His last tourney with inverted Florent Colors, Ser Aemon intends to do both them and his new house proud. But he is no Longthorn, winning seven matches could prove difficult even if customs were followed and he received sufficiently capable jousters, seven chances at slipping up if he did not stay sharp through all of them. Lord Jaime Fossoway was once a formidable jouster, and still no slouch, but his skills are no longer a match for the better youngsters, such as Ser Aemon. He both misses the white fox on the shield and finds himself thrown out of his saddle on the first tilt. A good start for the groom.

A clash of Titans! Lord Willem Starling and Lord Leo Tyrell goes through nine broken lances each. With a bit more luck, either man may have unhorsed the other, but the former squire was clearly close to unseating his old mentor more time than the other way around. In a competition where a victory must be awarded, surely The Longthorn would have been granted that honor, but here they shake hands as a draw is awarded and Lord Starling retains his seat as a champion in this fine tourney of his that promises to be a great moment for him the way he had wanted for a long time. Ahem, a great honor for Lady Lysette to have her father withstand the most celebrated jouster of their time of course. This tourney is all for her.

Ser Vardis is the first of Lysette's initial champions to lose, his first lance fails to connect with the shield of Ser Aerion Flowers, on the second tilt he is unhorsed.

Ser Aladore does not even offer a challenge to his cousin, one tilt is all it takes for Ser Aemon to send him off his horse. Ser Aerion Flowers against Ser Willas Tyrell is a match to remember, for eight passes they keep breaking their lances and stay in their seats, but nearing the ninth pass Ser Willas takes on ever more risk, but it is he who loses his seat for it. Lord Walgrave Oakheart had given Lord Willem a lot of trouble at Highgarden, at Kingsbridge Ser Aemon have no trouble at all, expertly sending the old warrior off his seat on the first tilt. That leaves it to his son to carry the Oakheart arms into the competition, it takes five tilts against Ser Gerold Florent before Lord Reynald's cousin no longer can keep up and finds himself on the ground. Ser Jon Florent keeps his seat against Ser Aerion Flowers, but his third lance fails to break and thus the Great Bastard retains his mantle. Ser Aemon's match against Lord Hutcheson turns out to be a very short affair, the groom needs only a single tilt to unhorse his foe. Ser Selmond Westbrook of the companions makes a good account of himself attempting to win back the place of honor Ser Manfryd had claimed from Ser Addam, but after four pair of broken lances between them, Ser Selmond only just lost his seat. Ser Preston Oakheart keeps impressing as he sends Ser Loras Durwell to the ground on the second tilt. Likewise, Ser Arion Flowers needs no more than to tilts to unseat The Dolphin Knight. Lord Footly lasts only the one tilt against the groom. Ser Selmond's first lance fails to connect against Ser Manfryd's shield, when he makes a mad dash to recover his chances, the champion sweeps him off his saddle with ease. Ser Franklyn Leygood breaks his lance against Ser Preston Oakheart, but the companion is no match for the champion and is unhorsed in the first tilt. Lord Conklyn gives Ser Aemon a tough struggle throughout five tilts of shattered lances until the groom unhorses him. That duel is followed by a much more spectacular one, for eight tilts Ser Manfryd Grimm and Ser Patrek Florent breaks their lances, first the one looks a bit shaky in the saddle, then the other. After the eight exchange, Ser Patrek's lance is only just enough well placed to take advantage of a moment of unbalance and the champion of Brightwater Keep may now add Kingsbridge to that title. Some might have thought that Ser Sebaston Rowan would have wanted a chance at a re-match, but in this format, it was arranged for Lord Edmyn to chose before him so that option was never provided. Ser Preston is believed to be of equal skill as the group, thus providing indication as to whom would have emerged victorious. Ser Sebaston appears to have the upper hand, but it takes him five tilts before he can claim victory. Ser Symon's aim for the second pass is absolutely horrible, leaving him with no choice but to engage in risky tactics for his third charge, but Ser Aemon weathers the blow and may claim the champion's spot. Ser Patrek and Ser Sebaston unhorses Ser Marq and Ser Ulf of The Companions on their first tilts.
