He dictated the letter to Laena, characteristically short and to the point. Asking that if Ser Mark Edgerton was unwilling or unable to retain Master Lucas as his squire, that the boy be taken under Daeron's wing as Daeron championed his mother and because Kingsbridge is a proper place for any squire to obtain his spurs in a safe environment. Whether it was the Milk of the Poppy... or the concussion, but Daeron found himself trusting his sister's words, even though it was her champion that only hours ago placed him in this bed. "During the course of our investigation we came across five names and descriptions that were linked to the Hooded Man. Several of them we managed to hunt down, and some escaped us. They were Ser Horace of Oldtown our recently unearthed knave, Master Jaremy of Longtable, a merchant, Ser Robert Flowers, a one-armed and corrupt knight who is in charge of customs in Gardenton, and a young ginger man who appears to be rich and frequents the Perfumed Lady whose name we could not discover.I would prefer if it did not leave this tent that I shared this information with you. House Starling has spent considerable resources tracking down these leads and my fellow Companions might not appreciate their hard work being co-opted by another house, even if we're pursuing the same goal."
I won't even bother with an intrigue, I know well enough how it will end. Using Milk of the Poppy to negate penalties: AtHD-Status (Reputation)+Chivalry: 6d6k4+6 25 27 with assist AtHD-Persuade (Convince): 6d6k4+6 30 31 with assist

Laena gives him a reassuring smile. "Of course. I will handle this matter with all due discretion, and share with you - and only you - should I discover anything." She ponders a moment. "Interesting commonality they all have: a blackmailing hedge knight getting rich off gambling, a merchant from the wealthy Merryweather lands, a knight getting rich from corruption, and the ginger man who is rich through unknown means. All are figures with significant amounts of coin to throw around." Her brow furrows in frustration over the lost opportunity to try and track these people. "I will be sure to keep alert for any news of them I may come across in the future. Thank you." She gives him a radiant smile.
[If you don't have anything else to discuss, I'm happy to call it /scene with your response.]

“Many thanks and take care in your travels. May your investigations be more fruitful than mine.”
As much as he enjoyed Laena’s visit, he was exhausted and needed his rest to recover properly.
/scene is good with me

@father, is silence indicative of a No answer, or does this sort of thing require an in-person Intrigue?
