Lord Willem Starling, Father of the bride and one of the greatest knights of his age. Yet that age, like that of Titus’ father, was coming to an end and now was the time for new legends to be made, new song to be written. But just as Ser Donnel had broken both the Breakers in a single day, Lord Willem was not one to be underestimated. Know Your Opponent - Cunning (Tournaments) v Lord Starling: 5d6k3 16

Lord Willem had just held off the Longthorn without resorting to any sort of fancy tricks, odds are that the old man did not think such to be needed against Titus, unless circumstances requires adaptation.

Atop Smith, his steel-gray Fossoway stallion, Titus charges down the list in a fierce first pass. His riding is good but not good enough to be completely safe against a jouster if Lord Willem’s skill.

The crowd reacts in shock as Titus unhorses their lord on the first pass. The first pass, one thing is the 8th or something suitably worthy of a song. But the first pass is just unheard of. Willem needs several moments to shake off the disappointment before being able to put his act together and congratulate the young one on his performance, before lapsing back into ruminating on his own. This was not how he had planned his..ahem Lysette's tourney to be like. Willem N: 3#6d6k4+6 23 21 28 3#6d6k4+1 13 20 14 3#4d6 19 19 10

It’s not until he turns Smith around, ready to accept a second lance from his squire that he realises what happened. Titus dismounts and removing his helm he briskly walks up to Lord Willem to extend his hand. ”A tournament worthy of songs, my Lord. No shame for its most gracious host and father of the bride to be distracted by the thousand matters required to run such a thing.” Standing by the old lord’s side Titus raises an armoured fist and calls out to the crowd. ”Kingsbridge! Home of Chivalry! Home of Honour! Home of House Starling!”Turning to his host he says, ”My Lord, your hospitality is more reward than any of us can ask for. Please, as a token of my gratitude, allow me to return your horse and armour without ransom.”
No ransom asked for, unless he is to proud to accept it? Charm - Up Lord Willem! v Crowd (TN?): 6d6k4+2 23

His mood is a little bit improved, a little bit. But to accept a waiver of a ransom honorably won? No.
