[Phase 2.5] Shining like Goldengrove, Tourney - Vainglorious, Will (Dedication) TN12: 4d6k3 14, Pass Making a point of non-attendance: +1 Fire-2 Disposition House Rowan____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Location: An inn northeast of Bitterbridge. Balon had returned from the Riverlands and was making his way along the Roseroad when he stopped at an inn for the night. In the common room he drank and spoke with travelers and hedge knights. "Go to Goldengrove? Are you mad?! Why in the fuck would I go to a tournament hosted by the great betrayer Lord Thaddeus?" Balon was incredulous at the question posed to him by the hedge knight. "He spent too much time in Dorne and came back spitting in the face of Andal traditions. Did you hear what he's doing with the joust champions? Win or lose his *champions* retain their place. Tell me in what world is that ok?" Balon spit on the floor in disgust then took a drink of beer from his stein. "It's bad enough he sold the Kingdoms out to Dorne, now he marries his kin to those filthy beasts."Location: Cider Hall House Fossoway's lord had declared his support for Ser Daemon and Balon visited to pay his respects to Lord Jaime. After being granted permission to stay at the castle for the evening Balon found his way to the great hall to drink with the men at arms and other functionaries. "Did you notice that excluding the Longthorn the best jousters weren't invited?" Balon snapped at one soldier when Ser Sebaston was mentioned, "I said *good* you bloody oaf. Did you see what Ser Aemon did to him at Highgarden? Made him look like a runty squire still wet behind the ears." Balon spoke highly of those still considered neutral, "I respect Lord Roxton, Ser Dennis (Hightower), every Tarly, but lets be honest this is pandering of the highest order!" Balon was quick to catch himself and not exclude Lord Leo, "Lord Leo attends as is his duty but if anyone thinks he leans towards the crown you're mistaken." Balon raised his cup, "To the Black Dragon!"Location: Near Highgarden "Why don't I go to Goldengrove? I don't know, maybe because it's a wedding for a murderer and rapist?" Balon was in a winesink preaching to anyone that would listen. "Didn't you hear? Ser Symon (Starkwood) raped Lady Alicent Florent at a party in honor of the late Lord Karl Willum." Balon recalled the events of the evening, repeating the carefully crafted lie that Symon took advantage of a very drunk and very chaste Lady Alicent. "The poor girl was sent to a motherhouse while *Ser*," the word ser dripped with scorn, "Symon walks free. And what has he done since then? Murdered another man at Summerhall." After trashing the reputation of the groom he moved onto Lord Thaddeus and how the Kingdoms would suffer long term with the concessions Dorne had received.

Lord Marq Durwell appears to be playing his endless games, being seen escorting Lady Gwenys Rivers in the very model of traditional courtship, spending hours locked in a game of tiles with Lady Shiera Waters, loosing quite graciously in the end, and competing with Lady Mya Rivers in outdoing one another in the art of balancing on the edge of what can be considered unseemly topics of conversation and suggestive body language, where he apparently claims victory. The apparent pursuit of these three very different ladies further fuels the suspicion that as much as he clearly enjoys the company of each, he enjoys keeping everyone guessing even more. His toast to the king is immaculate, but he frustrates all those who might have hoped for a commitment of professed loyalty beyond the polite reassurances and empty promises. Considering how many hands are offered to him in marriage, whether directly or implied, he does not have much time for politics anyway, unless of course, he sees fit to throw in choice words Let's invite the Seastar..because, reasons.: 10d6k7+5 33 7d6k4+2 22Long Live the King!: 4d6+2 16 7d6k4+2 23 2#8d6k5+5 33 262+3+4+3=12 DoS, so 12 status worth of +1 dispositions. +1 Blood, +2 Disposition with Lord Rowan (To a max of +4) Cloak and Dagger? Daeron was an okay guest at Goldengrove, and for the most part he contented himself with remaining quiet and letting Lord Rowan’s bootlickers enjoy the pageantry and inane roasts to their feeble king. Outside of the joust, he spoke up in favor of any future civil war being a relatively civil affair for the knights involved. Although his words were well-spoken and his desire for an honorable conflict sincere, his argument carried less weight here given his well-known sympathies towards Ser Daemon’s cause. Perhaps some in the room just found his presence there to be suspicious? After the feasting was done, he turned his attentions away from some of the virtues that he had just espoused to remove the claws that House Rowan was trying to embed in the other houses of the Reach by whispering into Ser Abelar’s ear about how he doesn’t need to look towards the Rowans for support for his regency. Lady Kyra does not feel quite like engaging in partisan politics, but she has nothing but scorn for Septon Abelar who robbed the world of her brother, taking care to only mention Ser Owen and not Lord Eldon. Robyn was beyond excited to experience his brother's wedding, and as a knight to boot. He was ready to experience the tournament, the drinking, the partying, all of it. He didn't quite know his bride to be, not well enough, but she seemed perfect for him, to the best of Robyn's knowledge. But his interest wasn't in the party, not anymore. As Lady Falyse walks in, her fire slowly rekindled, Robyn couldn't help but steal a few glances over at her. She was... beautiful. When they last parted, she was a shell of her former self and Robyn could barely stand seeing her like that. But now... well, courtship wasn't anything he had any experience in, but might as well give it a shot. He eagerly joined Lady Falyse in her cheer, and hoped to talk to her in private.
The way I see it, I would test for vainglorious at the separate Joust event, not here, correct? Either way, a TOAST! SLG - Toast for the King: Cunning: 3d6 10 1 DoS

Considering the knights hoping to serenade Lady Shiera, invite her for a walk in the gardens or other activities, The Seastar has her pick of suitors, and remains playful and non-committal, reveling in the rivalries so created with a few hints at the competition a prospective suitors faces, and so the whispers grows of her desirability, though the duels fought for her favor are not among knights of as high birth and renown as those who challenged one another for the affections of her great grandmother. I reject your event structure and substitute my own: 5d6 15 7d6k5 24 8d6k5 28

Now updated spreadsheet for bringing together results (any new developments requires notification to avoid being missed).
There is some fudging of certain results because the event mechanics allows outcomes that defies logic, but all efforts has meaningful results (unless one rolls too low), however:
The presence of Lady Kyra Orme (or one of her handmaidens, each more frightening than the other) watching over her daughter like a hawk hinders the efforts dissuades young Kyle and Amerei to dare go beyond the standard courtesies, leading to an awkward situation both eagerly seizes upon the first opportunity to escape (OOC this is Lynesse's drawback at work, IC it's attributed as described).

Sebaston Rowan emerges as a strong contender for Daena Roxton's hand, the second son of one of the most powerful houses in The Reach, the alliance brought can match almost any rival, though aside from his tourney prowess, there is much left to be desired with Ser Sebaston, thus providing an opening for other rivals to dislodge him from he pole position. Despite Daeron's warnings, the strength of House Rowan behind his claim to regency would favor Ser Abelar greatly, and Lady Aemma is a delightful lady that few knights could resist the prospect of marrying, although fierce opposition would be expected to such a union from the rest of his family, so no agreement can be made at this time. If not for nasty rumors surrounding Lord Blackmont, Lady Lynesse might find herself preparing for the journey into the land of snakes and vultures, not likely to return, by her understanding, her uncle and Lord Harmen were in agreement of just about everything, although Ser Eustace is probably holding out hope that he might sell her as pigfeed. It would increasingly appear as Lord Harmen cares little about dowries or alliances, maybe not even Lynesse as a bedwarmer, but merely finding it an agreeable union and a way to help his kin secure their control over Mustard Hall. While Lady Amerei seems flattered by the attention given by Lynesse and young Kyle who have decided to be on his good behavior this time, Lady Kyra is anther matter entirely, pointedly making steely remarks showing that she is well informed of the situation at Mustard Hall, and there will be no bethrothal for as long as Ser Eustace remains regent. Likely Ser Eustace will find an easy pretext in Amerei's age to put such discussions on hold. Kyle cares not, best wait some years he thinks. By then her teats would grow out, Kyle doesn't really want someone skinny like old Kyra, someone with nice breasts such as Lynesse it must be, even better, like Alena's. Nuncle Eustace is so clever, he'll find someone like Alena for him. Though it is best to wait until he becomes lord, then he gets to pick whoever he likes, and he can send his uncle to tour Dorne to find the most tasty, tempting wife. Nuncle says that Dornish ladies in waiting are practicing seduction and the arts of love on one another? It isn't really sinful, see, The Seven Pointed Star only mentions man and woman not husband and wife. Although Kyle doesn't seem to mind the relaxed attitude of Dorne to that part of the text either. Lord Owen finds little fault in Titus, and Ellyn happens to like him, or maybe just a little bit awed by Laena, enough to remark that her sister will be taking her own measure of the alternatives on offer, although if Redtusk were to make a more serious move, odds are that brave Ser Titus will find himself thrown aside by a more impressive specimen of higher pedigree. Assuming they feel inclined to ally with a house rather deeply entrenched in the politics of the land. Falyse politely rebuffs Mikel's advances, he is of too low birth to be her husband, and cannot offer her the political weight she would require by her side in the dark days to come, though it would seem as if she merely cares naught for his gifts in the wake of her own tragedy, and her courtesies masks that she can likely never be his. It seems as if the playful girl asking for golden feathers have all grown up into a haunted woman who can find no rest until justice is visited upon those who took away her family, and once that is dealt with, she might very well consider a proposal. Lord Durwell is a popular man, some offers intrigues him, both Lady Aemma and Janna are both comely and clever, traits he can appreciate, but his option are so many, and some he opens for himself, he is no Targaryen that might take all three Great Bastard as half-sister wives, however much he could wish for such. Sooner that he might like, he must need decide, all these pretty ones will not remain unspoken for. One that he cares not for is Lady Amerei Tyrell, to share his life with her is not worth the alliance with Highgarden, but it amuses him to let her and Lord Leo believe otherwise. And were it not for that, she would surely soon be married to Ser Preston Oakheart, a man to Lord Leo's taste, and the heir to a prestigious bannerman. Turning down that offer for Lady Delia Blackbriar would simply not be done. Lady Amerei, however, holds out for Lord Marq's eventual assent, and will hear no suggestions to the contrary, leaving the place by Ser Preston's side open for those inclined to claim it. Lord Rowan is not overly impressed with the prospects of having Lady Janna join his house, preferring the stronger connection to the main line that Ser Abelar offers as well as winning the younger knight over to the cause which Ser Raymun already believes with. The young lady twirls Ser Sebaston into being very interested in such a union, clever as she is, but to her, that was too easy by half, leave the boring knights to the future Lady Roxton or something, she'd find his servile nature far more appealing. Lady Falyse likes young Robyn, and is ever grateful to him for saving her life, but marriage? No. The man she needs at her side is older and more experienced, by say, preferably ten years at least. The Reach being what it is, someone with no Rhoynar blood would be politically advantageous also. The way she says it though, it doesn't feel like Lady Falyse, she was ever playful, with a penchant for sending young knights and squires on quests for things that they fail to find and begin to suspect never existed in the first place. Now she approaches the subject of marriage as something were love or happiness has no place, only what her future husband is able to offer to help safeguard the future of Elwood and herself. Luck TN 9 (triggered by Dependent): 2d6 9Kyle does not do something to scuttle the efforts involving him towards House Orme. Mikel critfails awareness, fun happens.
