As the sun was setting on Summerhall, a place that surely would stand on the pages of history in infamy after the events of the last two days, Titus rode out unto the fields for a second time today. First he ridden out to fight for the Honour and Memory of Ashara Starkwood. Beautiful, wild Ashara who yet still laid in the Summerhall Sept. It had been a short affair, some drunken knight of the Hedge, too lowly to even be worth remembering who though it funny to mock a murdered girl. Titus had unhorsed him in the first pass, limping off with a broken arm he had apologised and that was the end of that.
So many duels had been held that the grounds where looking more like that of a battle's than a royal palace. The vibrant greens of crisp sumer grass had been trampled and ground down by hoof and steel boots until nothing but mud remained. Mud, dirt and blood. All under the shadow of Good King Daeron's Summer Palace; where singers, minstrels and scholars still roamed - a fitting image some might note.
Now for a second time Titus rides onto to that field. To fight for his own honour.
Or that of his family?
Or is it still Ashara's?
He didn't know. The vermin Levalle had done what vermin does - he had insinuated, he had threatened, he had insulted and when forced to stand for his words he had, as vermin does, scurried away. Titus was angry. He wanted to hurt all and any who had dragged his world through this mud; the cowards and killers who'd forsaken and soiled Honour and Chivalry to survive and flourish at the expense of others.
Ser Aladale did not have the balls to stand for himself, what else can be expected of a Levalle? Instead he sends his House's dog and raised up killer Ser Robyn of Prince's Pass. The Mauler. What a ridiculous fucking name, Titus thinks as his opponent is called. Ridiculous maybe but a killer all the same. Ser Robyn is not known for fighting fair and Ser Rennifer had already shown what danger those men are.
None-the-less, Titus takes to the field on-top Smith with a tourney lance - but his squire stand ready should Robyn opt for the war lance or other tactics.

Even before the duel, the Levalle's appears to have made their threat credible, with the looks people gives Titus almost suggests that the Levalle's have become respectable people now, and one knight even shouting that he should be ashamed of himself to force Ser Robyn to challenge him to restore Lady Alena's honor. He might be a Levalle plant, but the men around him that seems to be in agreement can surely not be so? Most men appears to be here for the show, most men would probably want to simply watch the show. Ser Farman Flowers elicits guffaws as he starts whistling to the tune of "The Dornishman's Wife". Ser Robyn of the Prince's Pass, oft simply spoken of as The Mauler awaits Titus, clad in steel from head to toe, one shield on his arm, another on his back, a warhammer in his hand, morningstar in his belt. Horse he has not cared to bring, obviously intending to fight on foot, whether he trusts Titus to be gallant or puts his faith in that after Ser Rennifer's earlier wickedness, charging at him with lance would soil Titus so thoroughly that it wouldn't even matter if he forces his opponent to yield. Aladale inciting the crowds: 7d6k6+2 30 Should be 4 DoS, more than enough to control the narrative. CD: 16 AR: 11 Health: 12

Pride is a fearsome beast. It claws at the hearts and mind of all, demanding satisfaction, demanding constant feeding lest it reveal that even darker thing that lurks behind. And when wounded it snarls and roars for you to protect it, to lash out against those who threaten. The jeers and shouts throw him off, frightens him even as that beast within starts to claw. Fucking Levalles and their filth. This is not it. Titus is not that. Titus is the hero. Is he not? The men shout, the beast roars and Titus steels himself. Yes, he is. He has to be. And the heros win. How easy it would be to just ride the man down, skewer him with his war lance - the one father had gifted him after his knighting... No. He dismounts. As he does so he calls out "Is Ser Aladale so short of coin that he not only must resort to blackmailing - he can not even afford to horse his champion? Surely the Spongeholders pockets are deeper than that?"Drawing his sword he goes to face his opponent.
Titus auto-fails Honourbound and dismounts. Incite v Levalles: 4d6+2 17 - obv not enough to contest but maybe have some effect. Do with it as you please! CD: 12 AR: 11 Health: 12/12 F/I/W: 0/0/0 Initative v The Mauler: 3d6-2 12Titus uses a DP to lower The Mauler -1D

Ser Robyn makes no reply, nor any of the other Levalle's, the crowds doesn't quite know what to make of Titus' accusations, they mostly do not fit with the tale that most of those caring for such a thing has already agreed upon, that Ser Robyn is here to restore the honor of Aladale's daughter. Titus is quick on his feet, quicker than the brute. Once upon him he catches him with a slice to the leg, throwing The Mauler of balance.

Ser Robyn pulls at the knee of his foe to bring Titus down with him, while Titus gets his shield up for the follow up, the blow resonates through the wood and jolts up his arm. As the hammer is pulled back, the wood is cracked and warped where the strike hit.

Titus lashes out with a swift riposte slicing at the weaker joint of Ser Robyn's elbow - but hardly enough to slow the man down.

Neither man appears to be slowing much down, carefully testing each other's defenses, although Titus' shield appears to buckle under the testing.
True, I might have to review superior gear vs shattering later on. CD: 19 (16) AR: 11 Health: 8/12 Aim+cautious Attack: 9d6k3+1 19 2 Dos for 2 damage due to piercing and -1 defense due to shattering.

The Mauler's merciless hammering is seeing Titus buckle just like his shield. The young knights blows does not seem to penetrate his defences.

Titus was panicking, he was losing. In his peripheralhe could see the floating smirks of the Levalle men watching, their jeers egging the Mauler on. His shield was more or less a useless piece of scrap now so he throws it of, pulling his spare from his back. Just barely dodging a shattering blow he strokes down hard against Ser Robyn’s weapon - hoping the break what had given the man his name.
CD: 7 Armour: 11 Health: 6/12 F/I/W: 1/0/0 Free Action: Drop battered shield LA: Equip Fresh Shield LA: R2: Attack Weapon (Reckless, Prone, Aim) v The Mauler’s Maul: 10d6k6 27 Ok I’m a bit iffy on the details here but against CD19 (the highest between CD and Smashing Difficulty) that’s 2 DoS of 6 each so 12 dealt to Warhammer - reducing it to TN6?

In a brief moment of respite, Titus manages to swing his longsword downward, splintering the long oaken handle of Ser Robyn's warhammer. The Mauler would have to opt for the morningstar on his belt, not a favorable option but better than being the anvil for his hammer.
