Since he was already starting to move back and to one side, Balon's two quick punches only clip Trystane's face, though they succeed in riling him up even more. With an almost primal roar of fury, he launches himself at Balon, not throwing a punch back but more trying to barrel into him and shove him backwards. HP: 10/12 F/I/W: 0/0/0 CD: 10 Passive Fighting: 16 Passive Athletics: 12 (Will add Passive Fighting and Athletics once I know them. Are they just the main skill for each x4? Or are there other base modifiers? The book failed to tell me.) FU - Rd1 - Fighting: 4d6k4 16 (I think that's 1 DoS but no damage. Fuck why are you all combat monsters?? Where did you get all these points from??) EDIT: Added passives

HP: 10/12 F/I/W: 0/0/0 CD: 10 FU - Rd1 - Fighting: 4d6k4 16 (I think that's 1 DoS but no damage. Fuck why are you all combat monsters?? Where did you get all these points from??) Your Passive Fighting is Your Ability score times 4, + x (x = specialty dice). Based on your roll you have no specialty dice in Brawling so your Passive Fighting is 16. Your Passive Athletics is the same formula but the Strength specialty is used.
It looks like your attack rolled matched my Passive Athletics so I'm Grabbed. My knowledge of opposed fighting rolls in brawling is a little fuzzy but I THINK I need to do a Lesser Action Fighting test and beat your roll of 16 to break free. You had 2 DoS vs. my CD so you did 4 damage (see below)
Finally, not including the use of Fatigue you get 2 Lesser Actions per turn. You can Aim + Attack, Knockdown + Attack, combine them into a Greater Action like Combined Attack (like I did). I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say your attack was a Combined Attack meaning you hit me for 4 damage. Bar Fight, vs. Trystane Sand, R2 Break Free of Grab TN16: 5d6 13, FailBar Fight, vs. Trystane Sand, R2 Knockdown TN16: 4d6 10, FailBar Fight, vs. Trystane Sand, R2 Reckless Attack: 6d6k6-1 21, 3 DoS, 3 Damage, You are grabbed now too.HP: 8/12 F/I/W: 1/0/0 CD: 10 (1) Passive Fighting: 20 Passive Athletics: 16 As Trystane barreled into him a combination of inebriation and his hatred of the Dornish drove Balon into a frenzy. Eschewing all sense of self preservation and defense Balon swung wildly at Trystane. "You dirty fuck, I'll kill you!" he roared as he punched Trystane as hard as he could in the midsection. During the scuffle Balon was unable to break free of the Dornishman's grip and failed to knock him down in an attempt to gain leverage. In order for me to knock you down I need to beat your Passive Agility which is at a minimum 16 (Agility x 4. I THINK there is a house rule that Balance specialty applies. Not sure though.

[ Thanks for the clarification. That helps a lot. A combined attack seems to describe what I was going for anyway but it's good to know it follows the same format as armed combat. New post will follow shortly. ]

(Looking at your previous actions, I see the Fatigue spent for an extra LA, but isn't Reckless Attack a Greater Action? Does making it part of a combined attack change things?) HP: 7/12 F/I/W: 1/0/0 (spending a Fatigue for extra LA) CD: 10 (-5 for being grabbed?) Passive Fighting: 16 Passive Athletics: 12 Passive Agility: 16 (18 if Quickness applies) LA: Break Free CA: Aim + Standard Attack FU - Rd2 - Break Free of Grab - Fighting: 4d6k4 9 (fail) FU Rd2 - SA + Aim -Fatigue: 5d6k4-1 8 (is that a crit fail or just a normal fail?)
The punch to his ribs nearly knocks the wind out of Trystane as he and Balon grapple with eachother, knocking aside a table and sending cups skittering across the floor, heedless to the collateral damage. The nearby serving girl lets out a startled gasp and scurries out of their path of destruction. "Not if I kill you first, you arrogant prick!" Trystane growls back in retort at Balon's threat. He tries to land a punch on Balon, but neither man can extricate himself from the other, making it hard to line up a hit, the blow just thudding into Balon's neck as they drag eachother around, locked in a strange, violent sort of waltz.

Reckless Attack is no longer a Greater Action. Reckless and Cautious are now "Techniques" that can be changed at the beginning of your turn as a Free Action. http://greatbastards.boards.net/thread/13/various-house-rules
I believe your Passive Athletics is 16 (Ability x 4). You failed to break free so you remained Grabbed, meaning your CD is 5 for my next attack. Your Attack roll was an 8 against my CD of 1 (10 Base - 5 Reckless - 4 Grabbed). Grabbed is normally -5 but can't bring a CD below 1. That's 2 DoS at 1 Damage per degree. My new HP total is 6/12. HP: 6/12 F/I/W: 1/0/0 CD: 10 (1) Passive Fighting: 20 Passive Athletics: 16 Bar Fight, vs. Trystane Sand, R3 Reckless Combined Attack: 6d6k6-1 24, 4 DoS, 8 Damage, Which is defeat.
As they wrestled back and forth Balon over committed to punching Trystane's midsection and knew a violent riposte was coming his way. Balon saw the punch heading for his neck and clenched assuming the worst but praying for the best. It seems the Seven answered as the blow landed at an odd angle and glanced off his neck. With renewed fury Balon shoved the Dornishman until he was pinned against the bar then began to pummel Trystane's body with blow after blow until he finished with a haymaker to his head. Balon would've continued hitting Trystane but several bar patrons had recovered enough of their senses to separate the two. Three men put their arms around Balon and began to drag him away despite him lunging at Trystane several times trying to get one last punch in. "You're lucky boy! You fucking better pray I don't find you in the melee! You hear me you cunt!" When there was enough space between the impromptu pugilists the men released Balon and barred his way from re-engaging. Balon spit on the ground before turning to leave, overturning a table with a roar of anger along the way to the exit.

[Don't I get a chance to take Injuries? I'm all for the fight being broken up but I'd like to have my fair chances if I am allowed to take them. Also thank you for the roll explanation. It's helpful.]

Taking injuries negates the "consequence free fistfight that gets broken up before it gets too serious" rule that we agreed upon. Additionally our Round 5 jousts (which happen the day after this thread) were already in motion before we decided to duke it out. Taking injuries now would mean they still applied to our jousts the following day.

Ok. I thought that with Fatigue being taken and the F/I/W being listed that Injuries were on the table too. Oh well, congrats on your win.

(Sorry for the length. I got a lot of visual ideas and the whole thing ran away with me a bit.)
Trystane does not take the pummelling in good humour, pushing back against the bar and jabbing his elbows & knees at Balon's torso, but he has him pinned just that bit too well, and it does little more than jostle him. He grunts and snarls like a bear as he tries to throw Balon off him, but the furious flurry of body blows keep him from being able to get any purchase.
Just as he tries to throw himself forward in a last-ditch attempt to headbutt Balon before the encroaching patrons pull them apart, Balon succeeds in landing a heavy punch to Trystane's temple, the forward momentum of his head connecting with the fist with such force that his vision fizzes with stars for several moments, giving way to a sickly blur, and the snap of pain as Balon's knuckles also clip his nose and lower lip on their way down to the bottom of his wild swing.
Then the pressure on his body lifts suddenly, as Balon is wrenched away by three other men and dragged backwards. Trystane grabs the bar behind him for balance, just barely holding himself up by his elbows while he tries to stagger to his feet. His mouth feels thick and wet, and he detects the metallic taste of blood filling it. A small sniff also confirms that his nose is bleeding too. He spits the mouthful of blood onto the floor, grateful to see no teeth in the dark red splat it leaves. He instinctively wipes at his mouth with the back of his hand, and is a little taken aback upon looking at it by just how much blood there is.
Stand up, damn it! Don't just dangle there like a fool!
He looks up and sneers at Balon's raging face, retreating backwards against its will as he struggles against the men dragging him to the door.
"Pray I don't miss the melee from being too busy fucking your sister!" he taunts in response. It far from his finest repartee - he's not even completely sure Balon has a sister - but it is the best he can come up with in his dazed state.
He tries to laugh off Balon's attempts to launch himself back into the fray, despite his private dread that he might succeed. The last thing he needed before a joust was to have any more damage done that there already was. He is relieved when Balon storms out, though he tries to look casual as he twists himself round to hold the bar more securely and steady his footing. He's probably not fooling anyone, but he gives the landlord a wryly apologetic look, managing something vaguely like a charming smile, despite the blood smeared across the lower half of his face and dripping a little onto the wood of the bar.
"I am terribly sorry about that, my good man," he says slowly through the punch-fog in his mind. His already swelling lip, nose, and jaw make his voice sound a little distorted, but the words can still be made out in the stunned relative quiet of the room, mostly populated with hushed murmurs. He fumbles for his coinpurse and fishes out a little stack of silver, pushing it towards the landlord with a bloodied hand.
"Allow me to buy a round for your trouble. Just give me a moment to collect myself, and I will be out of your hair."
He gives himself a few minutes getting his bearings in a corner seat before he feels steady enough to walk back to his tent, where he gives Quentyn yet another fright, and spends the rest of the evening mopping blood off his face and assessing his bruised ribs, accompanied by several big swigs of rum to dull the throbbing pain in his face and down his sides.
"Well, let's hope his brother is a bit better tempered," he says jokingly to Quentyn, who does not find the situation nearly as amusing.
