "most knights", particularly with a lance in hand... v Trystane P1-3 N;SiS;CyB: 3#5d6k3+4 22 16 17 3#6d6k4+1 21 16 18 3#4d6 9 12 16[OOC: narrator, let me know if I should switch tactics at any point please. Also, Trystane a quick maths check: total static bonus is +8 by my count: Tourney knight +2, AH +4, EF +1, Agg +3 -2 Brace = 8. Sadly this might turn pass two in to a critical miss for Ser Trystane, which is why I have the heavy task of double checking...] PR: 19 AR: 10 Health: 12/12 I/W/F: 0/0/0

I’ll see if I can figure out my working. The +1 might be the Superior Mount.

I am pretty sure it's the +1 for Superior Courser that made up that +1, but given that I was adapting my totals over from a previous joust (I think the one where I'm only using Noble & Eyes Fixed), it could also be a rounding error. +1 for Superior Mount is my best guess at where that +1 has come from. My Superior Courser also has Str +2, rather than the base +1, if that could be a factor.
Sorry I can't shed more definitive light on it. I deleted my working for neatness once I was sure it was correct and posted. I'll leave it in place under a spoiler tag or something for future rolls, just in case.

[OOC: no worries! But again, I fear I'm the hidden traitor mechanic among the PCs, as the +1 from the superior mount does not apply to your lance attack. Sorry!]

That's fine. I have edited the figures so we can continue.

It was late in the jousting, cruelly, cruelly late, but Ser Trystane had tired after winning his place as a champion. His lance failed to break at the second pass, delivering the victory to Ser Randyll.
The Red sun of House Hutcheson joined his fellow champions at Kingsbridge. Lord Florent was fortunate or a good judge to have such skilled knights sword to him. Still, Trystane had won glory and renown in gaining a place as a champion. Not only that, but defeating a jouster of Ser Aerion Flower's worth brought this relative newcomer to the tourney circuit to wider attention.
