Roland's huge brown destrier, Duty, seeemed was particularly aptly named today - there was scant glory in a knight of Roland's prowess facing the likes of Ser Dickon Tarly, but knighthood was about service, not duty. Roland had a duty to both the living and the dead to make the man answer for his ill-spoken words at Ashara Starkwood's funeral. Ashara had been betrothed to marry in to his house, however complicated his family's current situation and bloodline were this was not justice a matter of honour but of loyalty. Dipping his lance to the grieving Starkwoods, Roland kicked his steed in to a charge. For Ashara.PR: 19 AR: 11 Health: 12/12 I/W/F: 0/0/0 v Dickon Tarly know opponent: 5d6k3 17

Honour demanded blood here, and while Roland chose a tourney lance he aimed for the joints of his opponent's armour, keen to make a quick end to matters. This extended to swords, should it come to that. Roland's bastard sword sprang to his hand even before he had fully turned his mount. Roland's charge was hasty and poorly aimed despite all his training. Still, size and momentum covered a myriad of shortcomings. AR: 11 CD: 13->15 Health: 7/12 I/W/F: 0/0/0 Fatigue if attacked. [P2] duel Dickon R1 charge: 9d6k4+3 17 -> 16 (Bastard sword does not have mounted)- 2 DoS with Bastard sword + mounted charge = 16 -10 = 6 Damage [OOC: shouldn't Dickon have taken three injuries? 30 Damage from Roland -10AR = 3 injuries needed to stake off defeat, but that means he only takes 8 damage from the charge and recovers 3, so starts with 7 health. Apologies for my poor roll dragging this out, can't even rescue it with BotA! Thanks for taking on the NPC here.]

Three injuries would be correct. He will take his fourth injury. Will use a Fatigue to ignore injury penalty Action 1: Aim DotD Roland Reckless Attack: 8d6k5+1 23 2 DoS 12-11= 1 Damage Will take a fatigue if attacked. CD: 6 (9) AR: 10 Health: 3/12 I/W/F: 4/0/1 Sorry I couldn't have stellar rolls to end it sooner.

Standing high in his stirrups Roland used his superior size and swordsmanship to deliver a ringing blow to Dickon's helm. [P2] duel Dickon R2 Aim + attack: 10d6k5+3 29->28 (Bastard Sword does not have mounted) - 4 DoS = 24 Damage AR: 11 CD: 13 Health: 6/12 I/W/F: 0/0/1

He take a wound and yields
Dickon Tarley had nothing to say to the apologizer. He knew he never really had a chance of beating Ser Roland, but atleast inflicting some sort of wound would of been a small consolation. A small consolation for the lives of his father, brothers, and mother. But he had failed..

Secondaries can't take a wound and would have yielded on the fourth injury.

Secondaries can't take a wound and would have yielded on the fourth injury. [OOC: corrected a mistake on my part - didn't realise Bastard Swords don't have Mounted. Means opponent's attack roll is 1 DoS higher as Dickon doesn't take an injury from Roland's charge. Can then just have Roland impose consequences of defeat: yields to spare us a minor retcon?] The matter was settled, Roland raised his blade to the watching Starkwoods before sheathing it.
