“Every dragon loves gold, there is no real value in confirming the known. Your loyalty to a dead man isn’t necessarily what I’m after either. These are unique times, and it is far from unheard of for a lady to remarry after a death...”
He lets out a slight sigh, “Well, considering that the only rumors I have managed to get on you is so limited, the story that comes along with the truth to my second rumor doesn’t seem too out of the question, does it?” He smiles slightly, anything to try to make this bargain favorable on his end

Laena folds her arms. "So, because you provided less information, I should provide more? I fail to discern the logic, brother." While her tone is reasonably firm, a flicker of amusement in her visage indicates that she has not ruled out agreeing, but is enjoying putting pressure on him to see how he reacts. Testing him, taking his measure.

He opens his hands before him, "If anything, the lack of information I have is a testament to your abilities, not a failure on mine," He narrows his eyes slightly, keeping his tone playful, "Trust is built by small things, as you've said, building to big things. I may not have much now, but that doesn't have to stay that way.
"I will keep this agreement as we proceed into the future. If I do find anything else on you, you will be the first to know," he raises his eyebrows, "To make up for the lack of information I have now, I promise more later, if you are willing to share," He understands that he doesn't have much now, but the future is full of the unknown. He hopes that that potential is enough to entice his sister.

"Hmmm." She seems to consider the offer carefully, stroking her chin, for a few moments, but he can tell she's already decided, just trying one last trick to see if he'll be tempted to add a sweetener to push her over the edge. When none is forthcoming, she drops her hand back to her side, and casts her eyes around carefully to make sure no-one has moved within eavesdropping distance. "Fine. Agreed.
"Story time, then. I believe I know the events to which you are referring." She takes a few moments to consider how best to phrase things. "After being out of mourning for a while, I wanted a lover, so I took one.
"Not immediately - he had to *earn* that right - but he set about doing so with great passion. He gave me expensive gifts, and worshipped me as if I were the Mother Reborn. As is only right and proper. Despite the lack of credible rivals, he did not cease or falter in his efforts.
"The Black Tourney was a ...trying time for many. At the end was a party where .. various inhibitions - and a few maidenheads - were lost. I decided - admittedly while not entirely sober - that I needed my lover's services, for the first time.
"He was even more inebriated than I, yet still able to meet my needs. When I awoke afterwards, rather more sober, all sorts of reasons for not wanting him to remember the event came to mind. Many, many reasons. Yet, he was not so drunk as to forget the night entirely, so I decided on a ploy. I was able to track down a lady of the evening who catered to Targaryen fetishists - no true Blood in her, just cheap facsimiles - and paid her to sleep in the bed and pretend that my lover had spent the night with her instead of me.
"Even if it didn't accomplish my goals, it would still amuse me.
"As it happened, it worked well, and it wasn't until months later that he remembered the night in enough detail to uncover the deception.
"Just as well I don't like him for his brains."
She gives a small mock curtsey. "There you go, the story of how I filled someone else's bed with a compensated companion. Perhaps not as entertaining a story as it could be, but the truth seldom is."

Rhaegor listened to his sister intently, gathering as much of it up as he could. Her word choice, the structure of the story, all of it. He paused for thought, wondering if asking who would be too much of a favor.
He decided against it; he didn't care much, and if she wanted to tell him she would have.
Not to mention her leaving the name out of the conversation means that there would be trouble if anyone discovered who the other party was.
Rhaegor nodded as she finished, "Entertainment holds little value where the truth is concerned. Lies are where the real entertainment is," He tucks his hands into his sleeves, straightening up slightly, "A fascinating tale, and I can see how the rumor made its way to me based on the circumstances."
"So, I can only imagine that you have something you would like me to do?" He smiles coyly at his sister, "I would love to hear about what you are interested in achieving,"

Laena bites her lip briefly. "There is something that I have in mind. I wish to have a weapon forged. a Subtle Knife. Made of very specific materials, that in fact do not exist yet. If they never exist, I will be satisfied. But I suspect, sooner or later, they will.
"I do admit, I am not even certain if I wish for the knife to be used or not. A lot depends on the 'when' and how far along my own plans are. But should the materials exist, I wish to have the option. And it would be easier to forge the weapon if you are looking out for the materials' appearance, than have to find them after.
"And, should the knife be used, there must be absolutely no way to claim that my fingers ever touched it."
Leaning forward, she whispers the materials she wishes forged into his ear.

Rhaegor smiles briefly before pursing his lips together, looking at his sister with a new found fire, "These materials are certainly unique, not ones that I have actually ever seen, but I know someone who is an expert with this kind of forging.
"Though, I have to ask, waiting for these materials to make their way to us is not going to be an expedient process, and I doubt that my expert will be able to find them before the war to come." He clicks his toungue behind his teeth as he taps his lower lip, "I am sure that some of these could be fabricated, if you would prefer? While it will not be the same knife, it will be a knife never the less.
"I will alert my friend of your request, and get on it as soon as the materials make their way to me." He gives a small bow, smiling as he looks at his sister, the thoughts he had previously returning to his mind, causing a short exhale to leave his nose.

Laena clearly considers for a few moments. "Not yet. It could be that circumstances change and a counterfeit knife is required. But for now, time is on our side. By the time that changes, alternate materials could be available.
"I distrust counterfeit items. However skilled the forger, they have an annoying habit of breaking, and when hunting dangerous game, that can be a fatal outcome."

He nods, "As you wish. Would hate for this to be forged only to break when the time comes to use it."
A thought crosses his mind, before he asks plainly, "This knife, I assume it is a gift? For your lover?"

"To my mind, gifts are only ever truly given to one person - the giver themself." An answer? A deflection by way of cynical observation? It's unclear, but it seems to be the best answer Laena will give on the subject.

He nods slightly, shrugging as he let out a thoughtful, “Hm,” He didn’t expect an answer, and the fact she deflected in such a manner was all he needed to hear. No reason to push further, she gave him the information he wanted and an assignment that got his valyrian blood pumping. “Well sister,” he smiled, bowing slightly, “I think this reunion has reached its end. I will be in touch, of course,” he raises an eyebrow, “Unless there is anything else I can do for you?” His eyes scan her once more, before meeting hers, staring into them for almost a second too long

She smiles and shakes her head. "I think that is sufficient, for now. Thank you ... for making life that little bit more interesting."
She curtseys. "Until we meet again."

He gives no words in response, just a soft chuckle coupled with a bow, before he slipped back into his Maester persona, stone faced and uninterested, taking his leave quickly. If she watched him go, he gave a glance back over his shoulder as he went, purple eye stealing one final look at her before walking along. Shaking his head slightly with a snort, he whispered to himself, "Lady Leana... hm,"
