I've watched the CP grey video. I am in total agreement, but it would mean political parties would have to willingly give up power.
And I think that Democrats are the only party that is even remotely consider it, as they are the only party willing to vote against their self interest, but even that is a stretch

Also on that site is this great little 'game' about trust. It sheds an interesting light on what's happening in this game. The Evolution of TrustI managed to get a score of 39/49 on my first try, which I'm pretty happy with. Edit: I've watched the CP grey video. I am in total agreement, but it would mean political parties would have to willingly give up power. And I think that Democrats are the only party that is even remotely consider it, as they are the only party willing to vote against their self interest, but even that is a stretch We here in Britain actually had a ballot back in 2011 to ditch the 'First past the Post' system in favour of the 'Alternative Vote' system (AKA Instant Runoff voting/Ranked Choice). It was a massacre. 68% voted to *keep* the FPTP system, and only 32% voted to change it, with 42% voter turnout. Both the Labour and Conservative parties (our two major parties) spent a *lot* of money scaremongering about the vote (which only happened due to a coalition agreement between the Conservative & Lib Dem (the biggest of the minor parties, at least back then) parties), and that was the result. My point? Even if it's *people*, rather than politicians voting (because politicians aren't people, natch ), reform is very difficult where it would reduce the power of entrenched interests. Anyway, that was all FYI, make of it what you will.

Yeah, it's getting grass-roots attention here in the US, so some localities and states use instant run-off or similar. Still mostly dominated by the two main parties though, because of coat-tail effects. Like most things in large-scale politics, it's going to have to be a slow bottom-up transition 9assuming no shortcuts are taken, but revolutions are messy). EDIT I managed to get a score of 39/49 on my first try, which I'm pretty happy with. I think I know your strategy, it's a pretty good one.

This is a cool picture of jousting. I love the barding

That is a cool picture.
To be technical though, the horse is caparisoned, not wearing barding. Barding is specifically armor, caparisons are cloth and used to help identify the knight. A sigil on the shield is going to be fairly well beaten off after a few rounds of jousting, and is only visible to a portion of the crowd anyway. The caparison is visible on both sides and while it might get a bit dirty, it is much easier to clean cloth than it is to have a shield repainted daily.

Indeed. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, happy [event] to those who celebrate something else, and a pleasant few unimportant days to those who do neither.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Winter Solstice, or whatever your celebration of choice.*
*Except Abelar. May he find the Krampus on his doorstep and the Grinch rooting through his pantry.**

Best wishes to all my ASOIAF gaming friends, old and new. Having avoided being ill for most of winter, suddenly struck down with a terrible cold from the 24th of December onward. Humbug! Apologies if posting is slower/less lucid than normal due to this/family events.
