While the fabled Oakenseat has long since been destroyed, the seat fashioned for the vain Lord Matthos Tyrell in all it's golden splendor and intricate detail is fit for a king. On his high perch, Lord Leo Longthorn holds court as his lords bannermen one after another file in to be announced, bend the knee in affirmation of loyalty and eat of Highgarden's bread and salt, each offering the usual phrases of flattery of which there are not even close to half as many variations as there are lords of the Reach. Up on the gallery, with his short stocky feet dangling over the balustrade, sits High Lord Butterbumps, the fifteenth of his name, the fool of all fools, Lord Protector of the Low Gardens, Plucker of all maiden's flowers, Master of Japes, Bawdy Tales and of you, commonly addressed and spoken of as Butterbumps, the dwarf, the fool or some other shorthand. The wicked little man watches the proceedings with great interest and uncharacteristic silence.

Only posts regarding the choices made in the event should go here, though some IC is heavily encouraged to describe your appearance, clothes, mannerisms, thoughts and so on, and introduction to the story of your character if you will, if you chose to make tests
I will not necessarily catch any edits, so if you later update a post with more rolls and info that I need to look at, such as step 2 choice and any critical failures, you should make a notification with link to your post in your private forum.

Characters that does not qualify for chivalry or virtue must pass a TN 12 Status(Reputation) test to gain entry to the ceremony in Great Hall.
Step 1: Introductions
The attending Lords will be announced and offered bread and salt (extending guest rights to their retinue), it is an opportunity to meet and greet the assembled nobility (PC's are encouraged to meet and greet each other). Knights recently having entered a lord's service as well as any children or other changes in family matters are often presented. Any character may attempt approach Lord Tyrell during the reception and offer something than the usual flattery that nobody really listens to anyway. A lord or members of his retinue may go through this process with little fanfare, simply allowing the heralds to announce them and repeat the words of everyone else to affirm their loyalty, requiring no tests to do so.
Those who would like to be noticed may optionally attempt:
Status (Reputation)+chivalry/virtue TN 15 To be noticed.
Language (Breeding) TN 12 To present yourself with grace and dignity.
The TN's may be different for some characters.
Simple failure on either of these tests will leave the lord bored as he waves you away. Critical failure causes major embarrassment.
Tilt: If succeeding on both the previous tests, you may attempt one out of the following tests:
Knowledge (Education) or Cunning (Memory) TN 12 to mention some historical tie between Highgarden and you or your ancestors that is flattering to House Tyrell (Not available for House Levalle)
Deception (Bluff) TN 12 to shower Lord Tyrell with false praise. (He is unremarkable save for his tourney prowess, and everyone mentions that).
Critical failure causes major embarrassment.
Rewards:
Scoring 3+ DoS Total: Gain +1D on the step 2 test.
Success on all three tests: The disposition of Lord Tyrell improves by +1 for the duration of the tourney, +1 glory.
6+ DoS Total, +1 Chivalry/Virtue.
Highest Total DoS (and success on all three tests) among those actively speaking favorably (or unfavorably) of King Daeron or Daemon Blackfyre at the reception: +1 Blood or Fire point, marking you as a known vocal supporter of that faction.
Twist: If critically failing on any previous test, you or another character may attempt to recover from the embarrassment, test:
Awareness(empathy) TN 12
Cunning(Breeding) TN 12
Persuasion/Deception(Any) TN 12
Critical Failure on any of these, or failure to achieve at least 3 DoS total leads to Lord Leo being gravely insulted and demanding satisfaction.
Special: Spending DP or Influence affects all tests made in this step.
Step 2: Mingling
After the many, many lords bannermen of Highgarden have presented themselves and affirmed their loyalty, and eaten of the bread and salt offered by Lady Rhonda, the guests fill out the hall, servants bringing trays of snacks and refreshments from group to group. Lord Tyrell and his family remains in their high seat, with the heralds now having the ungrateful task of managing all those desiring a word with Lord Tyrell, some who may take offense at certain others being given the opportunity before they are. Almost immediately calling attention to himself, the young Lord Karl burst into booming laughter at some quip made by Lord Durwell, the handsome Lord of Norhall appears to be among the most active on this occasion, exchanging a flurry of warm handshakes, smiles and quick words, as if he intends to get all the news from all his friends, including those he is yet to be acquainted with.
In one corner, with a considerably less jolly atmosphere, the fat Lord Eldon Merryweather has claimed one of the chairs that is in the hall in case the old or pregnant may need to sit down, his cheeks bulging over to both sides of it, presently engaged in conversation with his sister, Lady Kyra Orme and her husband, a sneer forms on his lips as he spies the Lady Alicent across the room, his betrothed utterly ignores him as she listens to Ysilla Flowers, the great bastard telling her tale with great enthusiasm. Her brother, Ser Farman has found himself a fellow Great Bastard in Bittersteel, the two are joined by Fireball in hushed conversation. Lord Florent and his natural nephew exchanges a few words and a nod before both set out to meet and greet others. Lords Hightower, Rowan and Peake seems to not move around at all, as other lords are practically lining up to have words, it is as if all three are holding courts all on their own.
Sers Roland Redwyne and Aubrey Ambrose seems to have struck up conversation with Lord Oakheart concerning the battle of the Prince's Pass, the latter scowling at the sight of anyone with a Dornish look to them, such as Ser Desmond Bridges in conversation with his granduncle Lord Bryce and Lord Owen Roxton. Elsewhere Lady Johanna Meadows, son in tow, have found the Cordwayners, with the meek and hunched Lord Ilyn almost invisible between his wife and natural brother. Lord Oakheart's bastard brother speaks intently with Lord Caswell, and nearby Ladies Cuy and Cockshaw seems to find great joy in seeing each other again.
The Reacher lords are all here (save perhaps for a few who presumably have been delayed on the road), most guests from elsewhere (notably all who would enter from the east by the Roseroad) are expected to arrive tomorrow. There is an opportunity to try and meet some of the notables gathered here (which will typically be easier than otherwise). PC's may chose one:
A. No scene with an NPC.
B. Scene with NPC according to narrator whim.
C. Suggest type of scene and NPC player might like.
D. Attempt to interact with a specific NPC, select whom you'd like and then test status(reputation)+Chivalry/Virtue, options (and their difficulty) listed below (mark your choice in the roll description). Upon a failure, you may pick one of the other options.
According to narrator whim, NPC's may seek out PC's (they may have agendas, the narrator may want to introduce them, or the narrator may feel like taking the opportunity to put a drawback or two to the test). PC's may have as many interactions with other PC's as they like.

While most characters from the Reach with an entry in the cast of thousands thread are present and available, these are the NPC's that the narrator has notes about and thus likely to be among the more interesting choices (there are also notes for characters from home houses, these have been omitted in case a player might come along, but they can also be made available). The difficulties tries to reflect how many others are trying to get in a few words with them, how interested they are to get to know other people and in some cases it reflects arrogance and stuffiness.
