I have not forgotten it, but wanted to wait for Roland to come back from his weekend trip

Anybody want to roll for Ser Vardis? Preferably someone who's got bad luck with Orokos.

Anybody want to roll for Ser Vardis? Preferably someone who's got bad luck with Orokos. Well if your looking for someone who had terrible luck with orokos I am your man. But I do not see his offensive stats so maybe father wants to roll it himself? Also Father created a pretty slick algorthum for getting all 3 rolls done at once, Noble, Stay in Saddle, CyB: 6d6k4+3 23 5d6k3 14 3d6 12I do not know how exactly he did it, but I think you separate your dice rolled with semi colons that it makes the rolls all at once. So for alliser I think it would look like this day 4 LAVPM rnd ? braced, noble, eyes fixed, aggressive +2, SiS, CYB 4d6k2+4;4d6k3;3d6

@lysette - do you want to get the investigation (visiting a smith) thread rolling or shall I? Happy to do so, but also keen for you to lead due to higher status and fewer Almanac activities for you character on D4.
@laena - given Roland now knows the exciting offer made by Ser Donnel was suggested by Laena (http://greatbastards.boards.net/post/5491/thread), and having dispatched Ser Quentyn Ball handily (making me a potentially useful weapon against Ser Aegor Rivers and co), happy if this or the Alicent/Septa Tyane events give you an in for a thread idea IC. Given status gap, things probably have to flow in that direction unless Roland has a dramatic need to seek an audience. I've not thrown my lot in with either side yet (leaning Blood due to Fire supporter behaviour so far), so I'm available for recruitment!

Oh, bugger. I rather screwed that up. I could have sworn I specifically made clear: a sworn sword, *not* a Companion (that's tantalizingly close, but only available once he proves his chivalry credentials), but checking the thread I discussed it with Donnel: nope! I somehow completely failed to mention that part of the plan. Was it in a dream or something, instead? Urgh.
Ah, well. Laena has a lot on her mind. I suppose the oversight could be IC as well.
Anyway, to actually respond to the idea: hmmm. Some ideas are forming, though it likely depends on what exactly Balon does, primarily whether he listens at all to his social better taking time out of her day to temper his nihilism with ... I don't know what philosophy I'm espousing. Personal responsibility? Individualism, maybe?
While direct recruitment isn't really my style at the moment (I'm publicly neutral, still), the expansion of my plans to include the Starlings does mean there are ways & reasons developing to pull you into my (entirely benign) web.

Ser Donnel might just as well have heard sworn sword and thought you meant the companions! He would expect his son to be put in the best position available anyway!

It does make sense in that regard. I'm sure Lys has heard of some of the details of the murder by now, so she'd know to ask him.
Okay I'll get something started today.

Okay, cool. I edited it in, hopefully in a way in which Ser Donnel could reasonably have in his head 'Balon is to be a Companion', while not actually saying that. Parents, eh?

I think we decided in House Starling OOC that I'd inform everyone within the house of what happened and give you and Ser Daeron each a dagger as evidence, retaining one for myself? Sorry if this didn't come across as clearly as intended? Then we decided to leave investigation for D4 as it was late in the OOC period for D3 and presumably late in the day on D3 in character.

Oh yeah! No, wasn't your fault. I just brainfarted. You're correct on all counts.
Now Roland is going to be preparing for the joust and jousting, yeah? So is this something Lysette is starting out on her own doing? At what point do you envision their collaboration beginning?

So is this something Lysette is starting out on her own doing? At what point do you envision their collaboration beginning? Post D4's joust (or at least Roland's match), with Roland serving as honour guard (lets us drop in some chat on joust drama as we go, but may delay participation from PCs whose matches are unfinished)? Or pre-joust in the same role? Feel free to set the scene. You were informed on D3, so really can take action whenever suits you on D4. @laena - glad we've waited on thread for a natural feel rather than jamming in too many forced PC meetings. Look forward to being pulled in to the "benign web" (presumably made of chivalry and honour!) at the appropriate time.

If you are rolling more than 3or so rounds at the same time it would probably be faster to separate by roll type. You COULD do: day 4 LAVPM rnd x-y braced, noble, eyes fixed, aggressive +2, SiS, CYB
5#4d6k2+4;5#4d6k3;5#3d6 to do 5 rounds in one roll, but the results would be awfully cluttered.

Putting lie to my own words, now Balon has decided to ignore my words, and go the easy path, combined with Ser Otho being just as despicable towards one of my tools lord's knights, after the joust, I now see Laena being rather on the warpath, through a mix of anger and disappointment. Depending on Balon's responses in the prior thread, this could end up with Laena going publicly 'fuck these honourless Fire scum forever', but at the very least, Roland, do you feel up to being at the receiving end of a very, very angry, Intrigue-heavy Great Bastard going full Political on you (not because she's angry at you, you're just convenient)? Say, starting in the Tourney grounds, after the jousting (in terms of IC chronology)?

Don't blame Balon for the gods' disapproval of bestiality.
