"As my sister says, 'I am Aerion Flowers, of Houses Targaryen and Starkwood, Knight of the Reach, Champion of the Seven, and soon to be winner of these recent events!' " he says with a bow, catching on to his sister's hidden message but trying to break the seriousness. Laena gives an affectionate small eye-roll at her brother's antics, but remains quiet. "The commoners would certainly enjoy such a tilt! Perhaps some ladies would as well?" Ser Donnel directs the last question to lady Pyre, hoping to draw her into the conversation, understanding that the lady would probably not feel to have too much to contribute in talks of martial prowess. Laena smiles. "You may certainly count on my attendance and enjoyment. But please, much as it speaks well of your manners to try to involve me in your conversation, I know that knights love to speak about knightly things, which is harder with a lady present. Ser Donnel, I will speak with you on the morrow, Aerion, I will no doubt speak with you later; but who knows if the two of you will have opportunity to talk again ere you meet in the final? "So, unless there is more either of you wish to discuss with me present, I will depart, allowing you both freer reign over your tongues."

As Laena leaves, Aerion gives her thanks and a bow as well and watches as she blends back into the crowd. Turning to the older knight beside him, he asks, "I hope indeed we meet in the later rounds. And to the largest of audiences."
"Will you also be joining in the melee?"

"The seven sided melee? I will, provided there is room! Given how there is only 49 knights that can participate, I will guess the competition will be fierce! And I first have to secure my son a place before I can seek one for myself!"
Ser Donnel looks ser Aerion up and down before adding: "Given that you are a great bas... Given your status, it would be fair to assume that you will get a place. Tomorrow I intend to invite a few seasoned knights for a bit of friendly sparring. You have the poise of a swordsman, and we would be pleased to have you, if you can spare the time?"
"Do you know wether your... family will also attend the melee? Or will they settle for the joust?

Aerion notes the hesitation to call him a great bastard and files it away in his impressions of the man in front of him. Another good quality, restraint.
"Ah yes, ever is it the duty of the Father to care for his Children." the inflection and Aerion's known piety make it obvious that it applies both to the Father as well as men siring offspring.
"I do intend to participate, and between my.. Status, as you say, as well as my relation to Lord Tyrell I imagine there should be little trouble for myself. And should I get the chance, I could put in a word regarding you and your son's entry." he offers genuinely. "As to sparing, well... I would let myself down if I gave up an opportunity to learn from wiser men." This last bard he says with a smile and Ser Donnel should know it's in good spirits.
"As for my family, well that is another matter. I can't imagine my sister would take to the field, although in truth should someone slight her I wouldn't put her against seven men in all of Westeros and expect her not to triumph." he says soberly. "She's got dragon's fire in her blood, my dear sister." I suppose that blood runs in me as well.
"But I suspect that many of my half siblings may indeed take part, of at least make the attempt. We shall see!

Ser Donnel considers the offer: "I will let you see me and my get spar on the morrow, then you may recommend us, if you find us capable enough. Given that you will have to fight with us, it will be proper that you first see how we perform!" Ser Donnel then lowers his voice in a conspiratorially: "Although I must admit, I think my son will prove as formidable of a warrior as you could wish for!"
Winking Ser Donnel advices: "If you will take one lesson from an old man: When people refer to you as wise, it is usually because they are too courteous to call you old!"
Ser Donnel laughs amiably: "I can truly envision her, and would not wish to stand against her wroth!"
[Given that day 2 has started, should we call a scene? As Ser Donnel and Ser Aerion stands exchanging grossly exaggerated tales the camera cuts away?]

[Yep, that works for me. I wanted to make sure that I got to offer some help before the scene ended, and I did that, so now on to day 2!
