Lady Lynesse had been right to approach Daeron if she wanted her message amplified. Bloodraven was forming a private army and he knew no better man to inform than Ser Aegor, his sour-mouthed half-brother and Bracken scion. He had contacts among the Reach, Riverlands, and beyond who could not only confirm the existence of the Raven's Teeth, but also move to counter it. Moreover, Daeron had a few ideas on how to best advance Ser Daemon's cause. Half-Dragon All Bastard-Meet with Bittersteel: 6d6k4+6 20

Bittersteel seems to wear a perpetual scowl as he works tirelessly to gain assurances from various allies of his that they will not falter from the cause, and giving out assurances in turn that the righteousness of the cause will provide victory.

Bittersteel wasn’t his favorite sibling, Daeron found him to be haughty and quick to anger, but his cause was righteous. He quickly laid out Lynesse’s intelligence on the Blackwoods’ creation of a private army hidden in the Reach beyond the eyes of other River Lords as well as their alliance with House Stark in the North.
“I’m sure that many lords of the Riverlands might find this information distressing. If you could confirm or find evidence of it, it could even move House Tully to join the Brackens in an effort to counter this threat to their power, especially if framed as a resurgence of the Old Gods against the Seven.”
He would leave the exact execution and means of spreading the information to Bittersteel. The man certainly has a talent for it.

"We have been recruiting knights, Ser Daeron, we should assume that our foes does not sit idly by to watch" He appears neither surprised or concerned as he glides into delivering his customary propaganda. "But it speaks volumes of Bloodraven's cause when his response is to recruit peasants."

Daeron nods in agreement. He had a number of suspicions concerning the knights he had been recruiting, but preparing them to fight in the Riverlands made sense. Also, Aegor was right, recruiting peasants to kill knights just seemed more dubious.
“Then I assume that you have plans to expose their duplicity and quickly gather knights to embark on a sacred quest to protect their homes against the heathen tree-worshippers and their Northron allies? Like I said, House Tully might be interested in this intelligence if you can provide enough evidence. Such schemes might be proof of their plans to usurp the Riverlands.”
He then moves on to other topics. Bittersteel would do whatever he felt best regardless, but Daeron had political ideas as well and hoped that his input could shape his half-brother’s campaign to win hearts, minds, and swords.
“Unrelated to that, I think we should push Longtable into the Royalist camp. Though Lord Eldon is rich and powerful, his allegiance, or perceived allegiance, should be seen as a millstone around the neck of whomever he pledges to. He’s corrupt, reviled, and must fortify his ranks with foreign brutes because so few Westerosi will serve him anymore. For every man at arms that he contributes, two more will be given in opposition to Longtable.”

"If Bloodraven have found himself a lord allowing his men to gather and train as we should expect, we can do nothing." He dismisses the matter just as easily as Lord Eldon. "I think that man intends to wait until Highgarden calls the banners and send his knights and levies to march behind Lord Tyrell. A sensible strategy for a man who craves the trappings of power more than real thing."
"But we should not make him our enemy, however focused on the personal comforts and pandering his power affords him he tends to be, he has enough power and the wits to wield it to shift the balance in The Reach."

Lord Piggy became my enemy when he disrespected Lord Starling. That arrow has already been loosed.
"Very well, then what efforts are being made to secure the support of House Tyrell? Lord Leo's support would bring over the majority of the Reach that's not already in our camp, men and money enough to win the war. I doubt that there are any further honors or titles that the man could accumulate, but he might be interested in seeing his grandchildren sit on the Iron Throne.
His daughter is unwed as is Ser Daemon's heir. A marriage between the two would unite the Reach behind Blackfyre and the Longthorn, and perhaps settle the issue of where the Hightower leans given the recent betrothal between Ser Willas and Lady Alicent?

"We sway him by maintaining the image of being proper upstanding knights, not by punching his fool, adventures in the Red Mountains, savagely insult Dornish and then kill them." Bittersteel states flatly with an arrogant tone, suggesting that he considers Daeron to be a keg of his epithet that shouldn't be near the hearth where the real plans are made. "Those are the things that provides cover for men like the Levalle's to masquerade as leal banners"

Daeron didn’t necessarily like his brother, but he did admire him; however, he didn’t abide by idle hypocrisy and was unable to restrain himself when he responded with, “I suppose attempting to behead hedge knights in his melee is a better way to impress Lord Tyrell? If not then don’t think to lecture me. I don’t recall seeing you fighting a mob to rescue any of his kin.”

"Accidents happens in the melee" Bittersteel shrugs. "And certain men best serves our purposes by their deaths, particularly if they weren't inclined to serve them in life. Bu accidents are very much preferred over blatant assaults."

He likewise shrugs, unrepentant over punching foul dwarves.
“Well if you have any plans on men you expect to ‘serve’ or not ‘serve’ our cause, especially in the upcoming melee, now is a good time to keep me informed. I’d hate for our plans to contradict one another.”

"If the Ironhand feels like avenging his dead lord, perhaps we should let him" Bittersteel offers coldly.

Daeron can’t help but give a wicked grin. He hated Ser Otho for being a rank blackguard, but especially for murdering his friend and fellow Companion. If the gods were good, Ser Ulbert and Otho would kill one another in the melee.
“If that’s what you think is best. I certainly won’t get between the Ironhand and his quarry. There is little love lost between House Starling and Ser Otho.”

"If he goes after Otho, we'll make sure he dies." Bittersteel doesn't seem to care much about that. "Other Brackens are less able to withstand him, and could serve their house better by becoming martyrs"

Daeron knows that he should be bothered by the ease that his brother can dismiss the lives of his own kin in pursuit of greater goals, after all where would that leave him if Bittersteel no longer saw use for him? However, his antipathy for Ser Otho clouded his judgement.
“As for Ser Daemon, do you know what kind of team he’s interested in forming? Do you have a plan to see him win this melee as well?
I will be fighting under my lord and I doubt that he wishes to insert himself or his men into the Bracken-Blackwood conflict or the struggle between the Blackfyre and Royalist factions, so I don’t know my personal usefulness in the melee, but as usual I can recruit others for a righteous cause.”
