How does people feel the pacing going?
I definitely should not try going faster, and presently it looks like I can use the weekends to catch up. From experience, moving forward at stable and decently fast speeds tends to be the recipe for success.

How does people feel the pacing going? To be honest, I often feel like I'm running out of time each game day. I know some of that is my own doing, delaying putting things into motion while I get my thoughts together. As one of the most prolific posters (which kind of surprises me actually, I always feel behind on some thread or another) I may just be spreading myself too thin... but even then there are various things I have meant to do and never gotten around to. I definitely should not try going faster, and presently it looks like I can use the weekends to catch up. From experience, moving forward at stable and decently fast speeds tends to be the recipe for success. I definitely agree with both points here, but while in previous games I often felt like I was waiting for the next day to start, in this game I feel like I still have things to do on the day shortly before it ends. Some of that may have to do with changes in my personal life between previous games and now, and some of it might be that this character has a much less structured involvement than previously. However, I also feel that a lot of stuff happens 'mid day', i.e. on the weekend half-way point of the game day - events moving to a second phase, or reactions to other events. I think that is part of what makes me feel rushed - especially trying to have IC conversations about in game events and then wanting to put plans into motion based on those conversations, or doing up rumors based on the events of the day. I may not be remembering correctly, but I seem to recall that in prior games, most of the major plot developments either happened at night or were learned of on the next day - that means that the players had the full two-week 'day' to react to those major events. |

I think for the high volume posters the pacing is a little too fast and for the rest it's about right or a touch too slow. For me I think we're close to where it needs to be.
Everybody is different too. I am able to check this forum everyday while some are on every couple days (cough Aladale finish your R2 joust cough). Like Ashara, I have lots of things to do and NPCs to talk to but need to space it out and not overload you (Father) or have a D4 thread running into D6 and D7.
TL:DR We're about where we need to be.

Pacing seems reasonable to me, stuff is happening and the plot is moving on. Wouldn't want to go much slower, subject to narrator burn out. The rest of us helping with rumours and various events can hopefully ease things here.  Certainly enjoying things so far! |
