Lord Florent's son and heir have gone missing, presumably kidnapped in the assault that claimed the life of Lord Rowan's youngest son, vast bounties of gold have been promised for the safe recovery of Ser Aladore and to bring those responsible for the murder to justice. Just about any man that Lords Tyrell, Rowand and Florent can spare for the search along with scores of others driven by a sense of honor or the lure of reward are milling about Gardenton attempting to find any sort of clue.
Note: Characters participating in round 6 of the joust are at -1D for this event due to time constraints. 10 hours are considered to have passed since the first alcohol attack struck if anyone was drinking last night.
Timing: Results will start trickling in next weekend, so certain outcomes may not be available to those not having made their efforts by then.
The following abilities may be used for investigation (All TN's are hidden, some characters may receive hidden bonuses due to prior events): 1. Survival (Track), if Ser Aladore was in Gardenton, he'd be found by now, suggesting he has been brought elsewhere, probably into the Rosewood as that is in the opposite direction from the camps. 2. Cunning (Logic-high difficulty), by asking questions such as "who benefits?" one might be able to narrow down the list of suspects. 3. Knowledge (Streetwise), no witnesses have come forward, but a group that can overpower a knight, his squire and two guards is unlikely to simply have walked by unnoticed. 4. Knowledge (Streetwise) and Persuasion (Bargain, Convince or Intimidate), both tests at -1D, search for witnesses and get them talking. 5. Will(coordinate) may be used to grant a bonus to all investigators (applied by lowering the TN's), only highest result counts. A character opting for this track may not test for any of the others.
Attempting more than one track applies a cumulative -1b penalty (works as training penalty) per additional track attempted to all tests made in this event.
By foregoing your own test(s), you may assist another character on all tests they make during this event or use coordinate to allow them more assists.
Benefit notes: Your cohort may roll in your stead for this event. You may forego all daily uses of connections to either: -Gain +1D to all knowledge(streetwise) tests made in this event. -Do track 3 or 4 without having it count as an extra test for the purpose of penalties.
Consequences: Hidden, as are the TN's.

Did you also apply the -1b to streetwise and intimidate?

I thought about it, but the language you used (e.g. "cumulative," meaning increasing each time, and "per additional track attempted") made me think that the penalties apply only to tests after the first one.

I will be burning a DP to ensure I find out where Ser Aladore might be. I will post the fluff later in case someone wants to be cruel.

That is to say, burning a DP means that Addam gets enough of a head start to find out where Ser Aladore might be *before* anyone else does, giving him the opportunity to claim all the prizes for himself and whoever he chooses to bring along. He might also walk into an ambush designed for a significantly larger number of PC's and friends, and those coming after gets the glory and prizes for liberating/avenging him also.

The ever organized Malyk helps co-ordinate the search efforts. Some may whisper that it was because it was Lord Florent's son, but the truth was he'd do the same if it was the son of a miller. Not that such co-ordinated efforts would be done for the son of a miller, if such a young man going missing excited much notice at all. Malyk: Will(Coordinate) Manhunt: 7d6k5 18

When Balon learned of the abduction and murder he quickly armed and armored himself. Mounting his horse he galloped out of the Blackbriar encampment to locate his friends as quickly as possible. Finding Ser Addam and his growing search party, they began to track down the missing Florent heir.
Balon wanted to find Aladore first. Not because he held House Florent in high regard but because the reward and goodwill generated from the rescue would be substantial.
Assist: Ser Addam, Track 1, +1 to result.

Narrator note: Assists would need to be applied to rolls that have yet to be made (whether declared in advance or included in the dice code/description and later confirmed, but best declared somewhere before roll is made), also with Addam burning a DP, odds are that assists are better spent elsewhere. Though he might get some additional information gleaned out of his tests, since I primarily read his DP burn as him getting a major clue that gives him a head start on everyone else towards getting himself the grand prize. Realistically, other characters should be better equipped finding those.
If it makes IC sense for your PC's to assist him, then by all means proceed.
Results will become a priority this weekend, until then I'll clear other stuff first.

Addam awoke with a start. His head was ringing and he wasn't in his tent. It was few moments before he realized that he was still at the Golden Rose, and it was Balon who shook him awake. The two knights left the inn together, but it wasn't long before Addam had to stop as the contents of last night's revelries came back up. Pushing his long, ragged hair out of his eyes, it seemed Balon had not stopped to wait for him and the streets were busier then usual at this hour. Stopping one of the guards, he ask what was going on. "Ser Aladore has been kidnapped and his squire killed in night. Lord Reynald has offered a thousand dragons for whoever can bring him home safe." This Tourney just keeps getting more and more interesting, he thought to himself as he made his way back to the tent. While Addam certainly could use the coin, sleep was the only thing on his mind. Back at his tent, Addam noticed a letter on his bedroll. It was unmarked so clearly it couldn't be that import. Tossing it to the side, Addam crashed onto his bedroll in the hopes of a few more hours sleep.
He awoke again, sooner then he had hope. As Addam contemplated what to do with his day, he remembered the letter. His stomach sank as he read it. If Addam was to help with the search, then he had wasted precious time with his own selfish needs. Dawning his mail and tabard, he made his way to the Rosewood. If Ser Aladore was in Gardenton, then he would of been found. But as Addam approached the entrance Rosewood he got the strange felling that he should walk along the outer edge instead of going in. Soon he found an unmarked trail leading away from the main path. Deciding to follow it, it wasn't long before he found what he was looking for. Down the hill, in a ravine by a river's edge, he spied seven men. Six were armed and the seventh was bound to a tree, undoubtedly it was Ser Aladore. Quietly back track, Addam waited until he had put some distance between himself and bandits before taking off, full sprint threw the remainder of the forest and back through the camps. Turning the corner, Addam ran head first into Balon, toppling the both of them to the ground with a crash. "Out of my way idiot," he said as he got to his feet. It was then he saw the winged horse banner of Ser Aegor not far off. Taking back off, he merely called back to Balon to come with him.
Exhausted, Addam feel to his knees right in front of Ser Aegor and Lord Gorman Peake. "Ser Aladore... I found him" was he he manged to say and he caught his breath.

A knight's life was at stake, and desperate times made for strange bedfellows. Roland's first thought had been to aid Lysette or Septon Abelar, but his sixth round tilt had delayed him and both parties had long since set off. Having turned down so many of Lord Levalle's overtures, Roland felt honour bound to aid in Ser Aladore's rescue, even if it meant associating with such a dog. Is this how a man first damns himself in the eyes of the Seven? With good intentions?Roland knew all too well what happened when you lay down with dogs. [OOC: assist to Lysette, failing that perhaps Lord Levalle if he wants the help (due to some offscreen negotiations) and failing both of them Septon Abelar, even if it is too late to make a mechanical difference I think that's a choice that makes narrative sense. Narrative to follow once I know who I'm helping. D8 - Manhunt (Romantic) - potential forfeit TN12: 3d6 7]

[OOC: provided that nothing unexpected happens in my scene with Lord Gormon, Titus will be going with him for at least the first part of the day - this might probably just be for narration than anything else as he is still part of the jousts.]

[OOC: Mikel will be assisting Laena, will add to post when able to]
"Ser, you'll want to hear this." Mikel's squire said as he tried again to wake him up.
"I assure you I do not." Mikel turned his head and thought about how he wished he was still asleep, and how he should have left the Golden Rose earlier instead of trying to protect a drunk Lords virtue. And of how he shouldn't have been knocked from his horse.
His squire told him regardless of how he felt, and when he was done Mikel knew he would not be going back to sleep. He did not expect to wake to anything like this but the news wasn't a surprise considering how the tournament had gone so far.
"Prepare our horses, then I imagine I'll be getting into my armor and we will be off." He slowly stood and winced as his morning headache presented itself. Milk of the poppy, clothing, his sword belt, and he was off to hear how the Starkwood camp was reacting.

Manhunt Track 3 - +1D from Connections, +2 from Ashara & Mikel Assisting: 6d6k4+2 22Laena, Ashara, and Mikel hit the streets around the kidnap spot. The location was known, and there were only so many ways in and out. It was a simple process of working through them, most to least likely, and with a small group of 'concerned citizens' willing to help out, it was accomplished swiftly and thoroughly.
