[Continued from - greatbastards.boards.net/post/20343/thread]Trystane had been fuming for hours after issuing his challenge to Eoric Applehouse, almost impatient enough to just smash his face in and forego the honourable combat. But wiser members of House Starkwood had calmed and distracted him long enough to rest up and prepare adequately for the duel. He had chosen a charge with lances as the starting point, though was ready for it to go to swords if necessary. Traditional, and from what he could learn about Eoric, more likely to succeed than just a sword fight on foot. He fixed his opponent with a hard, fiery glare from across the field before he snapped his visor down and readied to charge. [Not using FB. If a man is unhorsed, but conscious and had not yielded, the fight may continue.]

Tourney Knight doesn't apply outside regulated jousts, so 18.

Astride a blood red Destrier bearing the Golden Apples on Red of his family rather than anything associated with House Blackbriar, Eoric enters the field with little ceremony. His armour is of a plain, soothy gray without decorations. An armour made for war, not parades.
The crowd clearly favours Trystane, the handsome Great Bastard - Great Bastard - Fucking ridiculous term if anyone would ask Eoric. How any Bastard, even if spawned from the Unworthy’s cock, could be considered Great baffles him. A bastard is a bastard and the one opposite him a dornish one at that. Only one way to deal with such filth.
He does carry some support in the crowd though, whilst many lords and highborns that shares his sentiments seem to stay quiet at the moment, fucking perfumed cowards, there is a fairly large group of Blackbriar knights cheering on their commander, proof if anyone should need it that even with Lady Shiera having left Gyldenhaal, Lord Jon’s rule was still weak and fractured.
”Thing about the dornish,” he mutters to his squire Robb, a nephew from one of his older brothers - the one that died from dysentria - ”is that they can’t take a fucking joke.” as he is handed his lance.
”Come on then, big man!” He shouts across the field. ”You gonna stare at me all day or come over here and kiss me?” That gets him some laughs.
He snorts and spits on the ground before lowering his visor and and prepares the charge.
Opening charge with tourney Lances followed by Swords until one is defeated, unhorsed or yields?
When riding PC v PC it is customary to post your intended manoeuvres in your Private Forum before rolling and posting here. I’ve done so and feel free to make your next post when you have as well.

-3 SiS only applies for High in Saddle, Aggresive is +3 attack, -3 defense, and you also get +4 to the charge from AH

As they crash Eoric feels himself being lifted up in his stirrups by the Dornish Bastard’s lance - the little shit almost has him! But where Trystane rides (more honourably) to unseat, Eoric rides to hurt. He’d seen what Ser Mongrel had done to that other Knight - the bastard, whatever’s his name was... Eoric was not going to end like that. He wheel his horse around, it’s not important what he calls it, he’s gone through so many over the years and only cunts name their horses and shouts across the field; ”You’re going to have to try harder than that, big man! I’ve been killing dornishmen since before you where but a twinkle in the Unworthy’s eye!” Any one proficient with numbers would know that was a blatant lie. Before Trystane has a chance to retort, Eoric has rid himself of the broken lance, drawn his long sword and charges down the list.

Is that the damage that CYB heals? And do I need to also roll Initiative for the next pass?

CyB should heal some of that, I think yes.
What follows now is mounted combat rather than jousting so yes, roll for Initiative (don’t forget AP, unless you use Fatigue to ignore it for 1 round). With taking damage, don’t forget that there is Injuries and Wounds to negate that (but comes with penalties obviously.)

[Ok so that's 3 points healed (I think). Will also take 1 point of Fatigue to ignore AP.]
The brief lift without unhorsing Ser Eoric deeply frustrates Trystane. He thought for a moment that he'd succeeded. Though now, he has a better measure of the man. Clearly a brute and a blowhard, wasting his breath taunting, though it does annoy him. The heavy hit of the first charge has winded him somewhat, so he doesn't charge with the same aggression as before, seeing an opportunity to maybe use his opponent's momentum against him. He knows all too well that he needs to make this next strike count. Do not let him win this, Sand. Do not let her down.

No worries. So let’s see: you won Initiative roll (tie-breaker being you having more specialty dice) so you go first. As we are no longer jousting with Lances it’s regular combat (I.e no opposing charges with lance against Passive Ride, no Stay in Saddle roll nor free CyB) so it’s Fighting roll v CD. If unsure about regular combat have a look at it here: freeronin.com/gr_files/SiF_Fastplay.pdf and don’t forget to check out the various house-rules as well!

Ok, I think this is what I'm working with:
Fighting - 6d6k4 (before modifiers) CD - 8
Either longsword or spear (awaiting some clarification) Shield Fitted Full Plate Destrier

[OOC: reviewing this as requested! CYB heals 4 rather than 3 as the TN is 0, so 15 is 4 DOS greatbastards.boards.net/post/21366/thread. Cautious stance: is -1D to attacks, so the roll should actually be 6d6k3+1 - easy to roll another dice and then just substitute that in while dropping one of your lower rolled dice so you're only keeping three. I'd suggest using a large shield rather than a normal shield, which would boost Trystane's CD by a further +2].
