Abelar launches into a diatribe against Lord Eldon, reprising much of his favorite material, although he has sanded down the sharper edges so as not to cause any violence this time. The churlish lord is guilty as sin, as proven by the brute's swollen, intemperate form, the low character of his compatriots, and all the other evidence that others have put forward. Careful listeners realize that the Septon has not uncovered any of his own facts, but is instead backing others (piggybacking?) who have worked harder to find the truth. (P 2.5 Pork Sausage) Influence Crowd (Jumped to C) (Orator) (Famous)-Audience;Awareness;Cunning;Convince (Bluff): 7d6k6 17 v. 12 7d6k5 18 v. 9 6d6k5 18 v. 9 7d6 25 v. 9 (Orator) for 2/2/2/4 = 10 DOS, all success, so 20 VP scored for guilty

It becomes clear that Lord Eldon did not rape Lady Mya, though perhaps not everyone are willing to allow themselves to see it, and most are very much unwilling to publicly acknowledge it. Too many voices calls for punishment for Lord Peake to ignore them, but he falls short of finding Lord Eldon guilty of rape. A difficult balancing act Lord Florent would observe once in private, how not to make an enemy out of Lord Eldon while not turning all those already considering him an enemy of all decent folk into easy pickings for the sellout of Goldengrove. The latter is only disappointed, and the former is not truly insulted. Although the cold rage in Lord Eldon's eyes is ominous for the Hastwyck's, those who added their voices to their attempt to have him gelded and Lord Peake as well. To him, anything short of a full exoneration, as befits a lord of his stature, is a clear insult. It is the principle that counts, when Lord Peake declares that he is to provide the dowry for Lady Mya once she weds, and that it must match the expectations to the dowry provided had she been Lord Merryweather's own daughter, for Longtable it is hardly a cost worth noting, but it implies that he somehow is guilty. Of course, Lord Peake would involve himself in finding a husband, thus rewarding a loyal favorite of his. And that, the pig fumes, is just as intolerable as if he believed their lies. If lords can steal from him in broad daylight and get away with it, then Merryweather is no longer a name to be feared, and as Lord Eldon knows all too well, he is not loved, and thus he must be feared. Very much feared. His response must be swift and terrible, to deter any notions men might have about crossing him like the Hastwyck's have done.
Summary so far, will do dispositions and the like later: Guilty: Laena(Hidden) 42 Roland 14 Daeron 22 Trystane 18 Addam 24 Aemon 22 Marq (hidden) 26 Abelar 20 Sum: 188 Not Guilty: Balon* 6 Aerion 24* Redtusk 9 Marq handing witnesses to Eldon: 30 Blackfyre 28 Sum: 97 188/(188+97)=66% Proceeding with the results, certain behind the scenes stuff could warrant an extension, but since the outcome of that cannot budge the outcome here, not waiting. *I am presuming that you are not giving any false testimonies (though that would have the same effect as it's a simple failure in that case), evidence/testimony is found by those rolling high enough and your effective 1 DoS results aren't. Lynesse might do as she pleases with her findings, though. *All VP doubled includes those from investigating.

Daeron grumbles at the verdict, but finds himself begrudgingly in agreement with the wisdom of it. It seemed that Lord Eldon was innocent, of this rape at least.
Without the support of Blackfyre or Redtusk, he doubted that few men present could or would stand against Rennifer. Better that he suffer some consequences than completely escape justice once more, plus it suddenly made Lady Mya an attractive bride with such a handsome dowry behind her.

Trystane joins his brother in similar grumblings, but tries to reassure Daeron that justice will find them eventually.

Lord Eldon calls upon Lynesse as a first hand witness to the proceedings, or rather, their aftermath. Lynesse gives testimony that she saw Lady Hawyck leave Lord Eldon’s tent in the company of her Lord father, adequately chaperoned and unassailed. Her manner is tense throughout her sworn testimony, and it is clear that she chooses her words carefully, being less than enthusiastic with the position she finds herself in. Indeed, the very reserved, almost pained, confirmation she gives to her own testimony after the fact lends it far more credence, for her clear desire to have other news to share lends her testimony all the hallmarks of honest candour.
Lynesse hands over her witness [herself] to Eldon , and influences the crowd toward his innocence by confirming her testimony in conversation.
