The Vulture's words made Daeron ponder for a moment.
He's right that gelding would be a truer justice than murder. Why did I jump to the more brutal solution right away? Is it because I'm frustrated by Eldon's constant evasion of justice and I'm taking it out on another? Yeah, probably.
But damn, as much as I hate to admit it, he's right.
"I suppose you are correct that gelding would be true justice. He might be a scoundrel, raper, and drunken squire beater, but to my knowledge he's not a murderer." Yet.
"If the Seven demand gelding for the crime of rape, then let deliver their justice.
I have no desire to be fingered as a culprit, so if you have men that can perform their task without my presence then I am fine with the road or Oldtown. I'm sure that Dorne is crawling with men who would love to see a Tarly punished for his crimes and should they be caught the old grudge between House Tarly and literally every Dornish family would be an obvious motive."

"But then we might be better served with the original idea, ill intent on the road would require a sizable force to pacify him and any companions he might be travelling with, along with the potential witnesses, and leaving him freshly cut in a ditch could be no more than a cruel death." Eustace strokes his chin. "Or we might be forced to leave witnesses behind, perhaps a lesser concern if only hired blades are involved. More expensive than simple murder, certainly"

"If you think that Oldtown is our best opportunity to bring about justice without being caught then I will defer to your expertise on the matter. He is known for being a heavy drinker and I suppose that it would be easier to drug his wine than to ambush him on the road."
He gives a wave of his hand, emulating the high lords giving orders.
"Make it done and we can consider ourselves even."

"We may even have a chance at blaming Ser Otho for the deed, I imagine his thirst for vengeance on Ser Mikel will attract him to the big wedding" Ser Eustace obviously seems to remember what the Brute of Bracken had wrought at Highgarden, or else he would not have brought the subject up. "Any man stopping to think would deduce that Ser Otho's presence would have no connection with any poisonings of others, but most men knows him for a monster and few care to spend any effort to ask who else might have done the deed, to conspire to have him brought to trial by combat for it, now that is almost as challenging as actually seeing him defeated.....but if you were in a mood to try, you have time to prepare."

He stroked his chin at the idea, The Vulture clearly had a solid idea of who Daeron was as a person and what motivated him, and Daeron would very much like to see another blackguard brought to justice. It might even bring House Tarly over to the Blackfyre camp in a roundabout way, though an actual Trial by Combat would be better left to Redtusk or Ser Daemon himself.
"I would very much like fingers to be pointed at the Brute of Bracken rather than me, though I don't deeply relish the idea of facing him in combat a second time. The melee at Highgarden was enough to convince me of that, but as you say, we have time to prepare."

"You have time to prepare for the opportunity, should it arise" Ser Eustace appears to not intend to commit heavily. "I know which wheels in Oldtown to grease to level the accusations towards him, but the rest I would leave to others."

He nods silently, still hating himself for collaborating with such a devious individual who was definitely setting him up for some sort of spectacular disaster, but despite his self-loathing, he hated Simon more.
Daeron drained his cup and got up to leave.
"I'll leave the details to your discretion, but let us both depart before prying eyes and wagging tongues make more of our meeting than others need to know."
